Already a clip up from the latest show! Calgary - Nov 18, 2009 Apparitions - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oU-6a_dxEBc

I remember when I first heard this song, I was actually living in Coquitlam at the time. I think it could be about a lot of things, but I've always felt something similar to what Devil said above. The key phrase for me is "real intent", and how it seems like there was something more honest in mainstream art (movies and records, at least) in those days. Then again, the line "well it's not a real sport" always cracks me up, and I chalk the whole thing up as an exercise in cynical ranting (which I'm all for, BTW).

I'm loving these setlists, I would pick any one of them, include Advertising on Police Cars, and be in pure bliss for a show like that.
-
Well, the Police got back together and tickets were, what? $250, right? In fact, there's a helluva lot of shows out there that are over $100. How much does a bloody hockey game cost these days? Look at people falling over each other to pay hundreds of dollars for Olympic event tickets. Personally, I'd skip going out to the movies 3 or 4 times (with popcorn), and that'd pretty much cover the difference between what a MG ticket on this tour goes for, and the $100 we're talking about for this dream setlist.
-
Yes, those are definitely dream setlists, and I'd possibly even book vacation time and flights to go and see a show like that in multiple venues across Canada.

Yeah, for stuff like that, I'd easily pay $100 or more. Advertising on Police Cars with a full band would probably blow me away as well... -
Yeah, there are some pictures of the hat on http://www.flickr.com/groups/thecooperation I've been watching carefully over the last couple days. No video from Calgary or Red Deer, and no more stuff from Edmonton. I suspect it'll be a while before we see any new youtube uploads.
-
Yeah, that takes some balls to post, for sure! Sounds great to me...backed by a cover band and everything (or even just an acoustic guitar), it'd get the girls. ;)
-
I'm interested in hearing it. ;)

Yup, really enjoying this recording. Can't wait to fire up the FLAC version on my stereo tonight! -

Thanks for getting that to us so quick. I saw the twitter. Lucky, lucky...as much as I loved the show I was at (2nd night in Vancouver), I *really* wanted to hear Silent Army/Helicopter back to back like that. I bet it was incredible. I really hope somebody got a stellar recording (video or audio) of that. -
Taraden added another couple this evening! Vancouver - Nov 9, 2009 Apparitions - Banter - I probably won't be adding any Calgary ones that show up tonight until tomorrow morning sometime...
-
Two new short clips.... Edmonton - Nov 14, 2009 Weapon - Apparitions - Looks like we didn't get anything from Dawson Creek. ;)

Thanks for letting us know. That's actually a really decent setlist, IMHO. Any other comments on the show itself? We're all ears. -

So...no reports from Dawson Creek? -
Oh, just wait until I rip all the .flv video files, organize the heck out of 'em, and create a torrent. That's ambitious! ;) That's the goal isn't it?
-
For convenience, all the Youtube videos mentioned in this thread (obviously not the flickr ones, alas) have been added to this playlist, which I will continue to maintain, as well as posting new links here as I find them: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=6C44E92C3871BCD5 They're in chronological order by night, but not sub-sorted in order within any particular show. I'm not quite that ambitious. So far there's 37 videos in there. Enjoy!

For posterity (don't hate me Matt!): Everyone Pays Posted by Matthew Good on November 10, 2009 You create something. That something goes out into the world and, if it is something special, its impact can change the lives of complete strangers, or at least provide them moments that they will always remember. How that aspect of music has been diminished to the lowest part of its own equation is beyond me, but it has. My life has not be measured in years. It has been measured in music. Be it the first record that I ever purchased as a kid

"New Order's on the turntable, we're dancing..." I'd say it's not too much of a stretch that he'd be a Joy Division fan. Speaking of which (!!!!!), there's a new video clip on Youtube so far today, and it's THE BEST YET!!! (IMHO): Vancouver - Nov 10, 2009 Load Me Up - (in HD too!) Bonus video (also from the same night, mis-labeled as Nov 11, I think): Mother Mother - O My Heart : Cheers folks!
-
BTW, I noticed that the "everyone pays" post, and the one before that are both gone from matthewgood.org now. Read whatever you'd like into that...
-
Of course, just to make life difficult, there's also stuff turning up *not* on youtube, for example these two clips from the second Vancouver show (which is the one I was at): Born Losers - http://www.flickr.com/photos/peter_lu/4096449029/ Empty's Theme Park - http://www.flickr.com/photos/peter_lu/4096522661/ Best sound quality of any recordings from that night I've found yet, and alas these are short little clips only. PLEEEZE MOAR!!!! (Aside: These were found via here - http://www.flickr.com/groups/thecooperation/pool/ )
-
Oh no! I can't edit the first post anymore. Didn't realize that was gonna happen. I found more (not necessarily any good mind you. I'm getting neck cramps from watching one of 'em sideways!): Vancouver - Nov 10, 2009 Born Losers - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qlb7eAzbxdU Witty Banter - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDaBxTjQ6pM The Boy Who Could Explode - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aG-dTU9nWL8

What!? Really? How does something like that happen? I mean, did Matt and company show up with their bus this afternoon and get the old "sorry, we double booked and the Kelowna Kettle Krooner Boys got here to set up first!" Don't tickets get sold, and all that kind of stuff. You'd think somebody would have noticed that kind of thing. /me scratches head... -
Here's all the videos from the Vancouver Tour I've managed to find on Youtube so far. (As of 12:45 PM PST, Nov 12, 2009) I don't promise to keep this updated, but I'm gonna try! Yeah, I looked at those scarves and though the looked pretty spiffy, but not quite enough to make me buy one. I did, however, get a shirt and autographed Vancouver CD. Too bad the vinyl weren't signed, 'cuz I definitely would have bought that too.
