Matt Good didn't used to have a long wikipedia page (it was a stub) and I remember people would always just write "an asshole musician" and stuff as if wikipedia was fucking urbandictionary. Grr. It was flagged because of how badly you wrote it or what?

What's The Last Thing You've Eaten?

I didn't see the Oprah episode, but imagining someone having a mini-penis is repulsive to my psyche. >.< All power to them if they wanna make some kiddos, though.

It's just an idea, ;). It has theoretical backing, at best, and it's not something I'm going to defend tooth and nail. I really am not a member of philsophyforums (didn't know it existed until Snatch mentioned it and I haven't been there), I don't consider myself a philosopher, and I don't really want to discuss this in length in this thread. To give you insight, though, I must say that I think you misunderstand me, so I'll respond to those asertions. This idea is my personal opinion. It's something I think about from time to time, but not on a grand scale to the extent that I can discuss all of its properties at length. The sentence/word in question was simply in my tagline and it was brought up; I can't say "don't read it" or "don't talk to me about it," because I put it there in the public eye, but I hope you understand I didn't intend to discuss it as a value for anyone but myself. Also, normally, people aren't inclined to discuss taglines. Now, I personally detest people that are caught up in their wealth, wondering when the next shade of Clinique eyeshadow will come out so they can parade it around or when they can buy their second superjet hot tub this quarter. Have you ever read a novel where wealth and power corrupted a man, or seen a film with such themes? I trust you have, and that's what I mean. That said, I'm not outwardly proselytizing this idea as any sort of anti-currency philosophy, nor do I associate it with choice in this sense. I'm talking about being utterly consumed, in some ways beyond one's own control. If we're talking about Joe complaining he ate too much gourmet tortellini because he has a plastic surgeon's income, I agree with you. Saying "I had too much money" is no excuse for having bad health - that would be like complaining about a musical artist that uses foul language when you can just not listen to it; it's a fallacy. Again, I personally do not believe productivity is all that life is, so your way of thinking probably doesn't apply to me, as mine doesn't to you. I'm not asking anyone to agree with this idea, nor to even give it the light of day to assess it. I'm also certain it's been said before. Additionally, I honestly don't know where you're getting this "live less, or live more for other people" idea out of what I'm saying. To me, living has a different meaning than it may have for other people, and it doesn't include making a shit ton of money. As for living for others, I'll tell you that my life also doesn't include vast charity efforts or hours upon hours of community service (I am also opposed to foreign aid on most counts, which you as an Ayn Rand fan might like). Furthermore, the next insinuations you make are not true in my case. I don't want to reduce the buying options out there or disrupt the market; I just personally (that word again!) chose not to associate with people who let money rule their lives. As per your claim that I might suggest money is the root of all evil, I don't think money is the root of all evil. I think stupidity is. If you're easily suceptable to losing your mind over a fucking Coach bag, then that's stupidity, and to me you're just another mindless one of the rich who are completely unaware of what's going on in the world around them. I hated "the Great Gatsby," but as an example, I'm talking about people like that. And people like that are not the norm. In fact, most stupid people are not rich, they're poor as fuck. And that's where I'm going to stop, because I don't want to talk about whether or not they should get off their asses, whose fault their lack of wealth/education is, or make everyone think I hate dumb people on the whole. In summation, I'm not going to turn this European Tour thread into a thread about being too wealthy or discussing standards of living, so let's just leave it at that and direct anything else to PM. Thanks.

What? You were "making" someone?

U.s. Presidential Race
decomposinglight replied to decomposinglight's topic in Politics and Debate: WRONG!
Christian, yes. Socialist, no. And if he's got some more liberal policies in him, I'll speak in his defense. Do you know what came out of socialistic thinking? 40 hour work weeks, workman's compensation, the end to child labour, cleanliness in the meat packing industry, etc. Would you have us go back to 1880? By the by, why should being Christian disqualify Obama from the race? What president hasn't been a Christian or at least a Deist? Oh wait, you're an Ayn Rand fan. Pardon me. -
I agree that police are here to protect our rights, but you have to admit, they can go awry. And that's what happened here. Talking back? The kid sounded as meek as a mouse. As for resisting the confiscation, so would I! I don't want someone taking my personal belongings! If, as a young man, skateboarding was your favourite thing, would you want your skateboard taken away? No. And if skateboarding were illegal the officer would have taken away all of their skateboards (I can say that I know some places where it is illegal, though, usually in small towns). He focused solely on the young man, insulting his family and his upbringing along the way. Property owner? The property was the city's. And I would hardly call the boys punks, they didn't seem to be scaring anyone away, and if you've seen Baltimore, you'll realize that anything "nicely done" is scarce. These kids seemed to be on the suburban side; they weren't city gangsters with bandanas toting guns and harassing women. They probably won't come back, yes, but is that fair? They should be able to walk, bike, skateboard, etc. around the town just like anyone else, without fear of this cop or his cronies. I can attest to the corruption of male security with the following article: http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/03/28/nipple.ring/index.html

It's a tank with a broken barrel. The women's version is still up if people are interested in what it looks like. I have the canvas bag of it. ^^

Dust off the old N64. ;)

Everyone thinking together can come up with the idea, basically. It can also mean conforming to everyone else and NOT thinking, but I wasn't using it in that case. example: the weird nanorobot lifeform in Michael Crichton's "Prey."

The link isn't working for me, and good thing, because I don't wanna see that shite, especially if it's fake. That movie would be so camp, but as I liked the franchise when I was growing up, I think it would just make me too sad/angry to laugh at it. I've played Link's Awakening, OOT, Majora's Mask, and Wind Waker. Out of those, OOT was the most fun. Isn't there another one called like.. Four Corners or something (in addition to the ones myself and Hyp have listed)?

Yeah, you suck. I should have known since it was posted on April 1...

I'm surprised the Matthew Good hivemind database that is this board is still having so much consternation about this topic...

Lol. Yeah, it's not really a word. If affluence is having a good amount (affluent areas are those with high standards of living, good education programs..) then overaffluence is basically having too much (wealth, various CRAP you don't need to make you happy). These things distract you from the real beauties in life and you can lose yourself in them, in my opinion. Not just lose your money in debt as many do when trying to keep up with the Smiths, but literally become a mindless couch potato drone for your HDTV, not reading or thinking about anything of substance.

I was surprised by the similarities between the demo and the released track, too, but I like the song a lot.

I don't see it happening unless his next album is hugely successful. It's really expensive to fly and all of that. It's kind of like asking for full band shows in states other than NY.

Oh yeah, can't forget Breath of a nation. Kierra-Anne isn't on anything but that one Youtube video, right?

slightly on topic=new x files movie.

I don't know her and she looks scary, but it sucks that she has cancer. The benefit of donating for me would be nil, as I have no chance of having dinner with Matt or whatever. Plus he's not the only one on the celeb. list. I don't mean to be rude, but she and other people with cancer are gonna die whether they take our money or not.

That seems like all of them. They're all in my iTunes.
