Haha, you do realize I was making a really lame joke about Jerry Seinfeld right? My whole post made no sense whatsoever; it was complete ignorance.

Shade's Album Upload Topic
Monochrome Rainbow replied to shade's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
Yeah, it's kinda twangy at times for sure. It is really good though; Back Home Weather, Downtown, City of Lakes, and Where Are You Going are all great tracks. It grows on you a lot too after a few listens. You should hear a Guthries album; Matt Mays played in that band before going solo and they were really country/bluegrass. Anyway: Joel Plaskett - In Need Of Medical Attention First Plaskett solo record. My least favourite album of all the JP/E but it's still pretty good. Some stand-up tracks on here; check out News Of Your Son, I'd Rather Be Deadly Than Dead, and Powerful Lights. http://www.sendspace.com/file/j0j9w6 Joel Plaskett Emergency - Truthfully, Truthfully This is for soundless and audio. It's a pretty sweet album, you guys will love it. http://www.sendspace.com/file/602pwc Mirah - Advisory Committee This is her second album and was released in 2001. Mirah is a singer-songwriter from Philadelphia. Cold, Cold Water is one of my favourite tracks of hers. http://www.sendspace.com/file/1wrhim Explosions In The Sky - Those Who Tell The Truth Shall Die, Those Who Tell The Truth Shall Live Forever Decent band from Austin, Texas (like many other great acts). Pretty rock-y stuff. Apparently this album was rumoured to be linked to the 9/11 terrorist attacks because the original album art showed an airplane on the cover with a caption reading "this plane will crash tomorrow" and the album was released in late August of 2001. People are retarded. http://www.sendspace.com/file/fxheh2 -

Haha, did I seriously upload some already? I'll check. Edit: Fuck. Yeah, 2 of those 3 albums (La De Da and Down At The Khyber) were uploaded earlier in the thread. Oh well, at least others get another chance to get them. If anyone likes the Plaskett and wants more I'll upload Truthfully, Truthfully; that's a sweet Emergency album. I have In Need Of Medical Attention too, which is the first solo Plaskett album and is harder to find now from my understanding. -
I fuckin' hate that stupid piece of shit fuckhead and his lame ass sitcom. Fuckin' Kramer is just as bad he he was! Good riddance!!

Let me know what you think, Beth. Like I said it's more folk-ish but I still really enjoy the album. When The Angels Make Contact is still my favourite overall though for sure. Be sure to give some of the JP(E) a shot too. Good stuff. -

Chris mentioned Joel Plaskett earlier so I've uploaded some stuff from him and the Emergency. Joel Plaskett Emergency - Down At The Khyber Released in 2001, this is the first JPE album. Check it out. http://www.sendspace.com/file/srx52l Joel Plaskett - La De Da This is Joel Plaskett's most recent solo release and probably the easiest to get into. If you only pick one to download you'll probably enjoy this one more initially. http://www.sendspace.com/file/d4w8rk Joel Plaskett Emergency - Ashtray Rock (album art attached below as I could not find one via google image search) I was debating not uploading this one because it just came out a few weeks ago but whatever. It's got a very nostalgic feel to it and it's also available on vinyl so people may feel inclined to pick that up (I definitely plan to next time I see him in concert). This album is a concept album based on a story of two teens in a band that fall in love with the same girl. It's straight up catchy rock for the most part, much like Plaskett's other releases. http://www.sendspace.com/file/4ssyc9 Matt Mays - Matt Mays This is Matt Mays' debut album. I uploaded his most recent release as well as the Matt Mays + El Torpedo album and it was received pretty well so I figured I'd throw this out for download. It's a lot more folky than the other two albums. http://www.sendspace.com/file/gl96dg The Tragically Hip - Up To Here This is the first full length release from The Hip and also their best, in my opinion. Enjoy. http://www.sendspace.com/file/xex7x2 Tom Waits - Mule Variations Released in 1999. Pretty solid album overall. Listen to the last track if nothing else; it's fantastic. http://www.sendspace.com/file/4595p8 Edit: Broken link. -
You're absolutely correct. Enlighten me.

Say Something About The Nfer Above You

Should tell me about cool places in Winnipeg and Manitoba in general, as I'm planning a cross country trip next summer. -
Hahaha, that's fucked up. That would be crazy if we were in a fight club, man. I don't know how many times I've woken up in the past two weeks feeling really wiped and sore, hahaha. I'm pretty sure it was a nosebleed. I think I briefly remember waking up and sliding my head down to get more comfortable (I don't know if anyone does this but you place one pillow partly over another and sleep at the part where the two pillows overlap and occasionally slide down to where there is only one pillow underneath your head) and feeling like my ear just got really wet but I was too tired to care. I'm pretty sure that happened. But yeah, I feel perfectly fine and don't regret my choice of barbecuing and boozing all day. Also, one of my friends was telling me about how when women live together their cycles match up and how everyone on her floor in university menstruated at the same time. Weird. Edit: With an eargina I really could have eargasms while listening to good music. That'd be weird.

I'd rather have 320kb/s over 128 (anything below 192kb/s really). I hate the fact that some stuff here has been uploaded at 128; it shouldn't even be possible to do that. 192 is my preferred as it is the best compromise between download time (and hd space) and quality.Variable bit rate is good too (really this make more sense than constant bit rate, I have no idea why I still encode at 192 CBR). Also, this is long overdue and talking about this reminded me of it... shade, I REALLY appreciate the fact that your library is so organized. I download everything you upload because I know it's going to be encoded at 192kb/s and that I won't have to attempt to re-download if I happen to like what I hear. Not only that but everything is labeled exactly as I would. For one, it's clean and uniform. Even better, its labeled as track number, hyphen, track name. I don't have to clean up your files at all and you provide album art and year of release. I've rarely ever had to tag your files at all once importing them to iTunes and it's not a big deal to me considering how much you upload. So yeah, thanks man. -
What's The Last Thing You've Eaten?
Monochrome Rainbow replied to Prometheon's topic in Open Discussion
Spicy italian sausages. Getting ready to enjoy some iced tea I made last night with fresh mint, lemon and chamomile tea. Also got some steak and burgers on the grill. -
my pillow was loaded with blood and the side of my face/in my ear was all covered in dried blood. I don't see any scratches or openings or anything... Seems like it came from my ear as there was way more up there... I can hear fine. There was also build-up around my nose so I guess it could have just been a bad nosebleed. Should I waste a beautiful sunny Saturday by going to get checked out or continue to enjoy the sunshine on my deck and BBQ and drink? Edit: Typos.

Yeah, man. I can't wait for it to arrive. I liked Ladybug so much that I just assumed everything else will at least be worth owning. And ska isn't exactly my thing but there are definitely some good ska acts out there. -

I use Stuffit Deluxe and it works great. Stuffit Expander is free although you can only expand files, you can't actually compress or anything. http://www.stuffit.com/mac/expander/index.html

Yeah, I kinda have to agree... It sounds lame plainly saying that you're covering a cover or not paying tribute to the original artist. Having said that it's definitely okay to say that an artist's cover has inspired you to do your own version of the song. Edit: It's so fucked up because it's just wrong to not give credit to the original artist but there's nothing wrong with enjoying a cover more than an original. And if saying a covered version of a song is what really shows you how powerful that piece of work is and inspires you to play your own version; isn't that kind of like saying you're covering the cover? Especially if you do not care for the original at all? I haven't decided what I think anymore but I might as well post before everyone reads the original comment alone. I'll comment more later after I think through it more heavily. It definitely sounds retarded to say that you're covering a cover though... And seems disrespectful to the original composer.
