  1. Nice! Good setlist. Surprised there was no Time Bomb or Load Me Up. Still awesome. After hearing Volcanoes live I now like that song about 50 times more than I did. So great.
  2. Nice. How was Fought to Fight It? I would have liked to hear that.
  3. A picture of the setlist. Remember that True Love was played after Champions too.
  4. New York has always been >> than Philly since the beginning of time. Don't get me started on THAT. The show was incredible. Matt's vocals were kinda low in relation to the rest of the instruments, but it was still great. The only annoying parts of the night were a guy belching extremely loud during a quiet part in Avalanche, some dude getting way too excited and knocking my head a few times during Load Me Up (and spilling a bit of beer on me) and these chicks yelling "YEAH HE DOES!" during Champions of Nothing, which I couldn't understand what for. I love these general admission shows. Squeezed up to the stage, a bunch of people dancing and having fun. There were seats for those that chose them, but I made it a point to get right up to the stage. I said earlier in this thread (or another thread) sitting at a rock show just isn't as cool!!!! The highlight of the night for me was The Future is X-Rated. I don't know why, but I just had the biggest fucking smile on my face during that song. Also the intro to Volcanoes was incredible. I wish I could have got it on film. Matt raised his voice for one of the notes and it just made me go "wow..." I think that song was actually better live than on the album. I'm still so pumped about this. I wish I was going to another show TONIGHT. When I met Matt after the show I just was nervous and thanked him for coming to new york, handed him hospital music and told him I loved that album, and told him he was the man and told him to come back to new york again. Lol...when I met him in Buffalo I got to talk to him a bit more. But that's ok, I didn't want to take up too much of his time.
  5. New York City: On Nights Like Tonight Avalanche Great Whales of the Sea The Boy Who Could Explode Born Losers Volcanoes The Future is X-Rated Load Me Up Apparitions Weapon ______________________ ================== Giant Hello Time Bomb Champions of Nothing True Love Will Find You In The End (Not Listed on Setlist...which I got SIGNED!!! Picture of it tomorrow) Kickass fucking show. Matt was ON. Packed house too! Lots of Matt Good enthusiasts!
  6. Well like I said before I've been to a couple shows before. The first show was in Buffalo and the bus was easily accessible. Then I saw him in 2008 in NYC and the bus was nowhere to be found. I don't know where you can hide a bus in Manhattan, but I know a couple of people that will be at the show and they intend to find him afterward so I'll probably stick around with them. I'm going to try and get Hospital Music signed. I've never gotten a setlist from a show before. I probably won't be the lucky one to get it, but I'll definitely keep track of the setlist and post it in here ASAP. I AM INDEED VERY EXCITED ;)
  7. Bowery Ballroom tonight!!!!!!! Very excited. First time seeing Matt with a full band.
  8. In September I got my first full time job in television at a production company -- although it's still freelance and not permanent. Once the projects end you have to hope another one comes up or you're sunk. I've been lucky and have been on for 7 months straight uninterrupted. I might have a glimmer of hope in April that I can latch onto something after my current job ends, but I can't be sure. So I have a pretty low level in post-production right now, but it's a foot in the door. I'm the youngest person (24 going on 25) on the crew of the current show I work for.
  9. I already had my picture taken with him once...and after that I thought about all the people lined up to take pictures and how he just has to sit there and look at the camera and take like maybe 100 pictures sometimes...it's kinda weird and I feel weird doing it now. After I saw Penn & Teller last year when I went to have my picture taken with Penn I just thought about all the people waiting to have their pictures taken like he's just some prop. I dunno. He's a really nice guy though, as is Matt, and they embrace it so maybe I shouldn't worry about that. But I guess the point I'm getting to is next time I meet Matt I definitely will not be worrying about getting a picture. I'd like him to sign something though...probably Hospital Music.
  10. I notice that he stopped playing The Boy Who Could Explode. It seemed like a staple of all the shows up til recently.
  11. Yeah kinda surprised he's not playing as many Vancouver songs. Good setlist though. I'd like to hear I'm A Window.
  12. That's why I just steer clear of all political discussion ;)
  13. Less than a week til New York. I hope he's not feeling like shit by then. He was kinda sick last time, but still sounded really good.
  14. I've just seen a lot worse on the Internet than what I've seen in the comments on Matt's blog in the past. I didn't read the comments too regularly, but when I did I'd read things people objected to and I didn't think any of it was that bad to begin with. It's a moot point now. People set out to post contentious stuff in his comments will most likely not pay for membership so Matt has the civility he wants. So...I guess everybody wins.
  15. I think the issues with the comments have always been overblown. As a result comments come and go. I have maybe posted a grand total of 5 comments in Matt's blog entries over the years and at this point I don't even read the blog much anymore...I just glance for music updates every once in a while - more since the US tour started. I didn't even know he posted demos recently until I saw the threads on The Bored.
  16. I got to meet Matt after a Buffalo show, but the last show in NYC I figured it would be impossible and just left.
  17. Less than two weeks til Bowery Ballroom! Whoohoo!
  18. Whoa wait, she hugged him?
  19. There's a billion videos of Matthew Good on youtube from the last few tours. Has he actually said something about cameras? I missed it if he did. Also...the heck? That sounds like a bunch of dumb shit that could happen at a show. I'd be annoyed if all that stuff happened (some guy yelling out, girl being dumb and jumping on stage, etc.)
  20. Swap out either Volcanoes or FTFI with Last Parade and I think this is a perfect setlist! Throwing in I'm A Window kicks ass too.
  21. Cool. I'm glad. I like that song as a single.
  22. He'll make due just fine. Buying albums and concert tickets are donation enough, ya know?
  23. I think if I could pick 12 songs to hear at the show in NYC on April 2nd based on what he's been playing, this would be my perfect setlist Last Parade The Boy Who Could Explode Great Whales of the Sea Hello Time Bomb Born Losers The Vancouver National Anthem A Silent Army in the Trees The Future is X-Rated Apparitions Weapon Giant Empty's Theme Park Yes, I think that would be my ideal setlist! In the end I don't mind what it is, because I've never heard ANY of Matt's songs live and full band...I've only been to acoustic shows. This should be awesome.
  24. So there was only single from this album, huh? I obviously don't know what they've played on Canadian radio though.
  25. He seemed to enjoy the acoustic shows quite a bit.
