  1. You're quite welcome! I think, as adam_777 has suggested, that it was not present. I checked a few of the other live videos taken from this tour and it does seem to be absent. Perhaps an afterthought, or maybe someone packed it and it was forgotten for a few dates, but yeah - a very cool touch! And yeah, I agree. I lurked on this board for a long time, but I was a part of old communities (especially The Metro/Nation of Cool) and it seemed like a race to who could pick a fight with Matt the quickest. As for longtime fans supporting him, tomorrow is my 16th show over thirteen years. I'll always go because I love it and because the man has inestimably contributed to my life!
  2. Hamilton. I found a video I took where you can see it pretty nicely. Just let me figure out how to post videos. Edit: I uploaded it to Youtube. It's a clip from Weapon during Saturday's performance. You are looking to the back of the stage, to Blake's left. It's not super sharp, but I was sixth row centre and I kept staring at it the whole night with a wide smile on my face. Fellow Wednesday Toronto show attendees .... note this position tomorrow night and you will see it! Edit: Can also be seen in this video of Going all the Way (you can see it in the thumbnail, actually)
  3. Sorry if this has been asked before, but did anyone notice that the monkey mask was on stage the whole time? Beside Blake on a mic stand? Amazing touch ...
  4. Taking Back Sunday tunes to check out ... Bonus Mosh Pt. II, New American Classic, Ghost Man on Third (Start with GMoT -- great chorale singing at the end). Yeah, actually, it's funny you mention Death Cab because they played at TURF with Jimmy Eat World and our boy Matt this past summer and were less than exceptional. I left before they finished because I didn't want to get stuck in crowd traffic.
  5. I saw Jimmy last summer at TURF; they put on a great show, and their technical proficiency is very good live. I find that Jim can lack a little bit of personality at times on stage, but that is just my own personal opinion. I also saw Jimmy in 2004 when they played on a co-headlining bill with Taking Back Sunday to tour the album Futures. Taking Back Sunday put on one of the best shows I've ever seen and Jimmy was ....disappointing. They played short and Jim himself seemed sick/off ...I think they only played for about 55 minutes. It was a bit strange, in fact, but everyone is entitled to a night off.
  6. Aww shit, I was in there around that time, so we must have unknowingly been very close. Let's figure out something next time!
  7. Yeah, I was six rows back, dead center and the mix was perfect. Light shows used to provoke my anxiety in a very terrifying way, but it would seem that I have crossed that bridge and enjoyed this one immensely. I will echo the statements made above in praise of Stu's performance style - that sway makes me feel every last note he plays and I am comfortable enough at this point to say that I enjoy his lead stylings more than even Dave Genn's. Maybe that's just my own tastes evolving, but I love Stu. Not going to lie guys, many songs in this set made me get all misty eyed and emotional. When an album is as tied to a specific group of memories and time of your life as this one is for me, you run the emotional gamut hearing tunes live that you never thought you'd head. I don't think I could see during I Miss New Wave, I was flowing so much haha There was one person during the VIP who was screaming out song requests and being belligerent. She also did not seem to understand that the format of the VIP involved voting ahead of time ....her attitude seemed to be DANCE MONKEY DANCE, rather than so many others that were just super chill and there to enjoy a nice low key event/humbling experience meeting the man. She didn't ruin it or anything, but the air in the room kinda seemed to change every time there was an outburst.
  8. I wonder where you were, because I was also at the VIP and didn't hear that...but that is very cool. You must've been ahead of me. My girlfriend and I were one body away from him, but that guy dispersed and Matt smiled at me and said thank you for coming. Love even getting to meet him again, VIP is worth it for the catharsis alone.
  9. I Yeah, I was going to mention this earlier, but you are including Avalanche and onward blogs as well - which is not in book form :) Thanks for doing this!
  10. Like Emma, I just got an email saying it's at 3:30 for the Hamilton show. Thanks for following up, bud!
  11. My show is next Saturday .... haven't seen anything. Not getting worried, but wondering why the delay at this point ... I think I will email them.
  12. Question on the VIP -- Did the promo company email you guys and let you know the time to be at the venue for it and what to do and where to lineup and all that guff? They did it last tour around, I am just attending the Hamilton VIP in 8 days and I haven't received anything (that I know of) .
  13. You're quite welcome! That's such a coincidence, very cool! You'll feel right at home on the Danforth, then.
  14. Absolutely. I saw them open for Snow Patrol about ten years ago! This will be my second time seeing Deftones. My girlfriend loves them mostly; they sound almost exactly like their recorded work. Very good live. Good to know about Rise Against ... more of a casual fan of theirs so if I get to hear "Swing Life Away" once it will be a good experience. I saw them once about fifteen years ago at Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto with Weezer. They blew the doors off Weezer and despite the in ear monitor system crapping out during "Gouge Away" it was a pretty wicked experience.
  15. As is Toronto! Next few months: MG twice, Explosions in the Sky, Third Eye Blind and Silversun Pickups, Muse and Thirty Seconds to Mars, and Deftones/Rise Against
  16. To address your original question about the specific neighbourhood ... I'm from Toronto so I can maybe give you a general sense. So, Danforth is basically the east End of Bloor Street, which is the main transit thoroughfare in Toronto. It's in and around an area that is basically "little Greece", so the area is mostly small independent businesses and a lot of Greek food/grocery things. There's two pubs that are within walking distance, one has an Irish theme and a bit of an older crowd, the other just a run of the mill pub. And when I say walking distance I mean three or four businesses West of the Music Hall. There's a Starbucks and a McDick's on the corner near there as well if you're looking for coffee and/or fast food. In a nutshell, the Danforth (name of community and the venue and the street haha) isn't anywhere near to the downtown core. Tourist things that are closer (in terms of transit) ...the Bloor subway line is probably what you would take to get there ...basically all along Bloor it's subway stops every major intersection and each one has their own character. It depends on what you WANT to do, whether it be culture or fun ... but if culture is what ye seek, if you get off the Subway at St. George station (on the bloor line) there's the ROM -- Royal Ontario Museum. Lots of fun and a great collection ... it is connected to the U of T campus which has many beautiful old buildings. Most of the touristey fun things mentioned above (with exception of Distillery) are further South/on the Yonge/University subway line. Not hard to get to by any means, but not even close to the venue either. I dunno if that helps, but hopefully it does!
  17. I happen to be wearing it today. Gildan Softstyle Ringspun
  18. My LOES shirts, both the VIP and the one I bought shrunk to hell and also came unspun as you suggest. Mind you, my Chaotic Neutral D and D shirt is one of my mainstays that I wear once a week. I air dried in the beginning but have dried it since by accident and there are legit no shrinkage or issues. I am hoping the BM merch was produced by this manufacturer.
  19. This all sounds exciting! Thanks for sharing, all.
  20. Yes, totally the same guy. I also agree with the stopping fantasizing about Dave and Rich. A lot of acrimony in both cases. EDIT: According to The Heartbroken wikipedia, his name is Peter Fusco. I saw a comment in the instagram pic that seems to call out this name as well.
  21. I second this. Spill the beans.
  22. Avalanche is one of the best songs played live, period. It was made to play live, methinks. The version on the Massey Hall Live album brings me to tears almost every time ... the guitars in the breakdown are amazing.
  23. Dude on the Matt Good FB page mentioned he emailed them about when the details would be emailed to us ...this was a few days ago and at the time the response was "in a week or so"...so should be this week if they stay true to that.

  25. Besides MG twice on the tour ...Tea Party Valentine's Day week and Explosions in the Sky in April
