Mg Interview Today On Ottawa Radio Station
Moonlight_Graham replied to Moonlight_Graham's topic in Matthew Good
wow, i thought people would be more interested in part of my post that says Matt spends his days inhaling news media instead and very little stuff musically. But instead this has turned into another "Matt is fat" topic. Ok, it was just a little joke. as of this moment: NO MORE TALKING ABOUT MATT AND ADDED POUNDS INSIDE THIS THREAD.....(please). -
I think AOB was considered a commercial failure because his last 2 records were such hits. I'm not suprised there was a substancial drop-off in sales with AOB. Underdogs had Apparitions, Everything is Automatic etc., and BM had Load Me Up & Hello Time Bomb. AOB didn't really have a huge single.

A matt interview aired on 106.9 The Bear today, its a rock station here in Ottawa. They had a quick interview with Matt last night while he was in Ottawa for our leg of the tour. Before the interview came on the DJ said Matt was more eager to talk about politics than music. The interview then came on. And Matt talked about how the U.S. was screwed and how he disliked Canadian companies doing business in Iraq. The DJ then asked Matt what he does during a typical day and how much is music a part of his day. Matt said music isn't much of a focus during his day, and that he spends most of his time reading up on current events and politics on the internet and in newspapers. The radio crackled for a bit, so i just heard him mention that he reads the Washington Post among newspapers. Matt said he doesn't really read any Canadian newspapers. (he came off like he was obviously obsessed with whats happening in the US right now with Iraq etc.) So i guess we know why Matt is such a well-read person and why he updates his blogs so often with political items. And since he spends much of his day reading and on the internet, i guess we may know why he has gained a bit of weight in the last year. ;)

i didn't go to the concert. never been to an MG/MGB concert ( i know, i'm dumb). Just wanna get a mental picture of what it was like there...there? How many people? was it a full house? what was the hall like (how big, how small? sorry i'm used to going to big concerts like U2 and Metallica). what was the auditorium like? is it sorta like an opera theatre, with bottom seating and then a bunch of higher rows of balcony seating? u guys say that you tried to spot each other in the crowd, so i guess the concert couldn't have been too big. Wow it would be amazing to be pretty close up and hear MG live. So different from other bigger concerts where you are so far away from the band.

geez i do remember that article. the guy sounds so angry. I'm glad he seems to hav gotten alot of that out of his system. Underdogs and Beautiful Midnight were definately his most angry records. Actually maybe his only angry records. I don't like that Matt. LOTGA was a genius album, followed by Raygun which was more genius. Then for Underdogs and BM the band just went angry for some reason and i yearned for the MGB from his 1st 2 albumbs that had positive, hopeful songs, instead of the negitivity. I never really got LOTGA-type style back, but instead i got albums like AOB and WLRRR that returned to the more positive vibe of his earlier work, yet kept much of the beautiful, creative style that MG developed while doing Underdogs & BM (songs like Suburbia and Running Home). Matt is a strange guy. I have never been able to figure him out, or nail down who he really is. In some interviews he comes off a very angry and bitter person, then in others he seems calm, thoughful, and intelligent. Not sure what it would be like to hang out with this guy in real life.

i don't want to be official canadian ambassador to the U.S. anymore. I want to be the Minister of Being Lazy and Doing Nothing All Day (and get paid for it). actually maybe i can do both jobs. and maybe i can be ambassador to the Bahamas too (for when i need a tan).

na Annabelle is a great song, i voted 4 it 2. Though i love Comfortable Criminals and Can't Get shot also
-
yeah i'm sure he mixes it up. Never been to a MG concert in my life. pretty stupid, been a fan for like 7+ years now.

that sucks ass. too many new songs.

have you ever listened to the album Master of Puppets? And IMO, Metallica released the greatest music ever to be recorded on their "Live Shit: Binge and Purge" 3-CD set. It came out around 1991-1992. It is basically Metallica playing live during their peak, performing essentially their greatest hits up until that point. Best album ever IMO, and nobody should judge Metallica unless they've heard them live during their peak years (late-80's, early 90's). P.S. Matt Good is my 2nd favorite music act. But i don't really consider him a band. Nor did i consider MGB much of a band either. It was Matt, a hugely talented musician, back-up by a bunch of crappy musicians. To be MG is a solo artist essentially. Master Of Puppets is the one i was refering to. then what about the black album???

what are you people talking about? I'm Matt Good.

wow. all my picks from last round lost. how depressing. Apparitions Strange Days (tough choice) While We Were Hunting Rabbits (i think this might be my fav song still in the contest)

Hi, I’m selling Ultimate Spider-Man #4-11, all first print, un-read, & Direct Editions. They are all near-mint, except for the rare #5 issue which has a small blemish line on the bottom right corner of the cover. (This blemish must have been made during printing or original shipping, because it was like this when I first bought the comic when it originally came out. It never sat on the shelf because it was placed directly into my account at my comic store when it arrived.) This is a good chance to get #5 at a discounted price. Along with #4-11, I’ll include a copy of “Ultimate Spider-Man: Collected Edition” which reprints issues #1-3, and is also near-mint, first-print, un-read, & Direct Edition (this “Collected Edition” came out right after the original issues were released. It is the rare first ever reprint of these issues and has a value of $25 according to ComicsPriceGuide.com). Like I stated before, all issues are un-read & never sat on the shelf since they were placed directly into my drop-account at my comic store when they first arrived. So they have barely ever been touched by human hands minus the store dropping them into bags-and-boards. I’m asking $170 (or $215 Canadian) for the whole lot. Here’s the price breakdown, listing my price, then the price its worth according to www.ComicsPriceGuide.com: Ultimate Spider-Man #1-3 (Collected Edition) – asking $10 ($25 value) #4 – asking $25 ($30 value) #5 – asking $50 ($70 value) #6 – asking $20 ($25 value) #7 – asking $20 ($25 value) #8 – asking $15 ($20 value) #9 – asking $10 ($17 value) #10 – asking $10 ($15 value) #11 – asking $10 ($15 value) TOTAL = $170 U.S. (or $215 Canadian) I’m selling as a lot and won’t break it up. All comics come bagged & boarded. Sorry, I only ship to US and Canada. If interested or have any questions please drop me a PM. If you’d like a pic of the blemish on the cover of issue #5 I could probably get one for ya.

Never been to a MG or MGB concert. What songs does he usually play?

I can be Canadian Ambassador to the U.S., since i don't officially hate the entire guts of George Bush (just some of them), unlike most people on here.
