I obviously don't mind any of the new songs on the setlist. I'd love to hear all of them. However I think I'd pretty much replace every other song with something else, except maybe Giant. Maybe the real measure of the tour will be TORONTO, and then I can kick myself.

On Matt's blog a rehearsal video was posted. It's about 9 minutes long and includes songs from Vancouver and one song in the middle I didn't recognize. The Boy Who Could Explode will be a tough song to sing on the tour.

Sometimes people don't read everything on teh Internets. I know I don't!

I remember he switched guitars at the show I was at, so perhaps there's multiple tunings and he didn't feel like bringing 4 guitars with him.

How come he never played Truffle Pigs on the acoustic tour? This just occurred to me.

Definitely the last big hurrah until things hit shitter. It could be applied to anybody's home if they feel that way. Also the whole "It's like we're taking pictures of a tidal wave, on the shore grinning 100 feet away" image is my favorite part. It's like we see something that's going to wipe us out and we just stand there thinking it's "so fuckin' cool! film this and put it on youtube and maybe we'll be famous!!!"

He doesn't need to be singing about Vancouver specifically in every song or even in half the songs. Vancouver is just symbolic of home in general.

I thought that it was an analogy similar to us being small in comparison to the rest of the universe. We're small in comparison to whales and our problems are smaller than the bigger things going on around us. "you disappear me" I'm not explaining it well but I'm slightly drunk. something like that.

Haha, Montana is pretty awful. I have a friend that is from Lethbridge, but goes to school in Calgary now. So I was looking around Calgary in street view for the first time the other day and i couldn't help but laugh at the fact that there were like, 10 to 15 big buildings in downtown. THIS IS DOWNTOWN?! Meanwhile I am from New York, home of wall to wall buildings. I forget how big NY is sometimes compared to other cities.

On an unrelated note, does anyone have an idea as to what the little whistling sounds at the end of Empty's Theme Park are supposed to be?

Agreed. LOTGA is one of my favorite albums. I could listen to it all day. It has a quality that I really enjoy.

I was thinking today that TVNA would be a pretty good single. Cutting a 7 minute song down to 4 minutes would be bad though. That's a lot of fucking time to cut out.

I think the part right before the outro in Volcanoes is a pretty good showcase of Matt's passionate vocals.

He played Last Parade acoustically? How was it?

Maple Music is awesome. They sent me three 4x6 prints of matt good's artwork. I will have to frame them.
