Wow rabbit, i always thought it was about Matt's experience in the hospital. Didn't know about the cancer. Yours is a good theory. I always assumed "I know that it's bad, that it's the kind that they can't operate on" was about his mental illness, since its a disease you obviously can't operate on.

I've also seen the "MENTAL" tag around Ottawa. The day after Matt posted the graffiti event & picture on his blog (the pic has since been removed) i saw a similar "mental" tag on the campus of Carleton Univerity as i was going to class. I remember that tag being there since the start of the semester in Sept. I also noticed the same tag at a public bus stop downtown a few days ago. I also suffer from mental illness (anxiety w/ depression) so this shit offends me & i can appreciate how much this would anger & upset Matt. If i ever find one of these punks making this tag i'm going to rip of their pants & spraypaint the words "Cock-Hotel: insert here" across their ass-cheeks.

The Oct. 18th show in Ottawa was amazing, but got one encore. The audience was cheering like mad before the 1st encore, and of course Matt came out for it. But after the the 1st encore was complete & Matt left the stage everyone in the audience immediately just got up & left the theatre. I wanted to keep standing & cheer my ass off, but maybe the fans tried for a 2nd encore at the Ottawa show the night before & knew Matt that you wouldn't come out. But anyways, i knew you had been sick that week & another encore probably would have killed your throat. So i'm glad u got your rest. Glad the Toronto fans had a blast. A live album or DVD would be great, or even a few free donwloads from TO show. Maybe us fans should try to put together a "best of" of all of Matt's songs he's done live.

I recorded 'The National' on Tuesday where Matt said he would be featured on it. I was flipping back & forth & didn't catch the whole show but was Matt even on it???

Haha yeah i remember that. She yelled that after he was done Apparitions (or maybe Strange Days?). I remember it was one of Matt's more popular slower songs anyways, i guess his voice on some of the notes knocked her out hehe. P.S. THANKS so much for the setlist for the 18th. I recorded a quick clip of each song with my camera so i could remember the set, but thanks to you i dont's have to go through each vid & figure out what all the songs were! Ya his banter was funny. i like him bantering with the lighting guy & getting him to stick projection up on the ceiling. i really did think he was totally smashed when he first started talking w/ his wine glass, but there's no way. Probably a little buzzed though! This was my 1st ever MG concert, does Matt always banter like that way? I got a good part of 'Champions', and like i said above i got very short clips of each song but none of it is really presentable. I did get some of his banter though which i can stick up on youtube when i get some time. If my damn camera didn't take up so room on my memory card for video i would have recorded more of the show. I had a great view too, 3rd row center! Luckily i got some really nice pics throughout the show. And THANKS for putting those clips on youtube!! Do you have any more? Wondering if you could put the original files of your videos up on yousendit.com or somehing, since youtube really degrades audio & picture quality.

excellent topic. The song makes even more sense now. I knew this "Patty" person was probably dead, but didn't know who it was. I'm not sure if Patty is being referred to in "99% of Us is Failure". It could be her, or it could be Jenny, or another family member saying "I know its real slow honey...". Hard to say

This show is getting a bit boring for me. The 1st season was awesome, it was pure friend VS friend competition with hilarity ensuing. Since then it seems like every show is about poor dumb old Spenny & how Kenny can cheat to win the competition. Its a better show when they compete for real.

We all probably people who have been married (mostly women) who have kept their last name & added their husband's name to it (ie: Suzy Smith-Jackson) instead of just taking the man's last name. While its nice to have this gender-equality in marriage, having 2 last names is a really dumb idea & will destroy society as we know it. Why? Here's an example: Suzy Smith marries Todd Jackson. Instead of Suzy Smith becoming Suzy Jackson (as is tradition) she decides to combine the names & is now known as "Suzy Smith-Jackson". Then Suzy & Todd have a daughter, and her name is Laura Smith-Jackson. Laura grows up & marries Johnny Goldman-Bernstein. Now Laura's name is Laura Smith-Jackson-Goldman-Bernstein! If this trend continues & their son or daughter gets married, they could have a grandson named Henry Smith-Jackson-Goldman-Bernstein-DeNiro-Pacino-Gonzalez-Machado. Obviously names won't go that far, because at some point brides will probably apt to take their husband's name or keep their own name instead of combining them. So why not just start night now AND STOP COMBINING LAST NAMES PLEASE!!
