I have ultra-rare (as in '1934 grainy Loch Ness Monster photo' rare) footage from the Calgary show of the vague Matthew Good Band (yes there used to be a "Band") song called "Load Me Up" for tradesies. Ullllltra rare......;)

Pretty sweet set. Won't lie - kinda wish we got Kid and No Liars in Calgary. But we did get Girls in Black :)

Wow....that tops the shoe-throwing show I was at in Regina. Here's the bizarre part: a good chunk of the crowd was ticked the band didn't come back onstage for an encore. Geez...ya think????

Fortunately where my wife & I were seated for the Calgary show (about 4 rows back, right side) the crowd was great. In our section we were sitting, but for me it was because the rows in front of me were seated. I don't want to be the guy that's the first to stand up and block people's view :) I'm fine with that. But by the encore a bunch of people from further back left their seats and got up right by the stage so we were standing then. And I think a casino venue draws out a certain crowd too...not just long time Matt Good fans but also the "hey lets go to the casino and play slots and that Dave Matthews Timebomb guy is playing too" crowd. One of my favourite shows so far has been one of the Jack Singer concerts....just because the acoustics are soooo good there. It was great just to see and hear the band's performance. Speaking of this performance - my wife is more of a "casual" Matt Good fan but she thought this was one of his more intense performances. She thought he was "really strung out" and "on something" but I told her I don't think Matt's the type of guy who's "on" anything lol. Just a lot of emotion in his songs which sometimes come from some pretty dark places. I think it was the Girls in Black performance that did it for her...the crouching in the stage and then whatever else happened near the end of the song (couldn't really see Matt at the end of the song because of the crowd in front)

I just got the email too saying I could get a refund if I wanted. NEVER, Matthew Good, I will NEVER accept my money back!!!! You keep it, I know you're good for it!!! Muhahahah!!!!!

That's always the risk...getting stuck next to drunken idiots. Where were your seats? Ours were just in front of Bones, about 4 or 5 rows back. Fans around us were great.

Single Explosion was a great opener, and Girls in Black a phenomenal closer (almost a Born to Kill intensity to it). Matt's mic cut out partway through the "like tetracide" part. Awesome having Automatic back in the rotation. Advertising was a highlight. I almost need to go to 2 shows....one where I can just enjoy it as a fan and another so I can video the songs :) Til next time....

Agreed on the lineup - and I haven't even been to a show yet this fall. I'm missing Anthony Wright, but vids of the concerts so far show that they are pulling it off pretty well.

Wow - thx for posting! I can't believe how awesome this sounds live! Man, they are in FIRE! And no disrespect to the other guitarists who have toured with Matt, but Stu is absolutely killing it - every single time. Does the guy ever have an off-day??

Wow...19 songs??!?! Which means Girls in Black was an add-on because it's not on the setlist that Matt posted on Instagram. Single Explosion is so awesome live, what a great surprise that is for you guys!! Getting more and more stoked for Calgary. Here's my problem though - I keep waking up in the middle of the night wanting to check The Bored to see the set lists and reviews of the shows....this is seriously inhibiting my sleeping pattern....

Throw Moment into this and you've got the perfect set list IMO. Hope something like this for Calgary!!
