Hm...yeah, it's still there, and it additionally lets you ump up several levels in the path...but it is different, yes. some time in the next few days I'm going to have to reinstall Vista because it has stopped recognising new hardware half the time, and MSN as well as various games creash often. That said, I expect most of the blame can be attributed to my old video card which is apparently damaged and forced me to hard reset the system hundreds of times in the past few months.

XP Pro is still the best OS ever, sad as that may be. But Vista is going to force it's way in very shortly so you may as well get used to that.

Someone I knew once disappeared for about a week without telling anyone. I was the last person who had heard from her, on a cell phone as she crossed a large, dark field late at night. Her cell was dead when I called days later. None of her co-workers or family had heard from her either. So I went out on a Friday evening and found her. As it turned out, she was just very sick, hospital sick, and staying at her boyfriend's place without her cell phone charger. Neither of them ever thought to notify anyone...not her work, not her family... So naturally she was pissed off with me for 'upsetting' her grandparents. It was pretty sweet.

We actually got a message on another forum I go to (it's a Team Fortress 2 server I play on, if you must know) about an old member who we hadn't heard from in a while. He had been talking about a potential contract in Iraq as a firetruck mechanic, so we figured he might have gone over there, or just moved on from gaming. His wife apparently knew the server he played on and tracked our forum down. He was killed by a drunk driver last summer. You could leave a notification list if you really wanted people here to know, I suppose. For my part, I'm sure super or any of the others I know would post the good news ;)

Hah! No, I was not. We were in my car with a mutual female friend of ours in the back seat, trying to think of something to do. Super said "I dunno, we could....pork roast (name)..." Then we both laughed very hard. And did so again after we had to explain to her what we were talking about.

I use it, though I'm not entirely certain why. I was one of the last of the people I know to get roped in to it, for the same reason I got roped in to MSN Messenger back in the ICQ days. Everyone I knew switched, and suddenly the metaphorical badgers of peer pressure attacked me from all sides, screaming the name of their chosen E-Communications God like a bunch meth-head cultists. That said, I appreciate it as an incredibly obvious yet stunningly effective forum for targeted, viral advertizing and market research. There's a very good reason the creator is a billionaire.
