  1. I think this actually looks pretty damn cool.
  2. Already found it when I called Alderney Landing, but thanks buddy. Got my two tickets.
  3. Good to know. I'll give them a call.
  4. Where'd you get your ticket Chris?? I've been trying to find out who is selling them.
  5. I burnt a 20 pack of CD's worth of the Edmonton show and gave some to people at work I thought would like it and dropped the rest off at random places over a weekend. Mostly downtown in cafes and stuff.
  6. Werd. Yeah.
  7. Seriously? I could only think of like, 2 all ages shows there within the past year. And one was Joel Plaskett who did an all ages and 19+ show on the New Year's Eve weekend.
  8. I'll be there!!
  9. HAha, see you there Chris! And sockcrotch: I'm thinking 99% chance it's not all ages.
  10. I would do that no problem. Although closest place he would play to Halifax if he wasn't going to lay here is Montreal. That's a 16 hour drive. Don't know if I could (or should) really afford that.
  11. Yeah, that's alright. I'm talking throughout the entire movie though. It's ridiculous. They could have done that at home or on a street corner for fucks sakes. Why even pay $10-$20 for a movie and expensive refreshments if you're just gonna play video games the whole time?
  12. I'll rent/download it and probably be thankful I didn't see it in theatres. Also, does anyone else notice an increase in gamers bringing PSP's and shit to the movies?? It's fucking distracting going to the theatres and seeing these little bright screens everywhere in the audience. Why the fuck would you even do that?? Fuckin' teenagers.
  13. Meh, good music can make up for okay lyrics. Good lyrics can make up for okay music. I find it harder to get past bad lyrics than bad music.
  14. Awesome Muran, thanks a lot! ;)
  15. Dave Matthews Band are really good; I wouldn't take any offense to anyone liking them over MGB. I prefer MGB but DMB are very talented.
  16. Is there a copy of this floating around anywhere? I did a quick search and came up empty. And yeah, I'm a big fan of the covers on Johnny Cash's American Recordings too, Monkey. Wouldn't go as far as saying they're all better than the originals but they are all good.
  17. David Usher - Get This Party Started Johnny Cash - Personal Jesus Metallica - Whiskey In The Jar Obadiah Parker - Hey Ya Pearl Jam - Last Kiss Shinedown - Simple Man
  18. Matt Mays - Lost Souls (Solo Acoustic version) It came comin' from far away Riding along plains, Down through the rivers and streams To visit me in a dream I left my life behind Buried it in the sand Maybe I'll get back someday and dig it up again Lost souls stay gone for good To keep a satisfied mind I saw it comin' from far away It was fallin' down with the rain Movin' from the rivers and streams Shot it right into the vein I left my life behind I buried it in the sand Maybe I'll get back someday and dig it up again Maybe I'll get back someday and dig it up again And dig it up again Lost souls stay lost for good Keep your satisfied mind Disappear into the night Lost souls stay gone It's a tune about artists and the sacrifices you make for your art, basically. Edit: Forgot we're actually supposed to talk about the songs a bit. This particular version does way more for me than the full band one with El Torpedo. Especially the chorus; I find whenever I hear it my brain just blocks out everything around me and I almost feel kind of empty and there's this strong sadness when I think about some particular people I know that have lost a lot to continue to make music. I always get these images in my head of certain friends wedged in a corner smoking a cigarette or drinking and I see Picasso's "The Old Guitarist" as if it were right in front of me.
  19. Top Five Letters of the alphabet: J A S O N AHHHHH-HAHAHAHAHA!!! I'm funny! L-O-L!
  20. That Dylan "cover" blows fuckin' ass. It'd probably sound nice if it was an actual performance (or the song in it's entirety) rather than 30 seconds of strumming and Matt trying to figure out the words. Isn't that some audio ripped from the filming of a video or something? Rufus Wainwright is cool though. Never heard that cover. I should check it out. Same with Wilco's version of the Daniel Johnston tune.
