  1. Re-uniting? I don't think the story line will happen long, I was reading the Office message board last night and apparently Karen will be gone at the end of the season, Rashida Jones, will be going to a show on Fox. So, this could hopefully be set up for Jim and Pam to get together. You also have to remember that Pam was just depressed about being at a wedding, where all her ideas were stolen, and all she could think about was Jim. He was flirting with her but then he went back to Karen, and at least Roy was making the effort for them to get together, where Jim was not. Now I don't think he should have to, he's put himself on the line twice and been burned twice.

  3. This is not quite a spolier, but it's still along the same vein as the last one... SPOILER (Highlight to View) Maybe she's just re-bounding? Sort have like Jim is with Karen. I am beginning to truly become frustrated with the lack of Jim and Pam getting together though.
  4. Recently? He generally has all his pictures done now with the band.
  5. "Brian Wilson" was played during the set. Ed did say the remark about Stanley Park too actually, but I think Steve said something there too.
  6. The name of the band actually is the Sam Roberts Band, the albums though are released under Sam Roberts name. But basically, it is a band, they changed the website from samrobertsmusic.com to samrobertsband.com quite awhile ago actually. Also, Sam Roberts refuses to take photos without the band. Also, the comparison was more just in how both got so much attention here, but can't seem to get nearly as much outside of Canada.

Can they make that much with thirty though at the moment?
  8. I was thinking about this the other day, and the Sam Roberts Band gets lots of attention in Canada, but not anywhere else, and I was just thinking perhaps they are kind have the new MGB.

Some of the best teams State side though are having troubles filling up their stadiums. Even if it got down to six or seven American teams vs six or seven Canadian teams it would be better since then it would for one be more fair to Canada who adores hockey far more than the States.

Apparently they can't even fill the stadiums down there this year.
  11. Muran probably the best joke of the show was "Vancouver it's good to see that you guys finally opened up Stanley Park to logging, it was just a waste of space anyways!", or something along those lines. I was glad to see they played their cover of "Lovers In A Dangerous Time" in the second encore too actually. I was glad that it was a pretty varied setlist too. There was quite a bit new stuff, but they played about one to two songs from each of their other albums too.

So, I'm sure many of us know that the NHL isn't doing so well in the States this year. I was wondering if in five years time if only the Canadian teams were left because the American teams went into bankruptcy, would that be such a bad thing? I mean it seems like the NHL has been trying forever to make it an American thing and it's not, it's like the CFL expansion into the States, it just isn't theirs, it's Canadian.
  13. My point was, not too long ago, we were the same, we were a "take care of yourself" country too, I know it will take awhile for people to accept change, but it can happen.
  14. You know I just think they could be following the whole cliff-hanger thing the BBC series did. Like what happened to Andy, the BBC series would employ cliff-hangers from time to time. Heck the Series final for Series 2 (in Britain Series means season), they left a cliff-hanger as to what would happen with quite a few of the story lines with the idea that they might do a special in the future, in the end it wasn't resolved till about a year later. So, I think they're just trying to go back to the original a little more now that this one has defined itself away from the BBC series. I think it's a bad idea, for the same reason I think it's a bad idea not to resolve the Pam and Jim single story line. I think more comedy can be ensued by this one continuing to make it different from the orignal.
  15. "Barenaked Ladies Are Men" has four new songs on on the end actually. But I didn't see any kissing or anything. The one song where they did a whole dance together, Ed chases Steve around the stage and bashes his head into the piano, while Tyler is kicking Kevin on the ground, and at the end Steve breaks a bottle over Ed's head. The rest of the stuff was more just part of the song as a opposed to a whole band dancing...
  16. I don't think they even played "Shopping", but they played a lot of tunes. They did a rap cover of some rap 80's song though, but I can't remember the name of it. Steven Page was hopping around practically every chance he got, he even did a spiral and a kick to end "Too Little Too Late"... He did a lot of kicking during that song though for some reason. I don't really remember much of a dance for "One Week" though. They had a whole broadway type thing for one of the songs too, where they all danced together, but I can't remember which tune it was, it was funny though. Oh yeah, they have the second CD for the two parts of their new album coming out tomorrow, "Barenaked Ladies Are Men". 12 of the 16 songs were on the deluxe edition of "Barenaked Ladies Are Me" though. They sold the second one at the show, and it's actually pretty good too in any event.
  17. I think Juanpe you have to remember how did your country get to that point in your healthcare system, I personally do not know. I know how Canada made it in our system, and originally the doctors were allowed to charge whatever they wanted to, but to the government, once medi-care was introduced in Saskatchewan. However, the doctors ended up going on strike over it. And, Saskatchewan barely managed to hold onto free medi-care. It's not like everyone in Canada just said "oh great we have free health care" over night, it's just become part of our nature now to think that. The U.S. will have to struggle for awhile too. As for the U.S. having medi-care, it shouldn't really be a big deal. Here if you make more money you pay a premium based on your wage, if you don't make a lot you don't pay anything, so I can't see it really being an issue.
  18. Anyone else see their show last night? It was pretty messed up like, well I'll have to explain this one to non-Vancouverites, but basically BC Place is right across from GM Place, and across from the two is a brand new Costco. So, in the middle of "If I had A $1 000 000" they sang "imagine a Costco across a street from a stadium where you could buy a stadium roof" or something along those lines. They talked about Jackass and ended up bringing Bill Vander Zalm into it calling it "Jackass 3 with Bill Vander Zalm", yes it was cheesy, but good cheese.

