Well we differ here. I HATE "random battles" with a passion. In fact, the first thing i do when a good JRPG comes out is find out whether it as random battles or not. If it does, i won't bother playing it. They just annoy me, like i'm trying to go to the other end of the screen and "BLAM!!" i'm caught in a battle i never saw coming. I like being able to see my enemies (some you can avoid, some you can't), it's more realistic and more fun for me i guess, much less annoying. Its sad because random battles have ruined some big titles for me, like most of the FF games, Kingdom hearts etc. I love Chrono Cross because it has the amazing music/story/characters/cutscenes etc. of the best FF games but no random battles. Also loving Persona 4 currently, and Eternal Sonata was pretty good as well.

I like this one Owen.

I think you're being way too harsh on the guy. Everyone needs to just chillax a bit. This is supposed to be a friendly forum discussing jobs/interviews etc., not who is more successful vs whom or an ego-masturbation session.

It has completely different characters and worlds, but the games are linked. There's a section in the middle of the game that is a flashback to Chrono Trigger apparently. I never played Chrono Trigger back in the SNES days and cant really get into it now. Shadow of the Colossus is great, it might make my top 10. If you didn't get to the 1st Colossus then you must have only played that game for literally 5-10 minutes lol cuz that's about as long as it took to get to it.

1. Halo 2 (Xbox) - mostly the online multiplayer, must have played over 2000 hours of that game over 4 years with my buddies woo! 2. Doom 2 (PC) 3. Chrono Cross (PS1) 4. Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall (PC) 5. Super Metroid (SNES) runners-up for 5th place (hard to decide!): High Heat Baseball 2001 (PC), Street Fighter 2 (SNES), Tie Fighter (PC), Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1 (Xbox).

Ha, great games. The 1st Ninja Gaiden was one of the first games i owned on my NES. Love that game, jumping everywhere and sticking to walls and bouncing off them like a crazy parkour ninja! Was hard though, never finished it. Right now i'm playing Persona 4 for PS2. Slow and boring at the start, but after 2-3 hours of intro story the game is really good and addictive, with very engrossing story & characters. Sucks up a lot of time though, not sure i want to waste so much time playing a single game. Would be a great game if i were a teenager again with no summer job lol. Finished Shadow of the Colossus, such a great game, better than Ico, but the ending was kinda weird.

The protesting and violence is totally expected. The 90% of the problem is was in choosing to hold the summit in the downtown core of the largest city in the freaking country. How FUCKING STUPID IS THAT!!!!!!?!?!?!?!?! Ya, no shit there would be trouble, and no shit the security costs would be huge trying to secure such a densely populated location. They should have held the damn summit in Moosejaw or Yellowknife etc., and even then have them stay/meet at some isolated cottage resort in the middle of nowhere. Idiots!

I agree, what an employer is looking for (ie: education/knowledge, experience, potential, personality etc.) certainly varies considerably depending on what job you are applying for and/or the sector it's in. For people posting with tips/experiences here, it may be helpful if they stated what field they are talking about.

Seven Samurai - was kinda boring. What's the big fuss on this movie? Influential doesn't = good. Doubt - pretty good, but weird ending with Meryl Streep crying at the end wtf?? Freddy Got Fingered - A few laughs, certainly not the worst movie ive seen. Hoop dreams - good, but a bit too long and draggy.

Wow that's amazing, congrats Matt. Really, really happy for the guy. Hmm wish he posted this on the regular non-M+ blog.

Really? Once i forgot to wear pants and surprisingly DID land the job. My friends think it was because it was a phone interview so it didn't matter, but i still say my sexy put me over the top. Ya most of this stuff is on google for sure. But its still interesting to hear what employers of the Bored think. lol ya, don't give a handshake to another man if you're gonna be all limp-wristed and a girly-man.

