I don't mind Spiderman... Also, truthfully, Rachel Dawes was such a small role last time, I don't see why Holmes couldn't do the character again.

King Kong won three Oscars if I remember correctly, it was tied with Crash and Brokeback Mountain that year for the most Oscars.

It sounds like it's going to be a good movie. But isn't it still about a year away?

I think the reason Canada came back was because they were underdogs period, not just because they were underdogs in Russia, it was just a coincedence. I mean, could you imagine if they were in Canada, and they were just a game away from losing? They'd have no choice but to fight back for sure... Candians would be dogging them at every chance.

Well everything I know about it is in the article... But, the Canada Russia '72 series was only good because Canada was losing. If Canada starts by winning, the NHLers will not give it their all. It's only if something is on the line, for us it was national pride. That could happen yet again, who knows.

I didn't think "The Pursuit of Happyness" was all that great, it was okay, and it was interesting. I would have been amused if Marky Mark had won "Best Supporting Actor". Out of everyone he actually deserved it, but it would have been funny because he's a former rapper.

Lorne did a good Michael, and the Jim character worked well too. Keenan did a good Stanley, his voice just wasn't quite right. But how do you find the entire show without a downloading program?
-
I like the intro to the Karen Part Rainn: Very weird deja vu kind have thing happening. Karen: Hey Dwight Rainn: Oh, hey Karen... Okay that's weird. How do you find the entire episode anyways? I don't have a download program.

Yes. As for SNL, I didn't see the rest of it, just the monlouge and the business meeting with the Arcade Fire in it. But I do agree that most of their sketches run on too long these days. But what do you expect from a show that's over twenty-five years old and lost most of its good cast a long time ago and never replaced them with anyone all that notable?
-
Anyone know when there will be new episodes by any chance? Edit: Also, I am sure many of you are aware that Rainn Wilson was on SNL last week, and they did an Office parody, here's a link to it http://www.fanpop.com/spots/the-office-%25...529/links/18767. Also I like Karen's cameo in the scene.

Smyth got traded? Ouch, I guess that pretty much does it for this season, maybe even next...

CBC News: Should It Even Exist?
Matt replied to Moonlight_Graham's topic in Politics and Debate: WRONG!
Well most people watch CBC for the news, so without the news how much more money would the CBC lose each year? Maybe enough to see the rest of the network get pulled. -
CBC News: Should It Even Exist?
Matt replied to Moonlight_Graham's topic in Politics and Debate: WRONG!
Yes it should exist. Do you know why the CBC even exists? It comes from a time when most of our content came from the States over radio. It was to have at least some more Canadian content out there. Without them many Canadian programs would simply not exist, there would be no funding for them. Global practically runs an American style newscast now, CTV's starting to go the same way. At least CBC News, is a little better at balance. -
Bands With Staying Power?
Matt replied to sodamntired's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
Barenaked Ladies, The Tragically Hip, REM. Sum 41 has lasted quite a while actually, seven or eight years is quite long for a band these days... -
I'm hoping of finishing that soon, but I'm at the point where I'm getting bogged down between work and school, so I'm taking a bit of a break from reading, hopefully, I'll be all caught up and ahead of the pack soon enough. I really would like to know how the series ends and I'm only one book away.
-
It was definitely amusing, but I think at that point I was in shock... I didn't expect things to go down like they did tonight. If anything I expected the reverse. Good on the writers, eh?

My comment was directed to Mrs. Jesus' comment. -
Okay, it's been half an hour since I watched the episode... SPOILER (Highlight to View) Did Roy trash the bar? Seriously, I'm in shock. Paul Liberstein (He's an (executive) producer on King of The Hill and co-producer on The Office. Plus he plays Toby) wrote tonight's episode and JJ Abrams (Creator of Alias/Lost and directed Mission Impossible III) directed it. Also, The Office is going into re-runs for the next little while, probably because of American Idol, I'm guessing, because it's now on Thursdays too. I think this sucks, why can't people stop watching the Idol so that TV can stop being planned around it? SPOILER (Highlight to View) Anyways, it was a great episode, I was in shock, I was laughing un-controlably, I was shocked, it was great. I can't wait to see what happens between Jim and Roy...

I won't start reading "Mostly Harmless" by Adams quite so soon, but hopefully in the near future.

Matt replied to sodamntired's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
Why can't people just check out a myspace page or a website, listen to a song or two and decide for themselves? It's not about making informed decisions, it's about having an opinion with music. The problem with music is there is already too much conformity because too many people listen to other people as opposed to just making their own minds up without outside opinions. -

This thread is about supporting Sam Roberts, create an hatefest thread somewhere else is the point. Beyond that I just get tired of all the negativity on the internet sometimes. -
Ah, I've seen some previews for the next show and it looks delightful.

Why do people reply to threads if they don't like the artist? I mean it's kind have pedantic. -
Anton, I actually quite like the fact he's not like his dad. But, I don't know of too many musician sons who are either. Like Sting's kid plays in a grunge/alternative band, Jacob Dylan had his pop band...
