Who cares? Nobody knows until 2008. But neither McCain nor Hillary will ever win. They're both pretty hated by their party's respective bases.

Umm, because it isn't different, on the whole. As a Canadian, I don't even know what Canada's national identity is. If anything, the differences within our own country are equal to the differences between Canada and the US.

That's not a very good explanation why westerners have historically felt alienated. Funny, though.

Last time I checked, the Taliban was a militia, although I'm uncertain as to any "fixed distinctive sign" or "in accordance with the laws and customs of war." They don't wear uniforms, and target civilians... so that's a no to both.
