  1. You do realize that Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page basically created every guitar riff that exists right? Regardless of if you hate them or not, they do not or will not ever suck. this is opinion. it says so in the title of the thread. and i dont give a fuck about guitar riffs, i hate that kind of music. they just pcik random notes, i like stuff that u dont have to be stoned to like. also, they do suck. and jason, rise against do suck. they are not talented. any monkey can put together songs with the same chords and stuff. for every single song. i cant tell when one starts and another begins ok back to things i hate. slayer creed any other old rock that i didnt mention slayer are awesome in my books. but i happen to like face-melting riffs in songs about slitting throats and satan. plus, dave lombardo is one of the most talented drummers ever. you just dislike everything that's dated? is that what you mean by old rock?
  2. i think its safe to say that punk rock never actually existed.
  3. props to that anton. although, if i was in hell and all they had was bad radio (like edge 102 for instance) i'd rather listen to them than a lot of other crap thats out there. like fall out boy. luleelurah.
  4. don't let people fool you into thinking that undertow stinks. i had that opinion for quite some time and realized only recently how wrong i was. you'll really miss out if you overlook or underestimate that album.
  5. made me laugh. although not as good as "my bologna" or other great al tunes.
  6. i thought it was pure shit. nice to look at, but really not worth seeing. brandon routh was alright as supes, but bosworth was awful and kevin spacey has been bald and evil before and did it better the first time. its main flaw was that it was horribly written. i've read only a handful of superman comics in my time, but none were as bad as this. seeing as how this film takes place after superman II , you'd think they'd remember to include the fact that clark revealed his identity to lois... well they didnt bother to address it whatsoever and as a result it kindof leaves the movies with this huge continuity error. consequently, i had a lot of time in the theatre to think about how much i didnt like the character superman. the whole deal about having him working at a newspaper but no one is smart enough there to figure out who he really is, even the chick he comes face-to-face with often or the punk kid who is constantly photographing the man of steel. not to mention how the dude has all these powers but decides to spend his time handling petty crime in one goddamn city. instead of... oh.. i dont know... foreign aid or something. at least batman's purpose is to contend with something challenging. cleaning up a city is fine for that character because its a task that's much larger than he and relevant to his personal life.
  7. im somewhat excited about it.... but i cant imagine myself liking it too much since it's for kids.
  8. you sir, are hilarious. i'll see it. i dont think the film is necessary to make, but it looks better than united 93 did.
  9. i have it but i dont enjoy it as much as the screwyness of myspace. i keep it around because a lot of people from highschool use it and its a good way to keep in touch with people you still like but dont talk to every day with on MSN. and of course, just like the other internet social networking websites, its great for crusing for hotties in your area ;) .
  10. i would defend my country depending upon the circumstances. the fact that it would be against the americans isn't enough to motivate me, despite my feelings toward that country's foreign policy and policies in general. if for some reason, for the sake of the arguement... i felt that canada was actually out of line in something they did or were doing, i would not fight for this country. i would only fight for this country if i agreed with the reasons for doing so. and like others have said, i might not enlist, but i would certainly help out in other ways.
  11. from the new york times...
  12. god i hate those bands. i saw ill scarlet once at the masonic lodge... not cool. i don't get why they're so big here.
  13. it was a good flick. not sure how it rates among the rest yet, i need some time to think about it. maybe see it again.
  14. the columns have some good advice occasionally, but its advice that's relevant to anyone and everyone, not just people who are born under a specific star pattern. saying i need to "play it safe on the 17th" is a way of sounding specific, but when is it ever bad to play it safe? when people are aware of their horoscopes, they then look for things they would otherwise be unaware of, and interpret their horoscope according to what's going on in their life. saying horoscopes are true is like saying numerology is a science.
  15. rather than stop the shelling of lebanon, we just evacuate our own and call that a resolution... retaliation of any sort is being justified by the west's inaction towards anything israel does. lovely.
  16. i dont consider working with prime producers like timbaland selling out. i think folklore was a step in the right direction, but it wasn't executed very well because she wanted to bring her fans along for the ride. that didnt happen. she did end up alienating a lot of her following. if she wanted to make a change, i dont think it should've been done so drastically.
  17. new song/first single "original fire" has been made available for streaming on their website. http://www.audioslave.com/ also, in response to what computer said: tom morello is part black. his father was a kenyan guerilla/revolutionary and his uncle was kenya's first ever elected president.
  18. yeah man, they get me totally stoked.
  19. i think if chris had a magic potion that he could drink to stop his voice from getting worse and worse and if tom morello would be badass again, and if they got someone other than rick rubin to produce a record, i'd listen to them a bunch more.
  20. im tempted to go to that one, but i dont really know his stuff well. i just have heard lots abotu the guy. i wouldnt mind seeing these shows: elliott brood seu jorge maybe the metric show at fort york w/ holy fuck, secret machines and the fiery furnaces...
  21. now that i hear the song all the time, its definitely lost its appeal to my ears. screw this band. also, led zeppelin? they sound nothing like led zeppelin. or the mars volta for that matter.
  22. flood and alan moulder though.. that makes me want to cry sortof... maybe their presence will make the killers better? i doubt it, but seeing as how they're probably going to be all over the radio again, id rather enjoy it than not.