  20. I hear Paul Haggis is up for another writing Oscar this year, I hope he wins again.
  21. I was looking about the Office site after I said that and apparently in the comments for "Ben Franklin" someone mentioned that there's some deleted scenes where he's been sent to anger management courses for 10 weeks.
  22. Part of the problem at least for BC has not been that doctors have been leaving, but in BC under the NDP not one seat was added to health sciences during the Nineties, so of course while the population has been growing, the amount of people educated has not kept pace, so under the Liberals we've been playing catch up. I think that Universal Health Care would be better for the States, the idea that people pay high taxes to pay for it is ridiculous, how much do people pay for health insurance over there as is? Do you get unlimited access to the best doctors with that insurance? I doubt it, here at least we have a chance. Universal Health Care does not just mean higher taxes or it's free to the poor, it also means everyone has the same chances at a basic right. I think it's a cop out to use high taxes as an excuse as well because lets say that John Doe here has insurance but he needs to see a specialist that's not covered, and this is something deemed essential, well in Canada you wouldn't have to pay more for it.
  23. It's either pay a bit of extra in taxes or pay for and receive less from an insurance company. Also, Anton, the problem is that the Feds keep passing the buck onto the provinces, BC pays something like 84-86 percent of the bill, so of course, there's going to be some cut backs, because it's just not feasible for Provincial governments to pay for it all. However, when one of the Regional Authorities tried to make cut backs at the expense of surgery's and emergency rooms, the provincial goverenment steped in and said no you can't do that. Less essential things have been cut because there is simply no money for them. But even then. if you're under 19 you can still get your eyes checked for free. So, it's not like some of the stuff that has been cut is completely cut.
  24. Tonight's show was amusing, but it didn't resolve the story lines. I didn't think Pam accidently saying she likes Jim was needed, I mean we already know that and Karen seems oblivious to it. But, I think they should just get Pam and Jim together, I know they took forever in the BBC series to have Tim and Dawn get together, but well it was a lot shorter. Anyways, apparently next week is Phyllis' Wedding. Hopefully they start finishing off the story lines again. Also anyone else notice Ed Helms wasn't in this episode?
  25. The difficulty with a two-tiered system is that not everyone neccessarily has access to the same doctors as everyone else.
