It's a great take on this song, which has always been one of my favourites. Pretty high praise coming from Matt. Put it on a t-shirt!
  2. That's an awesome venue. I saw some pics from a friend who saw Dan Mangan at a winery in Niagara Falls. It's a great place to have an intimate show such as this. Minus all the boozed up people, usually. Sounds like it wasn't too much of an issue with this show. And Fake Empire? So damn jealous.
  3. I'm probably going to lease a vehicle the next time I need to. I own both of our cars outright now, but had been making payments on the SUV for what feels like forever. Ideally, I would finance or outright buy a car if possible, but some of the financing terms they have now are 7 years long. I don't think most warranties go beyond 5 years, or however many kilometers. I always hate paying for car repairs if I'm still making payments on it. I think it all comes down to your financial situation and what works for you. Also, I feel your pain about car sales people. They are easy to dislike, but it's their job at the same time.
  4. I'm really kicking myself for not going to last night's show. It's not like the tickets were easy to get by any means, but it sounded like an amazing experience. Everything I've heard from friends who went makes me regret that decision.
  5. Saw Brian Fallon (from The Gaslight Anthem) on Friday night. It was a great concert. He mostly played stuff from his current solo album, Painkillers, but did bust out some covers and some Horrible Crowes material. He's a lot goofier that I imagined. He talked a fair bit in between songs, talking about how he loved Canadian women's hair and how nicely styled it always is. He even did a little Karma Chameleon. He challenged the crowd that if we could finish the song he started, he would bust out something cool. No one knew it though, because it was some Rihanna song. They finished with Behold the Hurricane, which is a solid Crowes song. He actually stuck around after the band left and played a Gaslight song acoustic (The Navesink Banks). That was awesome. Overall, I'd recommend seeing him if you have the chance, even if you're not really that familiar with his solo stuff. My brother wasn't, and he loved it as well. Can't seem to imbed my tweet, but some video of Behold the Hurricane is on my Twitter: https://twitter.com/Mattdehoog/status/751618939537481729
  6. The Secret Life of Pets. Was pretty good overall. My kids really enjoyed it.
  7. I know I'm late to the party, but we just got into this show. I watched a couple episodes a while ago, and wasn't really impressed, but as we got into into it, it keeps getting better. We just started Season 2 last night, and I'm trying not to read ahead to see what happens. Anyone else watching it?
  8. I used to watch it in the late 90's to the early 2000's. It was good for the time. I see something every now and then. It's really bad. I know in terms of ratings, etc, it's not doing well.
  9. Happy birthday Matt! Enjoy it!
  10. Baruchel tweeted yesterday about that guy scoring that movie, so it's not MG, at least for this movie.
  11. Just saw that. Fantastic news. Should be an emotional concert. 8:30 PM EST on CBC commercial free.
  12. I didn't have any luck the second go around either. I'll hold out and hope that they do film the last concert and air it. I don't see why they wouldn't.
  13. I'm hoping he isn't just messing around, as I like the sound he's got right now. Do you mean for the new Goon movie, or something else? Haven't heard anything personally.
  14. This. Doesn't matter what it's for. Just any new music, especially what he's shared so far, is exciting. Hopefully he plays some new stuff on these summer dates.
  15. I love the new clip that he posted yesterday. Great vibe from that clip. Can't wait to hear more.
  16. Yeah, it's an update to GTA Online. Should be free. I personally haven't played the game in ages though. I'm going to try it out this weekend. I hate that aspect of Online too. I don't mind doing that sometimes, but it's frustrating when you're trying to do something, and someone is hunting you constantly.
  17. I'm thinking about going back and playing GTA Online. They've released a huge update that lets you become the CEO of a criminal empire basically. There's tons of new stuff to do.
  18. That's a great find, and you can't beat the price! I need to go hunting more often.
  19. Good article. Didn't realize they weren't owned by them.
  20. Somebody needs to do something about this issue. Ticketmaster doesn't care, because they own StubHub and therefore make even more money off these sales. I tried to get Blue Jays tickets when they went on sale. I was on the site at 10:00 AM right at the on sale time, and they were magically already 3/4 sold for every game. It's a huge issue for any type of event. I ended up going back on the site a week later and some had opened up, but it's still a scam.
  21. Minus the Barenaked Ladies, and yeah, that's a good lineup. Saw it online. Plus, the Dropkick Murphys and Drive By Truckers. Tickets are a little steep though.
  22. Pretty big tour announced for the summer. Starting in June.
  23. Tour is being announced tomorrow morning. Select Canadian cities.
  24. Really sad news today. He's one of the most iconic voices of all time, and will be deeply missed. It's good that they get to do one more tour and go out on top. I've only seen them once, but it was one of my favourite all-time concerts. I'm going to try to go if they come around here.
  25. It's got a cult vibe, for sure. Plus, it's the colour of Kool-Aid, so it all ties together.
