  1. Hooray! I think? I dunno, firefox is too slow. Or was. Maybe I'll have to try this new one. Why can't I drag and drop windows tabs? This is the real question, and if Windows 7 doesn't support it I'll barf in their HVAC.
  2. Both irrelevant, really. Death of Steve Irwin I guess I remember, but I couldn't tell you when it was. I remember Desert Storm and Desert Fox. Not so much Iraqi Freedom because it was a terrible name and it hasn't ended.
  3. Just finished Mass Effect. Red Alert 3 next, I suppose. Maybe Prototype after that. And of course Team Fortress 2 on the side, at all times.
  4. I didn't know Clarkson had written any books. "Keep the rubber side down"
  5. Eh, maybe then. I've been keeping the reciepts and mileage, and was typically running 420km from full to gas light on 89, but this time I've already surpassed 440km and I've got nearly a quarter left on the gauge. Different pump station, may have a different definition of 'full' before it pops...
  6. I must be wrong in my math, because I'm running a 3.5L V6 here. It is not an efficient vehicle.
  7. I'd do it, but it's nearly midnight and I have no idea whether it would wake you or whether your number is even the same. For the record though, your contact info still lists you as "her majesty..." since you got your hands on my phone.
  8. :\ I average 13.8L/100km if I commute, more if I drive for fun or profit. What do you drive?
  9. I'm just going by what I noticed on an episode of Top Gear the other day.
  10. Vaguely related to this, why can they say "cock" on the BBC, but not "wanker"?
  11. Yeah...it's scary stuff. FSTDT has shut down, in that they don't take new submissions...but the archive stays up. Anyway, there's still plenty of horror to peruse.
  12. I wonder how many people have died of regular flu lately...
  13. I love this show.
  14. Snatch Wars
  15. We've got bus ads like that. Actually, I guess a lot of places do. Still. Winnar.
  16. You'll want to buy a crow bar and a magazine-fed semi-automatic carbine rifle (.22 LR should be fine). Also, leather.
  17. Classy. Though I find fish taco easier to work with than Soft taco. In retrospect, I'm not certain why.
  18. Sure, it's just one of the theories "they" have put forward for the relatively low fataility rate (read: zero) so far outside of Mexico/Mexicans. I was under the impression that viruses were generally mutating all the time whether they were under attack or not. The mutants that happen to survive an attack because they've accidentally found an immunity to treatment then become the new strain. But viruses also don't have any sentient mutation strategy. Becoming more resistant to treatment is a lucky coincidence on the part of the virus, and whether it become more or less destructive on a per-patient basis doesn't really enter in to it. Killing the host isn't really the goal. Extremely lethal diseases with short incubation times tend to burn out and annihilate themselves before they can spread very far. As a species, the virus would be better off not doing it. I'm not a biologist and have no medical background, so maybe there is some mechanism that tends to increase lethality and drug resistance in tandem, but in evolutionary terms it seems self-defeating. Granted, one could call drug resistance a factor in lethality. Regardless. A few months down the road, everyone will either be annoyed at how out of proportion things were blown, or the survivors will look over a ruined world, and stand in awe of life imitating movies. The whole 'the scientists said it would be ok' scenario. Huzzah!
  19. Can't do a set-up joke. Specialty is obscure sexual innuendo and double/triple/quadruple entendres.
  20. Consider this a mild introduction to the antibiotic-resistant super-plagues of the future. You won't die unless you have a cytokine storm, this time.
  21. Given the panic this has caused, the targeted google ads are in very, very poor taste: Swine Flu Rescue & Cure The Only! Rescue And Cure For Swine Flu Protect Your Family Now www.ResolveSwineFlu.com Swine Flu Secrets Protect Your Family From Swine Flu 2009 Swine Flu Guide Only
  22. Right click Computer, select Manage, and expand Display Adapters. Should tell you what card you're running (if you don't know already, anyway). I'd use that info to get a driver direct from ATI....I've never once had the Windows XP or Vista automatic driver updates work properly.
  23. Read If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor. Back to thumbing through Hagakure, which I have read before, while I wait for things to load.
