I think these experiments are important whether they help or not. And I have no problem with my tax dollars going to help people who are in over their head and really do need help. I have more of a problem with my tax dollars going to some lazy ass bonehead who can't get off his ass to find a job when he's perfectly capable but is too comfortable with his welfare cheque. Trying things to help the drug problem is better than just trying to pretend it doesn't exist. And if anyone really doesn't know what it's like here in Vancouver, next time your in town, check out the downtown east side. I've been through there a million times and it still blows me away that such a place exists.

I think STV is a fantastic idea. I do agree that there seems to be more room for error, but hopefully everyone will take their time to learn the way it works and people counting the votes don't pull a Florida.

I think you're maybe being a little sensitive. You're "thoughtful, intelligent" questions are the same topics people have been tossing around here for months. Everyone knows he doesn't like Audio of Being and he doesn't care if other people like it. What did you expect? And as for the live album question, that's a yes or no question, he gave you much more than a "No". He even gave you a reason. If you want big answers, ask big questions that require big answers. And stop whinning and go listen to "Free Downloading Blues".

And in terms of the government talking about missle defence, there was talk of it leading up to the rejection, and then talk after the rejection. Yeah, that was on of those things I watched on the news that I wish I hadn't. I sort of think that they shouldn't be allowed to show something that graphic because it shouldn't be glorified, but on the other hand, I watched and it disturbed me and maybe it's good for people to actually see how horrible something like that it. That way people can keep a more realitic perspective, rather than picturing everything like it happens in a movie.

It was open for all members here to ask questions. So if you wanted more decisive questions, then where were you?

You're twisting my argument. but he has a point. come on, pearanoid.. defend alcohol. i dare you. Just go back and read my posts. I am all for legalizing pot. I think if it's monitored the same way as alcohol, then it can work. But someone came along and said that it's okay to drive high. And I said no it's not. It's not okay to drive drunk either. Even worse I'd say. And my reasons for not smoking pot are back there too. I drink. I like beer. But I'm not stupid and I don't drive if I've been drinking. Of course he has a point, and it goes right along with all my points. You know it, you're just trying to get a rise out of me. Satisfied?

I think it completely depends on the person. But I do think that anyone in high school is too young to have sex. I know most people do have sex in high school, I did, but I really think that's too young. I've learned a lot in my older years.

I don't think the law will have any bearing on what kids actually do, unless things get out of control. But as far as consentual sex goes, I'm sure by 14, some people think they're ready and other aren't. When I was 14 I wouldn't have a clue what to do, but I know others who did. Still, most people have sex at too young an age. I think the real problem is education. They tell you the mechanics of it in school, but they don't really tackle the emotional part of it. Sure it feels good, but you can do that part yourself. It's tough, but I think parents really need to explain sex in whole different way and not be so afraid to talk about it. And yes, this is general comment aimed at North America. I'm sure there are lots of parents who do talk about it more openly and I know it's more common in other countries.

I'm glad you said "was" an idiot. He learned from it and it was enough to scare him away from pot forever. And yeah, I think it is a minor problem now, but it's still something that should be thought about. Especially if people are going to defend driving high. That may be the bigger problem. Sorry, mrs jesus, but I'm just going to have to strongly disagree with you on this issue.