That's what i'm talking about. He entertains and drums at the same time. And he is really into the music, which i love. When i see a band live, the biggest thing that hits me about a drummer is how much they are into the music and are feeling the groove. Somebody can have skills up the shaznut, but if they looked bored and aren't hitting the drums with authority/enthusiasm it turns me off. There are few things in this world that piss me off more than rock bands/musicians who aren't into the music and leaving it all out there on stage. Its a disgrace to the Gods of Rock. oh and btw that drummer is way too good for that crappy joke band. It pains me whenever i see an amazing musician stuck in a crappy band just cuz there his/her "friends". Its equally painful when an amazing band is hampered by one lousy member, usually the singer.

I just finished watching the finale. I agree with you, part of what made the show great in the earlier seasons was that so many strange things happened, but they were all explained in some logical way. The 1st two seasons of the show were gold. The best television i've ever watched in my life. Season 3 was quality, but not quite like the first 2. From Season 3 the show progressively got worse. I'm sure most of the good writers/producers must have left. Seasons 4, 5, and 6 were meh. 5 was probably the worst of them all, the whole time-travelling thing was when the show just finally threw up its hands and said "blah fuck any sort of sense. Exploring the Dharma years would be cool lets do it!". The series finale was pretty good up until the very end with the whole church bullshit and Jack`s dad wasn`t in the casket and they were all ghosts or some shit. I mean really??? That's how you wrap up 6 seasons? With a vague crappy ending and everyone dead with some mysterious light they are heading too? I liked the reunion, but where the hell was Michael and Walt? I can except what the island was, just some island that had powerful energy properties. And Daniel Faraday's mom said there other pockets like it throughout the world. But what the hell was that big stone plug for the light? Who put that there? How did the woman who raised Jacob get on the island and know all the secrets? I could have lived with the unexplained island questions if there was a more satisfying ending. It would have been better if they all somehow managed to get zapped to their "alternate reality" lives via some shit Jack & Desmond did and where the plane never crashed but they still retained their memories of the island, and they were all still alive. That would have been a more satisfying and less vague/confusing/stupid ending.

Ok, i haven't been able to post in this topic ever because i've always been behind on the series by about a season always trying to catch up with the new TV episodes that air but i never was able to do so. So i haven't obviously watched the finale and have no idea how the series ends. But i will now make some predictions. I have downloaded the last season and now only have to watch the 2nd-last episode and the series finale. I just watched the episode that reveals the background of Jacob and the Black Smoke guy & how they came to be etc. and them growing up as kids. Sun and Jin are now dead too, i believe leaving only, Hugo, Claire, Jack, Kate, Sawyer alive from the original cast (along with the kids Aaron and Walt...and the dog too i think lol). As for my prediction on the ending of the series (i will probably be wrong somehow but oh well): - The Jacob/Black Smoke Guy origin episode revealed a lot, including some key themes. The game Jacob and Black Smoke play features black and white pieces, obviously referring to good and evil which each of the brothers represent. Jack found the bag of rocks at the cave back in season 1. Walt and Locke also played the backgammon game in season 1, with some talk about the "black and white" theme i remember. I haven't forgotten about Walt and have been wondering for awhile where he plays into the series story, since there was a big focus on him being "special" in the 1st few seasons. Not sure if they bring him back into the show for the finale but they should. The show i think can end in 3 ways: 1)the whole island story is resolved somehow, with the Jacob/Black Smoke Guy (ill call him "BSG) conflict ending & the remaining people getting off the island somehow w/ maybe the island sinking or being destroyed or something. 2) Everyone somehow manages to get their lives transported into the "alternate reality" where the plane never crashes, and therefore everyone lives and we get a happy ending, or 3) we get an ending where the current Jacob/BSG conflict is resolved, but another conflict begins and the island continues on with Jack as the new protector (this my guess). - Jack i think is obviously going to be chosen to replace Jacob and protect the island. He's one of the 4 main characters of the show (Sawyer, Jack, Kate, and Locke always have been the 4 main characters), Jack has always been the leader, and Jack has shown he doesn't want to leave the island and thinks he "belongs here" to do something. This very interestingly stands in contrast to Sawyer, the other alpha-male of the show, who has always wanted to leave, and is VERY keen on trying to leave now, but interestingly has never been able to leave the island after several attempts (the raft with Michael & Jin, jumping out of the plane, the sub that blew up & killed Sun/Jin/Sayid). So Sawyer reminds me of BSG, who wants to leave so bad but can't. - So my main prediction is that Jack replaces Jacob to permanently protect the island (he represents the "white" game piece, or "good"), and Sawyer replaces the Black Smoke Guy somehow (he represents the "black" piece aka bad.) and the cycle continues. Sawyer & Jack have always fought for leadership and over Kate etc. so this conflict could continue on the island like the Jacob/BSG conflict w/ Sawyer wanting to leave, & Jack protecting. - Kate just got shot, i think she will die of infection because she's been crossed off the list and the island "no longer needs her". Hugo is still alive just because fans love him, but i dont see him playing a vital role in the grand scheme. He could die or somehow get off the island. Claire still has some important role to play but i just don't know what it is. I say she eventually dies and her mom looks after Aaron. - These alternate-reality "flashbacks" of Season 6 i still dont know how they fit into the grand scheme. But that Asian ghost-talker guy said to Sawyer after Juliet died that Juliet said "it worked", aka the hydrogen bomb idea making the plane not crash. - if some people do get off the island, its either through the magic teleporter at the bottom of the well, or they take the plane (i think Lepetis the pilot is still alive). - The other key theme, besides the "black and white rocks", that has occurred throughout the series is the "fate/destiny" theme (ie: Locke vs Jack). I'm sure this will be dealt with more, but impossible to predict anything with it. *I'll come back in a few days when i'm done watching the last 2 episodes of the series and see how wrong i was LOL.

