For some reason beer just hits me harder than liquor. I can do 8 shots of vodka and be pretty normal, but 4 beers and I'm FUCKED. I don't really get it.

Totally agree on that one...if I drink a pitcher to myself in an hour I'm doing pretty good. But if I have a tonne of, lets say Wisers, I'm fine....until I drink the 26er then I don't remember much ;)

My tolerance is all whacked out. Bottled beer I can drink forever. Vodka + whatever mixer I can drink and get smashed, but still be ok. Draft beer however, will fuck me up something fierce if I get up around 5 or 6 pints, resulting in spins, headaches and hangovers.

Not that it stops me from drinking it, but still.

I honestly don't know. I've always just guessed it had something to do with carbonation.

Carbonation shouldn't have anything to do with it. Theoretically speaking, the same types of beer from a bottle or keg are the same. Although a draught beer probably has a small amount of carbonation lost due to the head formed during pouring.

x number pints of Canadian will have a worse effect on me than equal parts bottled Canadian would. If that's what you mean.

 

Not necessarily in terms of intoxication, but more the hangover.
