It actually could, given direct but distant exposure to the initial flash.

Hm...that would explain it I guess. I hadn't even really realised that I wasn't seeing commercials any more until you meantioned it.

We called in like four times in two days (including today) and only once did we get someone in North America.

[in response to: Prayer and medical attention? Except atheists get sick, seek medical attention and get well, all without the prayer. Seems the prayer part is a bit....superfluous] Hi I don't agree with you. Many die in the hospitals; in the presence of the Physicians and Surgeons; they were helpless to do anything. Physicians and Surgeons themselves die even taking the latest treatment. Many of them would have survived if they would have prayed also alongwith the treatment by medicine. Prayer as well as medical treatment in essential for cure. Please don't be unrealistic and superstitious. paarsurrey, IIDB [2008-Mar-28] Bonk. -
Dammit. Now I need a supermoto. and just my luck, I really like the Aprilia SXV. Expensive toys... Yama TTR or Honda XR would be nice too. Also, I had no idea Filter did a Crystal Method cover.

That apostrophe really is a travesty, you know. I could fix it, but I won't.

You have failed to make any valid point which cannot be applied to all other common pets.

I'm the administrator of all your PCs. But seriously, who set your system up? While MS generally recommends that regular users should not be Administrators (for fear that they might damage and delete things that are important), I've never seen an OEM computer distributor actually set up an admin account with login info AND a Power User account or whatnot. The hassle of switching accounts to install programs is too great. Not that I deal with a lot of OEM mind you, building my own systems and images and such.

More of a Thunderdome thing, I expect.

MIL-STD-810F tested... ;)

No, it's not a bad thing. Words are added to languages all the time. It's just that in that instance, the French government (or whoever handles these things) stated that the current word was "too English" and actively went out to make up a different word instead of just assimilating. Assimilation is how languages evolve. Generally a word will come into common usage on it's own, then be 'officially' added to the dictionary, etc. this time they said "Here's the new word, everyone stop saying e-mail right now".
-
Just like when France started making up their own words for things thta only had an english equivalent (e-mail = courriele), they are missing the point. Languages evolve over time. You can try to preserve it by continuing to speak it and passing it on to your children and all that mess, but I don't think this should even be a high-profile official issue.

For the record, none of the Vista users I know of have had any serious problems except for myself.

Well that's not quite what I meant, but I'm applying PC stuff to a mac here. by black out I emnant instant power loss, hard shutdown. As for actually shutting down, a softer, sequenced shutdown where services are stopped and some notification is given.
-
How did I miss this? HAHAHAHA!
-
It shut itself down, or just blacked out instantly? If it's the latter, your power supply could be shot...

I'd be more concerned about the monkey. I hate monkeys.

Has it been a year already? Hell.
