I really don't like religion. I have a few religious friends and they are actually some of the most open minded and giving people I know. But there's also the side that preaches bigotry and hate which really drives me crazy. I think a lot of people have suffered because of religion. I think too many wars have been fought over religious differences. But if you really look at it, relgion is often an excuse when the war is actually fought over money, power, or simply land. And opression is a big one too, but not necessarily religious oppresion. It's easy to blame a lot of bad stuff on religion simply because it's an often used excuse by those doing the bad things. But I'm still very anti-religion, but to each their own, just don't try and force it on me.

I checked out some stuff because I said I would, and they're okay. I don't think I'd really listen to them though. However, if I did then I'd be excited to see them at The Commodore because the Commodore rocks!

Dashboard Comfessional was supposed to "break" emo to the mainstream but I don't think it ever happened. Emo in small doses can be tollerable, but overall it's a little too much. Taking Back Sunday, Saves The Day, All American Rejects, that kind of stuff is emo. It's pretty much pop-punk, but with more lyrics about breaking up and maybe not as mainstream. It's really a silly classification. I read that someone also coined the term "Screamo" and applied it to Thursday. That's even stupider. Yeah, stupider.

He's actually going to do a duet with Avril Lavigne for some Canadian musician compilation. Oh, April Fools! I'm lame.

Go rent the British version instead. They don't look like actors in the British version and the material works better as a British show. I just found it hard to watch the exact same script performed by American actors. It just doesn't work as well.

I really don't think he covers a lot of songs. I've seen him live several times and I've never heard one. Except Enjoy The Silence but that was on an EP so it's not a big surprise. But do check out "Can't Explain", It's fun.

Okay, Jared, I get what you're trying to say. But you can't really tell people they need to get a life outside of Matthew Good. I'm sure everyone here has a life. But this is a Matt Good forum, so of course everyone here is going to talk about Matt Good. It's not really a fair assessment. I come here to kill time when it's slow at work. I really like Matt's solo career. I still have enjoyed MGB better, and Beautiful Midnight is one of my top fav albums, but I also think the band reached it's end because it was done. Not just because they fought, but musically they were done. Avalanche was great, probably my second favorite album. I'm looking forward to the new stuff. Some people just need to keep their thoughts to themsleves.

It's Europe man. It has a good fan base in North America, but those Europeans just eat it up! I never actually watch the show, I just see what I see at work. Although I have to say I quite enjoy Atlantis. I guess that's just the nerd in me. But now this is a Stargate thread. Quick someone say something cool about Macgyver! Their music has been pretty good since, but it just hasn't had quite the impact on me. They've changed a bit with each record, and I keep buying them, but nothing's really quite as good as Throwing Copper. That was one of my favorite albums in Grade 10. I guess "V" was a pretty good album too.

I liked that last episode when he and his son used air tanks or something as rocket packs to blast out of the boat they were being held in. That was cool. And I think he'll be in some of season 9. I've heard rumours and maybe seen some things that I can't talk about.

The topic of this thread and the issue of legalizing drugs are 2 very different things.

My favorite statement in this whole thread is that Matt doesn't look like a drug user. Exactly what the fuck does a drug user look like? I think you'd be surprised how well some people can hide it. Not that I'm trying to say Matt was a drug user, I have no idea and don't really care. He still makes good music. I'm just trying to bring some sense to this mess.
