If Harper/CPC gets a majority, we won't be back to the polls for another 5 years most likely, since the other parties won't have enough votes to bring down the gov't. -
Just wanted to share this. I just transcribed an excellent speech Matt made in-between songs before he played "If I Was a Tidal Wave" at a live show in Nanaimo, BC, July 31, 2006. I transcribed it from . Transcribed it the best that i could hear, if you can make out some of the word i couldn't please post them. Enjoy: love that last line.

I heard 'In a Place of Lesser Men' on the radio last week. It's still just an alright song. Born Losers still gets tons of airplay too. -

Mass Effect - Was a huge fan of the Star Wars; Knights of the Old Republic games by Bioware, but i bought Mass Effect when it came out and just couldn't get into it. I tried the Mass Effect 2 demo not long ago and wow, i loved it, the gameplay was so cinematic and the RPG elements were streamlined, got the game sitting in my collection but haven't played it yet. BG & E - Picked up the original PS2 version of the game for 10 bucks new a year ago, still haven't played it yet but looks good. Ensalved - tried the demo, thought it was meh. ya colours were nice though

1. i often go to Walmart and buy a can of Pringles and a can of tennis balls, and when i get home i put the Pringles chips in the tennis ball can and the balls in the Pringles can. I then eat the tennis balls, and batter old people on the courts with flying shards of Pringles with my overhand smash. 2. i think stilts work way better than snowshoes in deep snow. 3. i once lost my glasses and accidentally ate a cat. 4. i can run backwards faster than i can run forwards 5. i believe that our asses have evolved to be fat and muscley so that we may sit comfortably. 6. I think Vietnamese people are the ugliest race of humans on earth (no joke) 7. i once found out why they named them dogs "cockerspaniels" 8. i like the Star Trek movies starring the original series cast but dislike the original tv show 9. the reason why they tell you to wash your veggies before you eat them is because people often buy carrots, bring them home, stick them in their butt, then return them to the grocery store. That brown stuff on your unpeeled carrots isn't "dirt". 10. i can't stop yelling into speakers and putting my ears to microphones 11. my dad and i once accidentally shared the same toothbrush for about 2 months (true story!) 12. when i have a runny nose i stick tampons up my nose. Used tampons. 13. when i was a kid i asked Santa to bring me a black person for Christmas because i thought black people were made out of chocolate. 14. the Easter bunny once brought me an egg-shaped black person 15. i once worked as a car salesman, and when a pretty woman wanted to testdrive a manual transmission car i would remove the stickshift & sneak underneath the car and stick my penis through the hole where the stick should go. This worked 4 times. 16. I think Rocky IV is much better than the first Rocky. 17. I think Judge Judy is a power-tripping fucking bitch 18. i don't personally hunt animals. but i believe that people who say hunting is cruel are the biggest fucking idiots because it is the most ethical way to attain meat for human consumption, especially compared to grocery meat. 19. If u believe in the Book of Genesis you are a fucking moron 20. In you believe in the Sega Genesis you are awesome 21. i believe that most human suffering in this world is caused by people being selfish 22. i believe that most monkey suffering in this world is caused by lack of bananas 23. the first time i kissed a girl and the first time i stuck my penis in a girls vagina happened within 5 minutes of each other (no joke!) 24, i think that people who don't finish their sentences are 25. If i knew i only had a few days to live i would probably try heroine and cocaine.

Watched the English debates, but like you i started zoning out, about 90 minutes was all my brain could take. I vaguely remember some gobbily-******** about multiculturalism and health care in the last bit. 2 hours is a bit long. Why not break it up into 2 nights? -
I recall when Matt recently rebooted his website there was a message on one of the main pages that said that current M+ members could reactivate their account on the new site and that would continue to support M+ until all current M+ memberships expire, but that there would be no new M+ memberships offered. So i take this to be that Matt is ending M+. That is a shame. I never was an M+ member, but i was planning to join when the new tour kicks off so get possible invitations to pre-show soundchecks and other tour-related goodies. Has Matt said anything about the fate of M+ to M+ members? Or reasons why he seems to be ending it?

That article was from a year ago, and the abortion funding has to do with developing countries, not Canada. But Harper is a dick, so i wouldn't it would be disturbing to see what kind of "family planning/abortion" policies he would enact domestically if the Cons were to get a majority. I hope whoever wins the election, it's a minority government. Some of the things all of these parties/leaders have pushed must be dreamed up by people on crack binges. A minority is just fine because these idiots on the Hill need some kind of check on each other because of the many dumbass ideas that fly out their mouths. I truly feel that if any of the parties get a majority, this country would go to shit for the next 5 years. -
Aaaaaaand he just hit a growth spurt & grew out of them, time to buy new clothes tomorrow. ;) lol wouldn't that suck.

1) i don't understand anything about this thread. Who became a mod whatnow? What was an April fools joke? 2) i dont think Sodamntired should become a mod. He's responsible for half the posts here on The Bored, so basically he'd be modding himself most of the time, which is redundant/illogical right? 3) People complain about sodamn, that he makes tons of threads n shit, but if he didnt post here, there would be like zero new threads. Sodamn is the bitter-tasting cough syrup you don't like to take, but it keeps you healthy & if u didn't take it you'd die of pneumonia. 4) i miss Saladbowl and Uncle Jam.

From the toughest SOB, Rocky Balboa: "The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place, and I don’t care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody, is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done !"

The Tories haven't been in power for 7 years, nor has Canada been in a recession for 7 years. I also don't think it is possible to expect any Canadian PM/government to completely "fix this recession", since the cause and recovery is widely due to global markets and the US economy, which Canada has minor influence over. I also think Harper and the CPC get too much credit for Canada weathering the recession well. It was mostly our banking system & regulations which prevented Canada to go through the housing & bank crash etc. that the US went through, and these regulations were in place well before the Cons came to power. However, they deserve credit for not effing everything up. They also get too much flak for the large deficit they've run up, since deficit/stimulus spending during a recession is Keynesian economics 101 and the other major parties would almost certainly have done the same, as has much of the Western world. I'm leaning to vote for the Cons. Lauren's sentiments are certainly valid, but Iggy and Layton are lying/scheming slimeballs so i don't think much would improve under them, unfortunately. I dislike the previous Con stance on Afghanistan, but thankfully that military mission is due to come to an end this year (but with training/advisers remaining, unfortunately), & Harper has expressed the sentiment that a military solution in the country is not possible. I'm left-leaning by nature, but the CPC seem to be the most competent when it comes to the pragmatic running of the state. Iggy is very unpredictable to me in his policy views. Says he's a liberal, but has many conservative views, such as supporting the invasion of Iraq 2003. -

I'm listening to Laughing Stock and Spirit of Eden right now for the first time. I can definitely see the similitude with Non Populous and some of this stuff, with the lonely piano pieces etc. Pretty moody, atmospheric stuff. Very jazzy. Pretty cool shit, but these guys had some balls to release this stuff as some of it is just a lot of nothing. -
