I get to see him one week from tonight! Very excited! I've never heard Avalanche live with a band, I really hope he plays it! And I will always hold out hope for Near Fantastica! -

It must take you a long time to get to work. I think I can get through a song and a half, max. However, that doesn't mean I don't stretch it out to 2 or 3 occasionally. ;) -
Am I The Only One Up For Another Straight Rock Album?
RileyLewis replied to ccf23's topic in Matthew Good
So I gave WLRARR another chance. After listening through a couple of times, I think while it's a great album, it's still my least favourite of Matt's. However, I have really grown fond of We're So Heavy and Empty Road. -
Only once, which sucks. But this tour will be number 2! I've been a fan for years of his work, but only went on his acoustic tour for Hospital Music. Then when he swung by Regina again last year I bought 2 tickets...but no one would go with me...even for free. So I just returned them. I should have gone alone, but I didn't feel like it. Before I clued in to his touring, I would have had multiple opportunities. But living in Regina presents very few compared to the GTA or Vancouver. I would go to every show in the GTA if I could! Some people are very lucky, there. But when he goes through the prairies he tends to only do one show in a province, if that.

Since everyone is responding to Matt, I will too, I guess. I will enjoy whatever you play. Of course we all have wishlists, and I don't think you'd hold that against us. But people here can be mean about it, as I think people can be everywhere. Just play and enjoy yourself, and we will enjoy the show! -

There's no need for that kind of attitude here, man. Clearly he was saying he doesn't get why the song is so popular here, not what it is about. I could write a song about poverty and it could suck, and I wouldn't expect someone to like it. Don't go crazy over someone not liking a song. And who is to say that he doesn't agree with you, politically? You don't know, so don't read into it too much. I don't know what situation you are in, but control your anger. -

I never really got into that song either. One of the only "long" songs of his I never got into. -

In some videos it looks like the audience is sitting...really? I hope that was just a trick of the camera. I intend to stand up when he takes the stage! -

Is Empty's Theme Park acoustic on the tour? Can anyone confirm that? Or is it acoustic, then hard middle, the acoustic again? I would prefer the whole thing to be electric... In any case, I prefer the second set list. If I could get that, I would be happy. I would still like at least 1 non-single older song though (beside Giant, which is a staple). -

42 Songs? Wow. Imagine Matt playing even 30. Except at an average run time of 13 minutes per Matthew Good Song ( ;) ), it might get a bit long. -

Hopefully he adds a song or two as he goes. Our Lady Peace is touring right now, and they basically are playing the exact same setlist over and over, with no changes. It's disappointing. I know they've had like 9 albums and lots of hits, but I don't want to see a "best of" show. I hope Matt doesn't go the same way. Even if he kept this set list, and added 2 or 3 other songs from his back catalogue, I would be super happy with that. Near Fantastica! -
Thanks for the advice on that, I appreciate it. Here's a free internet cookie, on me:

Also, was Empty's Theme Park acoustic or something? Someone on his Facebook page said so. That would be odd. I am crossing my fingers for 16 or more songs in Saskatoon! -
Yeah, it's at TCU. Good to know the seating will be ok. I've never been to TCU place before. I live in Regina...but no show there for this tour.

I don't have a problem with HTB or LMU or Apparitions. Mayne 2/3 would be nice. But it would be cool to have 16 or 17 songs. I know the new stuff is longer, but I also would love to hear New Fantastica or Avalanche, or maybe Everything is Automatic or maybe even Sort of a Protest Song? ;) -
Indestructible Agoraphobe Put Out Your Lights House of Smoke and Mirrors Pledge of Allegiance Double Life (can't get enough of the guitar solo in this song) Fought to Fight It The Fine Art of Falling Apart Near Fantastica

I am glad Empty's was played. Too bad there is not more older stuff. I guess his songs are so long though (comparitively), that he can't play as many songs as some bands can. I am sad that there was no VNA. I hope it gets played.

I guess no one went to the show. -
What? You mean he can't take the time to answer tweets during a show? The nerve!

Come on BC people, we need to know! -
Wow. I love the way The Boy Who Could Explode and Great Whales of the Sea sound. Phenomenal. I have a feeling that if they open with Last Parade they may stretch out the intro a bit...but who knows.

So I bought my tickets for the Saskatoon date the day they went on sale. Well, rather, the minute they went on sale. I got row A seats, which according to the seating chart is the front row. There is the orchestra pit in front of that, but I didn't see any orchestra seating available. In any case, still great seats. However, when I got the seats I was assigned seats 25&27. There are about 60 seats in a row, so I though, "hey, great! right in the middle!" However, I failed to realize that it starts in the middle, with the odd seats going left, and the even going right! So I'm stuck in the front row out on the very edge, in the boonies! I would have rather taken row B near the middle. Argh! Someone help me feel better and rationalize these seats as good!
