  1. I can't wait for the next episode. I'm hoping this season gets resolved rather quickly, because either wise most of the storylines have been "in limbo" as opposed to being developed further.
  2. I find it terribly ironic that people complained about how the Liberal sceme didn't work because it was only for child care space, and so the Tory's re-directed the money to people and now they are taxing it quite heavily as well from the looks of it too.
  3. Anyways, I heard about this through an email, and found a bit about this on the Liberal Party in BC's website, www.teambc.ca. I know it would be biased, but I still think the article's quite interesting.
  4. I've never heard of "Chore".
  5. I've read that, I enjoyed it, but I prefer the films to the books though.
  6. You have to remember that Garth Turner was kicked out of his party. It was over his blog and him speaking his mind about the Tories, he sat as an independant for awhile before joining the Grits.
  7. Well Bill Priddle has another band apparently now called "Don Vail". He was the guy who had a lot of input in Treble Charger's indie days, but not so much on the last two albums. Since quitting the band, he's joined "Don Vail" as a guitarist and back up vocalist. http://www.myspace.com/donvail
  8. Yes, but I don't remember the name, I don't think his new band was all that great. Edit, did a quick search, here's the myspace page... http://www.myspace.com/fairground.
  9. Well all of Shyamalan's movies are basically the same too, so it's pretty predictible, plus, I think he's given up on the twists for the most part because they are so obvious.
  10. You know, I just started reading that book last night, and it's so good so far. I never saw the movie, but I hear it has Martin Freeman (Tim Canterbury on BBC's Office), and he's incredibly witty on the stuff I've seen him in, which isn't much. So, now that I've read the book a little bit, I might give the movie a try once I'm done because it could work...
  11. I don't know about that, they weren't all that good, they were basically a lounge band, but that's why they work.
  12. Is Blur going to ever release another album post-"Think Tank" anyways? Also, I enjoyed this album, it's basically got a messed up indie-sound, and it works.
  13. You know, when I was in high school, I used to love OLP, Moist, the MGB and all those bands, but I just grew up. It has a lot more to do I think with aging and tastes simply changing than necessarily the band itself.
  14. I was just talking about the music itself... so no need for a triangle for me...
  15. I enjoy Leslie Feist in Broken Social Scene, and I think she's better than Emily Haines in BSS, but Feist vs Metric has me put Emily Haines ahead of Feist, but she does have some cool tracks.
  16. That band isn't so great! Which, is why they are awesome.
  17. I didn't want to put this in the Good Books thread since "What are you reading" type responses don't necessarily imply that books are good. Anyways, I may as well put my reading list for the last couple months up, and I'll try to update it every so often... -The World of Karl Pilkington Words by Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, & Karl Pilkington *Basically, it's the transcripts from "The Ricky Gervais Show" podcasts. I actually quite enjoyed them myself, I have never heard the actual podcasts though. -The Office: The Scripts series 1 By Ricky Gervais & Stephen Merchant *It's just the first season of scripts for the BBC series, "The Office". It was just something to read to see how similar they are to the show. -The Office: The Scripts series 2 By Ricky Gervais & Stephen Merchant *It's bascially the same as the first one, except, this time it's season two of the BBC series. -Nineteen Eighty-Four By George Orwell *His infamous novel in a society where everyone is watched all the time. I enjoyed this one, but I was left with a little disappointment with the ending.
  18. Maybe he could do a really good drama or something one of these days, I really do feel he can create really fluid characters now, so...
  19. I kind have think Jim runs The Office, I mean everyone listens to him, and if he really wanted the power, he could get them to do what he wants. It's just that Jim doesn't care about running The Office, all he cares about is Pam... Like when he got the second in command job, did it really seem to phase him? Not really.
  20. On the show? I think it's just because he's in human resources and he doesn't quite feel apart of the group...
  21. I finally watched it recently. I think Shyamalan has gotten pretty good at creating characters, I just think he needs to stop doing horror. I mean it's always the same movies, it's just new characters. And his new characters seem more real than his earlier ones, I just think it's kind have time for him to try something else... Beyond that, his horror films are getting cheesy, just because it's the horror part that has gotten stale. I found it amusing to see him give himself a much larger part in this film, he wasn't quite a main character, but he's getting closer I suppose.
  22. Maybe in the next few episodes, Karen will decide that things between her and Jim seem to be going well again, and she'll try to convince him to leave or something. Then Jim will have to decide between Karen and Pam, and then maybe Pam will finally fight for Jim, and they'll end up together. But I think once Karen's gone, they can't string this story line along any longer...
  23. Well it has strings attached, Emerson and Khan have to run in a by-election too, and Turner's by-election would have to be immeadite. However, I believe the Grits already have a candidate nominated in Emerson's riding, and the Torys have had plenty of time by now to replace Turner with a new Conservative Party nomination for his riding. So, I doubt it would be too much of a hardship for the parties.
  24. If anyone would like to hear the Sam Roberts song where the "Dirty Water" Sam Roberts part lyrics in the K-OS song comes from, the Sam Roberts Band have posted "Got Soul But No Money" on their myspace site for this weeks edition of "Digging Through The Vaults", http://www.myspace.com/samrobertsband.
  25. I hope and I think that Pam and Jim will get together by the end of the season. With six episodes left, I think they can do it because of the fact that, Karen is leaving, it'll be the last hurdle they have to overcome maybe...