Playing recently: Lego Star Wars: Complete Saga - fun, but gets repetitive after awhile. Shadow of the Colossus - I thought Ico was a good game but a bit overrated, but this one is really fun. The boss battles are like giant puzzles. Skate 2 - loved the 1st Skate, this one is just as cool but can get off your board and walk now, and they give a less-zoomed camera option which is much less annoying.

Yup, the blonde is hot. the other one ain't bad, but i feel sorry for her kinda cuz everyone must tell the blonde she's hot lol. Blonde is also the better singer, she can really belt some notes. -
That's only half true. In the first Halo i thought the use of vehicles was pretty innovative for a FPS. I was a PC gamer too at the time and long before that, and i dont remember vehicles being used to even close to that degree in a 1st-tier game. Warthogs, tanks, and flying in the air in Banshees, plus multiple AI passengers who would shoot turrets etc. while you drove. Combat Evolved. Enemy AI was also superb, especially on higher difficulties. Plus it was backed up with a very good story, especially for shooter. Yeah, much of the game was also just standard FPS b.s. being recycled, but you can say that for 95% of all shooters, especially FPS. Shotgun, sniper, pistol, rockets, grenades etc. BORING! And the cut-and-paste level design plagued both Halo1 and Halo 2, i agree. I wasn't a huge fan of Halo 1, it was ok. But Halo 2 totally revolutionized online multiplayer for shooters. Match-making, parties, the voice-chat cooperation & smack-talk, personalized on-screen emblems to know where your teammates are on the map at all times. Plus i thought duel-wielding was wicked. The voice/social aspect of Halo 2 was unprecedented. Halo 2 online was the shit, and has only been closed to being matched on consoles by recent Call of Duty games.

So what u think of them? I saw them live the other night in Ottawa at WestFest. I'm sure some remember these Canadian gals opened for Matt Good during his 2007 solo acoustic tour. They are great live, and were very good the other night despite crappy sound setup. Beautiful harmonies, although they really sound much worse on CD/in studio. It just doesn't have the same full sound as the live performances and especially the acoustic reverb you get inside a theatre. Bought their new CD there and they autographed it. The blonde is hot, the other is cute too.

Or maybe you suck at Halo? BAHA!!!!! (finger pointed in the air).
