  1. when saw the first bit of the trailer in theatres, i thought it was going to be ghost rider or something.
  2. NO! Those are the powers that the Scarlet Witch has (had?) and by using them wiped out 90% of the mutants on the planet!!! reality altering powers = bad! she just went nuts and couldnt control it. okokokok i want cosmic consciousness instead. and some sort of superpower to go with it in order to be able to act on what i see in my brain to some extent. any suggestions?
  3. i'd like to be able to alter reality. that'd be a cool superpower. metaphysics. id be able to do whatever i wanted.
  4. one of my favorite actors teaming up with one of my favorite directors. GOLDEN. http://wip.warnerbros.com/scienceofsleep/
  5. just saw it. one of my favorite movies this year.
  6. no one's mentionned mark arm, but i didnt really expect anyone to either. he's cool. no chris cornell or nothin, but he's good.
  7. i am indeed. dancing hitler and everything.
  8. wintersleep played my frosh on thursday. theyre way better live than recorded.
  9. Spiritualized - "I Think I'm in Love"
  10. this movie has potential. if the story sucks, it will at least be stunning visually. Trailer
  11. i love it. a lot of the recommendations it makes are bands that i've heard and dont listen to for a reason, but there are also quite a few recommendations that it makes that i am quite thankful for. i also just like knowing who i listen to and how often. it helps me keep from listenning to too much of the same.
  12. they first posted the song on myspace in its entirety, by posting it in halves. then for whatever reason, they decided to just post a shorter version which may or may not be how it sounds on the radio.
  13. i hate to say it, but at least tom's shitass music doesnt still sound like blink 182. i used to favor mark's voice, but now that i'm not 13, he just sounds like a weiner.
  14. YES! what a good series. although i havent actually gotten around to finishing it yet...
  15. elliot smith - "behind the bars"
  16. she's better solo, however theyre a pretty good live band. i saw them last year and theyre playing during my frosh week so i may go check it out.
  17. it was a cover album... what did you expect? EDIT: not only that, but it and amotion were made solely to fulfil their contractual obligations with "vagina" records.
  18. are we talking about within the grunge period only? because some have had the luxury of a long(er) life and its kindof unfair to pit chris cornell of now against kurt cobain.
  19. maybe you didnt like it because you couldnt get the name right.
  20. i forgot to mention mudhoney as well. specifically every good boy deserves fudge but a lot of the albums are pretty darn good.
  21. if tool are to be considerred metal, than they're metal with brains. most people wouldnt catagorize them as straightup metal because their roots aren't limited to the genre. the widely accepted label seems to be "alt-metal", which is somewhat appropriate because they embrace elements of prog-rock, industrial, "punk", jazz, metal, etc. the only reason why i would be reluctant to call them metal at all is that i can't think of any metal band that preceeded them who they actual sound similar to. the only bands that i can think of are either ones who started out around the same time (melvins, janes addiction) or current bands like neurosis or isis. tool's heavy tendencies mainly resemble those of the band swans, a band known for slow, almost gregorian paces but who were still able to be crushingly heavy and intense. swans were one of the heaviest bands of all time and aren't considerred "metal" whatsoever. APC aren't really metal, but they've often described themselves as black sabbath meets the cure.
