What Videogame(s) Are You Playing Right Now?
hoogie replied to Moonlight_Graham's topic in Tech Section: A Hard Drive at Risk
It's a good deal. Thought about buying one myself on Boxing Day. -
For the record, I like the song. I do get why people don't like it as much as others. You're also asking why a group of diehard MG fans don't love the track with a very poppy sound.

What Videogame(s) Are You Playing Right Now?

There's not a ton of differences. It's a lot more powerful though, and it has a 1 TB hard drive, which would be nice. Mine is only a 500 GB, and I'm constantly juggling which games are installed. It's really only worth it if you have a 4K TV, or are planning to buy one in the near future. It will upscale some current games, but all games coming out now have to have a Pro Mode, so there will be a benefit for all new stuff coming out. Neither version (Pro vs PS4) will play Blu-Ray in 4K. There is a difference too, because I got a free 4K Blu-Ray player when I bought my newest TV, and stuff looks amazing on there. I've thought about buying one, but the price tag is too steep for what it's worth. It'd be nice to play in 4K, but I'm going to just buy another hard drive for what I have now. -
Hope everyone's holidays were great.

Looks Like Vinyl Releases Of Back Catalog Are Coming
hoogie replied to mrjason's topic in Matthew Good
I would love to hear the "Rooms" tracks on vinyl. They would sound incredible. I agree that it would be overkill to re-release the whole original album. -
In the days when Matt sang in the higher octave, an older style Radiohead song would have sounded great in his style. Motion Picture Soundtrack and Exit Music would have been great choices. I'd still love to hear his version of Ahead by a Century that he did earlier this year. It would suit him well.

Very cool Mike. Welcome. See you at the London show. There was quite a few bands back in the day that I was introduced to via mix tape or mixed CD. Cool to see a MG fan popping up because of it.
-
Sorry. I vaguely remember listening to it and really enjoying it, but I don't have a copy of it.
-
I tried to download it before I left for work this morning but for some reason it didn't go through. So bummed. I'm going to order the CD tonight, and likely also the vinyl. Glad everyone likes it so far though.

I didn't even consider those songs. I wonder if he'll change them around for different instruments for this tour. I enjoyed that sound on the last couple tours. It adds another layer to a lot of the songs.

The truth hurts I guess. I think most cities in Ontario are all around the same. Every place has the same big mall with the same stores as every other city. They all have a downtown with some good restaurants. Every one I've visited are pretty much similar to the others. The London show is on a Friday night though

How dare you!! LOL My ideal (and not realistic) encore would be: Non Populus Blue Skies over Badlands Champions of Nothing Fine Art of Falling Apart Weapon I hope that Matt tours with Anthony again at some point, or a different keyboard player. I love Non Populus. If you are bringing a keyboard player, then add Prime Time Deliverance.

I remember that special now. I had it for ever on my PVR until it got corrupted. I agree about the sound quality for that recording. The band sounded incredible on that tour, and it did not translate to that recording. Still enjoyable though.
-
I totally understand not taping this tour. Makes sense. Hopefully at some point there will be a live DVD or another live CD. Live Road and the Massey recordings are some of my favourites. At least we can say there is demand for it, from us loyal fans anyways.

I can make a case for London. It's a great, newly renovated venue that sounds great. It's right downtown, so you have plenty of options on how to get around and where to stay if you're here. We have an airport, so you can fly right into town, or you could do the 2 hour drive from Toronto. If you want more info, just shoot me a pm.

Got Watch Dogs 2 last week. It's pretty good so far. It's definitely improved from the first one, in terms of storyline and characters. -
I'm happy regardless of what versions of the songs he plays.
-
Sounds great like everything else we've heard so far about from the EP.
-
It definitely sounds better. The owners of LMH sunk a couple million dollars into renovating it two or three years ago. It's nice because you're pretty close to him no matter where you are. For both Matt's last show there and Brian Fallon, we were able to get within maybe 10 feet from the stage. The only real problem is that you can't really leave your sweet spot once you get it. The problem with seated venues is the dilemma to sit or stand. You get yelled at either way, whether you choose to sit or stand.

Los Alamos Tiger by The Tail Cold Water Harridan Kid Down the Well Army of Lions No Liars Moment All You Sons and Daughters Girls in Black Cloudbusting Cloudbusting never really resonated with me.

London Music Hall is general admission. There's no seating, which is nice. He used to play at Centennial Hall, which is a seated venue, and apparently had shitty acoustics. Matt commented last year that he liked the new venue a lot more. See you at that show.

$99 & tax according to the VIP site: http://fanxportal.com/matthewgoodvip/

Anyone else get the option to upgrade to the physical CD while buying the tickets? I'm at the payment stage on Ticketmaster and it still hasn't prompted me. I'm guessing you get the choice after the fact? Goddamn Ticketmaster too. $10 service fee per ticket. Bumped up a 32.75 ticket to $46 after all the fees. Sorry, we were talking about what's included in the VIP. If every ticket gets a EP download or a physical copy, why bother upgrading?
-
I'm already second guessing the VIP. I have to side with Tony. I have no problem paying $100 or more for a VIP package if it means you get something out of it. I wish Matt's management had come up with something a little more appetizing to pay that much money for. I'm not asking for ten minutes witht the guy, but something that gives the package some value would be nice. They could give you a pre-autographed copy of the EP, for example. How much would the record company be out for each of those? Since they just released the prices, I've figured that it will cost around $180 or so for a ticket and VIP. And that's at a seated venue, so the front of the line access to the show doesn't really mean anything. I don't want to come across as whining, I just feel that there's opportunity there to do something great.

Love to hear Born to Kill
