Interesting that Matt didn't even hesitate for a second when he said "Avalanche" was his favourite song (he's written) of the decade. The way he said it was almost like "no contest".

A couple new ones: Montreal - Dec 10, 2009 On Nights Like Tonight - Great Whales of the Sea -
-
Well, I used the word "exhaustive" in my playlist description, so I feel compelled to add absolutely everything, no matter how pointless. This certainly qualifies: Toronto - Dec 13, 2009 Strange Days - Check it out when you've got, uh, 15 seconds to spare. ;) After that, I felt the urge to re-watch this one from Halifax, 'cuz it's just too appropriate in context: "Purchase decent electronic equipment, if only to appease me!"

Some new stuff. Toronto - Dec 13, 2009 Born Losers - (well, 21 seconds of it, anyway...) Calgary - Nov 18, 2009 Apparitions - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-_bGheaZ_0

Call me lame for saying so, but Waking Up the Nation at Bird's Hill Park in Winnipeg. Extreme, Honeymoon Suite, Sass Jordan, Steve Miller Band and Brian Adams. 11 hours in the pissing down rain, right in the front row for the whole thing. Lots of "cross band" collabs, and Brian Adams earned a lot of respect from me that night, even though I wasn't there specifically to see him. The whole stage was falling apart, all the lighting rig except for one set of spots shorted out, buckets or rainwater pouring out of that poor grand piano, roadies running around the stage trying to tie down the huge curtains that were whipping around knocking over parts of the drumkit, Brian getting handed one guitar after another as they kept shorting out, and Brian refusing the advise of his tour manager to stop because it was going from bad to worse. I just remember getting chills when he sang "where you gonna hide when it all comes down" during Heat of the Night, with the entire stage collapsing around him. Fuck...that was insane. Then, of course, there was wading through waist high water back to the parking lot after to find our car practically floating away.... PS. Because the crew had these giant squeegees (sp?) that they were using to push sheets of water off the stage (right onto us, of course), my friends and I all refer to that show as "Squeegee-ing the Nation" now.

Good point. I have a huge text file here that I'm also maintaining in parallel (in case something ever happens to the playlist, and also as a handy reference) with all the links in it too, and a quick text search reveals that no, nobody has uploaded any video of Fought To Fight It. You would think that out of 163 videos there would be ONE, wouldn't you? Ah well...

Meant to post this several hours ago, but the forums seemed to be down: Sarnia - Dec 12, 2009 Weapon - I think there's more coming too. I'll check and post again soon!
-
Are you implying you might not have bought those tickets if you weren't drunk? If so, then I'd have to advise you to drink more, since it improves your judgement! ;)

More: Ottawa - Dec 11, 2009 Avalanche - Apparitions - Weapon - Giant (1) - Giant (2) - Empty's Theme Park -
-
Thanks! Also, there's these: Ottawa - Dec 11, 2009 It's Been a While Since I was Your Man - The Boy Who Could Explode - Last Parade - Youtube's flaking out on me, and I have to run, but I'll watch all these soon!

Yeah, I watched the video of Weapon from Ottawa that just showed up on youtube tonight ( ), and I noticed some surprising and cool new vocal arrangements (eg. melody change on the lines "and you give in, and you give out" around the 3:15 mark) that are just a little different from any other live versions I've heard recently. Sounds like it was a great show! -
New stuff! Ottawa - Dec 11, 2009 Load Me Up - Born Losers - Weapon -
-
Yes, I just noticed the "official" channel now has a whole pile of videos. It's been there for a while (see the first video in "the playlist" http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=6C44E92C3871BCD5 ), but for a long time, that was the only video on there. Also this: Saint John's - Dec 05, 2009 Hello Time Bomb - Gotta love the audience all singing it wrong right before the sugar smacks line (around 2:39). <forehead smack>

Yup, there's one youtube clip already from Montreal (mentioned in the "Vancouver Tour Youtube Videos" thread, on this page: http://www.nearfantastica.com/bored/index....0&start=100 ), and I'm watching for more, so they'll get posted there (and added to the playlist, of course) relatively soon after they turn up. -
First video from Montreal, and it's pretty funny... Montreal - Dec 10, 2009 Comedian Scene - Enjoy!
-
Ok, now THAT was funny!
-
OMG! That's an amazing recording (a bit of audio distortion, but that's ok ;) ). I wonder how many other videos might be missing. I tell ya, youtube's search function totally sucks. I checked several times that day, and this never came up once! Thanks! Definitely adding to the playlist...

Perhaps a silly question, but... Did the show scheduled for Belleville happen last night, or what? -
Well I'll be damned! Moncton is off the wall of shame! Moncton - Dec 03, 2009 The Future is X-Rated - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3zxDBvalOY Weapon - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0kloOQEqAY Yet another example of the boys having a lot of fun with X-Rated...gotta love it!
-
We've got a pile of new videos (at least 8) that looks pretty decent so far, from Saint John's. Updating coming as soon as I file them properly... Saint Johns - Dec 5, 2009 Hello Time Bomb - The Future is X-Rated - Load Me Up - Giant - Born Losers - Last Parade - The Boy Who Could Explode - Apparitions - Now I gotta go watch 'em all! ;) Ok, finally watched them all, and I gotta say...if anything, the boys are getting even more comfortable with X-Rated than they were in Kitchener. Great performance, IMHO.
-
My sentiments exactly (re F2FI). Also, I have to ask why we haven't seen any video of X-Rated beyond Kitchener. It's been played at every show since! I'm updating the wall-of-shame. Moncton has had long enough already, so I guess we're not getting anything from there: Key City Theatre - Cranbrook, British Columbia - Nov 11 Encana Events Centre - Dawson Creek, British Columbia - Nov 13 Red Deer Memorial Centre - Red Deer, Alberta - Nov 16 Capitol Centre - North Bay, Ontario - Nov 26 Charles W. Stockey Centre - Parry Sound, Ontario - Nov 27 Oxygen Night Club - Moncton, New Brunswick - Dec 3 No new videos yet today. I suspect we won't see anything new until Bellville tomorrow night, assuming Matt makes it out of Newfoundland!
-
Tons today: Saint Johns - Dec 5, 2009 Weapon - Giant - Born Losers - Last Parade - Black Helicopter - Apparitions - Weapon - Odette - Empty's Theme Park - (sound quality on most of these is pretty bad, you've been warned) Halifax - Dec 4, 2009 The Boy Who Could Explode - Weapon - Us Remains Impossible - Kitchener - Nov 30, 2009 Black Helicopter - Last Parade - Empty's Theme Park -
-
...and this just in... Saint Johns - Dec 5, 2009 Apparitions - Cripes man, those guys could teach us west-coasters a thing or two about audience participation...
