grinderman is up there for me. i don't think i can pick a favorite overall, though. i've got a list in the works, and i'll post MP3s to go along with it. i agree with some of the albums already listed, namely QOTSA, matt, and the national. i'd also like to add: spoon - gagagagaga battles - mirrored and the dillinger escape plan - ire works

AUDIO OF BEING COME BACK! you're a really good matthew good album and uh... we're jerks sometimes. don't take it to heart. not everyone appreciates ol' walrus the same way you do is all. i think people may have been a bit blunt, but what else is the internet for, but strength in anonymity??? anywho, my point: you're a good guy for making this thread, but people are entitled to say what they want. like eric said, it makes this thread interesting. -
no country for old men. awesome.

christmas time is a bitch for CD making, i realize. i'm hoping mid-january. i think that's realistic. i want it to be long enough a period so that people can make their CDs, but i also want it to be short enough that people don't lose interest. -

give me a break. you responded to my post! why can't i respond to yours? you say that you aren't trying to prove a thing, and yet you say something as retarded as "It's not my problem if you don't know quality songwriting when you hear it." am i supposed to just let comments like those fly? why are you suddenly insulting my taste in music? can't i have a different opinion? especially seeing as how i've listened to the music and then formed my opinion, as opposed to your musical-opinion-through-magic method which i haven't fully grasped yet. don't take "arguing" to be such a negative thing. clearly you like this band. clearly, i do not. let's talk. your comment didn't make sense and i was merely pointing that out. actually, your entire post didn't make much sense. ;)   (8) (8) (8)   you're the one who's getting all moody and defensive. yes, but he wasn't apart of any of the recording processes. he did appear in the music videos, though! handsome devil. liner notes!!! he should've at least appeared on broken, but wasn't involved at all as far as i can tell. -
The Bored Cd Exchange

ive put myself in charge of organizing this beast. but i've only received three mailing addresses so far. also, i'm waiting to see if anyone else might want to sign up. i'll pull names out of a hat, and then assign people to people that way. once i've done that, i'll PM everyone the person's name and address whom they're supposed to send their mixed CD to. from there, it's up to you if you want to keep it a secret/surprise sort of deal. i'll also set a date for everyone to have their CD's mailed out by. that way, things will hopefully take the same amount of time to get around, and we can start the discussion thread about who's mix we got, what we liked, etc etc. sound good? also, meg, you're the only person referred to as a person because we know each other on a first name basis. right? RIGHT? eric is the rat who would be king because i thought that if i just wrote his real name, no one would know who i was referring to. BURN. no, not really. -

i have heard it. that's what i'm basing my argument on: the fact that i've heard his music and disliked it. i take it you're not very good at arguing? which are???? i have a bit of a problem with people who don't take the time to even put to words what it is that they like/dislike about an artist. how does the fact that they don't interest you prove your point? he gets off comparing himself to NIN because NIN doesn't really interest you at all?? did you bother reading what you typed before you hit the 'add reply' button? even though you haven't heard it or know what they sound like at all, you're more than certain that filter appeal to you more. wow, richard patrick really is a great songwriter. i'm convinced. -

Annuals - Be He Me (2006) quirky, carefree, upbeat, clever, amazing music. reminds me of broken social scene if they were consistent and weren't endorsed so much by the "indies." fucking indies. Deerhunter - Cryptograms (2007) noise+shoegaze+psych=kickass record -
he's taken, but you might have a shot.

i think richard patrick is a decent vocalist, but i don't think he writes very good music. i'm somewhat looking forward to hearing what he did with wes borland, based on their previous collaboration in the damning well. although given' borland's own musical ventures as of late, perhaps i shouldn't be THAT excited. where does he get off comparing himself to al jourgensen (who just disbanded ministry- way to use a dated example), or again mentioning NIN as though he were some integral part of that band? as far as i know, he contributed one guitar part to pretty hate machine. the liner notes say exactly this: "drone guitar at end of sanctified. richard patrick" hilarious. that about sums it up, trent.
