I was going to buy a surplus US M9A1 gas mask and just wear it, but the included filter canisters are now at least 50 years old and likely toxic in their own right.

Normally I'd just say "It was me." with an air of defiance but in this case I'm not even sure how I'd pull that off. Also, I'm pretty sure I never had your phone number.

Hating the PM is a Canadian tradition, but Garsk is right. Draw your own conclusions....all you're likely to find is a pandering public message and a poorly hidden agenda no matter which recent PM you look at. Harper's on the right (heh, right) side for the gun registry issue, but for the wrong reasons. The people who fight to keep it are frightened and ignorant, and the people who push for it's demise range from frugal to disturbingly national socialist. He just thinks it'll help him get a majority.

Venture Bros., certainly. I've seen Frisky Dingo fragments a couple times, not enough to judge. Sealab, same thing. Robot Chicken sucks. No idea what Archer is.

Agreed. 2nd half of season 3 starts in September.

the over-shoulder perspective was a bit odd. Didn't make me sick, but having my enemies obscured behing my own body half the time was a little annoying. -
I love Venture Brothers....I caught half an episode of Metalocalypse here and there and didn't think much of it. but something compelled me to start it from the beginning and now I love it.

Yes. Exactly that.

It's not an ability so much as a forum. Presumeably people read my occasional near-psychotic rants too, just because they're here. I've speculated in the past that 'quicksave' would be the ultimate super power, being a sort of Tivo-style time travel. Save, Act, Note Consequences, Load (rewind) if they are unsatisfactory. Though I suspect normally accepted ethics and morals would collapse entirely in the face of such power. I didn't read the essay or whatever it was, I'm just saying some crap.

Another bizarre late night adult-oriented cartoon. Blantant, random ultraviolence aside...it's incredibly entertaining. Go watch it now.

The Losers. Surprisingly, not putrid.

I think it was George Carlin... "People don't mind BEING dead...BEING dead is great! ...but GETTING dead...Nobody wants to GET dead". That's the whole thing though...no one who is alive enough to tell you where you're going can possibly know, because he hasn't been dead yet. We just don't want to believe there's an end to our perception and conciousness. But if that's the way it goes, well...the concept of oblivion is hard to imagine, but it's not nothing as in black and slient, it's nothing. The absense of all consiousness cannot by definition be unpleasent. Nihilism kicking in here...or realism as the case may be.

Dead Space down, Assassin's Creed II in the works. Also, Alien Swarm whenever I get a chance. -
God? Unknowable, by design (human or otherwise). "Faith" doesn't count for anything, because everything is shaped by our perceptions, and as such EVERYONE is delusional. A worldwide phenomenon, but why? Because it's real, or because it's a common phantom of the human psyche? People want to believe 'everything will be ok' Typical religion? Enforced acceptance of ignorance, for better or worse. Rejection of demonstrable scientific processes whenever it is inconvenient to the established dogma. Rampant hypocrisy. Systems of faith based on fear of punishment have always seemed like the construct of a human to me, as a means of maintaining a stranglehold on the populace, whether it's practicioners realise it or not. A system of punishment for eternity makes no sense froma rehabilitation standpoint, so the only other option by human models is that the deity is sadistic. This is the big issue in my mind...as described by most groups I've heard from, God is a child with an ant farm, establishing a set of arbitrary rules and concocting the worst fate imaginable for those who ignore them. The other thing that pisses me of is when people try to tell me morality is only possible through religion. Fuck off. I have no desire to steal, torture, kill, etc, and I don't need the threat of eternal damnation to be something other than a murderous psychopath. While I am not prepared to discount a higher existence in this universe (you can't prove a negative, after all) I am relatively certain that the people who claim to understand it are the worst kind of arrogant.

The only part of that one what was funny was Scruffy. The rest of it seemed unusually random and without any significant closure, like they let someone from Family Guy write it. But yes....let us hope Susan doesn't become canon.

Metro 2033 finished, Dead Space up next. -
One and two were acceptable. I watch #3 last night and it was disturbingly bad....I really hope that one was a fluke.

I don't think anyone can truthfully answer a question like this until they're staring the proposed means of their death in the face.

If that makes you sick, never play ZenoClash -
Halo was only popular because it had things that hadn't been done before on a console shooter. Every feature in it had existed on PCs for years, but the unwashed console-only crowd had never seen them. Back it up with an ad campaign to tell everyone how revolutionary it was going to be....and that's history. The level design was literally copy/paste, and the atmosphere was schizophrenic...comic-relief, squeaky, incompetent alien soldiers one second and doom-and-gloom "look how epic this is" bullshit the next. I bought Metro 2033 but I have to wait until I get back home Friday to play (preload) it.

It'll either be Ep 3/HL3 or Ebola monkeys unleashed upon the crowd.

Aye. It was one of those rare "exactly as good as expected" movies. However, The Jetpack was pushing it and Nicholas Cage lumber mill rampage for the win
