I just once again want to point out the sheer idiocy of this comment. And it's too bad things have worked out the way they have. I enjoyed Matt's blog, and was enjoying Jen's account of the trip. But I think maybe it's best if they just take a break and enjoy their trip. Maybe the assholes will go find something better to do. Like put their energy towards something meaningful.

I just want to keep this thread going because it started as a "Hey, these pictures look the same." and then turned into an argument about Bono and whether he's a tool (No) or whether he's cool (Yes). Although I guess maybe it's done. But the pictures are funny that they're so much the same. I wonder how many band pictures are out there that look exactly the same. I bet there are a lot, I've seen a lot of crappy band pictures copy crappy band pictures that copy a good band picture and so on.

Then don't watch it again. And I'd say it's anything but predictable. Didn't you think something was going to happen at the beginning when he threw the action figure out the bus window? I sure did. But nothing happened. Totally unpredictable.

That story neglects the whole part where Palestinians have resorted to violent attakcs against Israel. I'm not saying that I sympathize with Israel at all, they did take land, but I think the issue is a lot more complicated than that story makes it out to be.

I'll never betray my Next Generation. I haven't been into a Star Trek since TNG and I probably won't. I have fond memories of TNG keeping me unpopluar in high school and I'd like to keep it that way.

It's a joke. At a previous Vancouver show someone threw something at Liam. He then proclained that they didn't have to put up with this shit as they were the "biggest band in the world". People then pelted the stage with everything they had and the band left the stage. It was only about 10 or 15 minutes into the set.

I really can't tell if you're serious or not. His blog has to do with his political beliefs, not necessarily his art. One can still like his music but respectfully disagree with his ideas. I think you're more of a fan if you can think for yourself.

Yeah, that's a silly idea. I agree that Matt and Jen may have overreacted, but reading the comments on her blog. What the fuck people? A lot were anonymous, but Scot was their too. That's fine. It just bugs me when people come here and make fun of people for their age, or they make fun of their comments because they're young. I'm older than most people here, and yes I do see an age difference, but I can still chat with everyone on an equal level. And yeah, Matt is definitely human. I don't see a lot of people calling him a god on this board. The only time I see that term used is when people put words in other's mouths. Just because some people agree with his ideas doesn't automatically mean that they worship him and suck up to everything he does. And I think you bunny is really cute.

That kind of comment is getting old here. It's condescending and pretty unnecessary. I've seen other message boards such as The Idiot Box and I wouldn't say the level of maturity is any better there.

That's good news for Stargate. The company I work for does a lot of the VFX for Stargate and they always lose to whatever Star Trek is on the air. I think part of it is political because Stargate is a Vancouver show and thise LA types don't like that. But now? Who knows.

I completely agree with Ashley. This whole idea of objectification does more harm. I'm sure there are some women in the world who are objectified and portrayed in a negative way. That's bad. But for a woman to pose nude because she wants to, or whatever her reason, it's her choice. To say she doesn't have that choice is worse. And as for the choice of people to look, a person poses nude in a public magazine or add knowing that people will see it. True, if you don't like it, don't look. But everyone has a choice what to do.

Well that's easy because you can choose the best MGB song ever "Suburbia".

This is a great album! It's hard to choose because I think Truffle Pigs and The Rat... are 2 of their best songs ever.

Yeah, Jaded Monkey isn't the problem here. He's really not bad and when he did post on Jenny's blog is was very civil and intellignet. I've been involved in debates with him before and he's good. I have to say that I never participated in the Metro when Matt was on so I'm not an expert on it. But I think Matt got very defensive very fast and some people decided to really provoke him to get a funny response. So I think maybe Matt is extra sensitive to that kind of criticism. I think what happened yesterday is a good reason to get pissed off because it really was a disrespectful and very hurtful thing to do. But I don't think he and Jenny are handling it very well. If anything, stay strong and carry on. It's depressing to read the blogs right now and it really is a little childish and a little much. I really hate to criticize them, not really knowing them or where their heads are. And I've always been one to defend them and say "You don't thow them." but this time it's just too much. I may not know them but I know the situation and I know how I would react. I'd shake it off and keep going. If you read this Matt, shake it off and keep going! You're better than that, I know it.

So in light of recent events on Jenny Good's blog. What are your thoughts on women posing nude or partially nude? Someone said that the PETA adds featuring naked (but covered) women are expoiting women. I think that to propose that a woman can't choose if she does or doesn't want to pose nude is setting things further back in women's rights than just exploitation. I'm sure there are some women who are exploited, and that's awful, but I really can't see the PETA adds being that case. I think someone was just bored and decided to make something from nothing.

I'm going to have to agree that at first there seems to be a bit of an over-reaction on the part of the Good's. From what I hear, the person who posted negatively was quite civil, however I didn't see the original comments so I don't know. But to write a letter to Amnesty? That's just malicious and pretty immature. Surely there was a better way to handle and for that I can understand the Good's being upset. To me, that's like telling teacher. And also, she's taken something that the Good's feel strongly about and were doing to act as a positive influence in the world, and she went and threw it in their face. I know if I'm trying to do something nice and someone throws it back at me, it really pisses me off. So after all is said and done, I don't think they over-reacted. And the person in question who started this all should find something better to do, and she should do it on her own webspace.

Well I'm glad everyone hasn't resorted to blaming everyone else. Way to go. I'll be back when there's some semblance of rational, respectful thought.
