I think he's a good vocalist, I just don't dig the music. I'm not gonna shit on him for it. I am to the immediate left of the soundboard. I am happy with these seats. Whenever I've been up close I'm always on the bassist side and as a bass player I get distracted watching hands and not watching the show. Happy to avoid that.

I was really hoping he'd put Moment and Tiger into this set... if not, it'll be just like Vancouver where I heard everything but Fought to Fight It. Shay and I are leaving in about half an hour but we are on the floor. I really didn't enjoy Scott Helman last night so I am aiming to arrive near the end of his set. Edit: Anton, it looks like you are sitting three rows behind, 4 seats to the left of where I sat last night.

Okay, if I was omniscient and new Protest Song was going to be played, I may have considered the VIP upgrade. Fingers crossed Police Cars gets played tonight for my wife's sake - she didn't come with me last night and was not happy she missed that. Also, YAY PEDALS
-
I'd be stoked if you upload them. If you're able to get a shot of Bones' board tomorrow at the soundcheck that would also be awesome. I love seeing what other bass players are using.

I'm sorry to hear you had a drag of a time at the VIP. I'm glad I didn't splurge on that this year. Been to enough shows, not that important any more. You know when there was actually a "crowd free merchandise stand" - when I got there at 7:40.

All you sons and daughters No liars Born losers Advertising on police cars Cold water Army of lions Everything is automatic Load me up Harridan Kid down the well Los alamos Apparitions Weapon Cloudbusting Hello time bomb Giant Girls in black

This might be different now but I remember a couple tours ago he mentioned all he had on stage was a tuner, which he used mostly as a mute. He'd let the guitars/amps do the work.
-
Anyone have any idea about merchandise costs and payment options?

I wouldn't get your hopes up too much about a lot of HM/Vancouver stuff being played, just based on the songs he's played from those albums during the last couple tours. Which is a bummer, because I'd also love to hear more stuff from those albums.

I just remembered I jam from 10 to 1 every Saturday so I guess I won't be trying for the contest haha. Woops
-
I just realized I am going to both Vancouver shows AND I don't work on Saturdays ever. So might have to see if I can make this work.
-
That's... pretty annoying.

Definitely sounds like there's an octave pedal being used in some bits.

Looks like Holly McNarland will be joining Matt onstage in Toronto. https://instagram.com/p/8vqRhIuDPc/

Chaotic Neutral Cd Packaging - Jewel Case Or Digipak?

It's the same for Moon Over Marin/True Love in the lyrics book. Just gives the songwriters. -
One of my favorite concert moments ever was seeing MGB play at the Calgary Stampede in 2000. They were playing the outdoor Coca-Cola stage, Running for Home was on the set, and it happened to be played as the sun was setting beautifully and with about 5000 people singing along. Absolutely amazing.

It's the Vogue - upper circle seats aren't bad at all from my experience. Granted I've always been in the first 5 or 6 rows of the upper circle when I've been up there. For some reason, at GA shows there, I ALWAYS get the same seat, just to right of the sound booth.

And now I'm going to both Vancouver shows. First with a friend, second with my wife. Hurray!

I'm really glad I either didn't listen to the demos at all or only once when they were first posted. This was a great album to listen to going into it with minimal knowledge of what the songs are gonna sound like. I was so incredibly surprised/impressed by Cloudbusting and I wouldn't have had that same sense of wonder if I had listened to the demo for it.
-
I always have that problem when pre-ordering albums from iTunes, so I don't do it any more. Have listened to the album once. Really digging it so far. A lot better than Arrows, which I am not as high on as I was when it came out. Has that great Livesey sound to it.

Re-reading A Song of Ice and Fire (currently reading A Clash of Kings) but REALLY want to read A Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers and Ancillary Mercy (when it comes out) by Anne Leckie.

Yeah, MGS is a series that has been retconned pretty ridiculously. If you never played MGS3: Snake Eater then Ground Zeroes/Phantom Pain's story is going to be a bit tough to follow. I definitely recommend the MGS HD collection on PS3 (which includes Snake Eater) because the story is fantastic (and insane like MGS stories are), but with the caveat that the controls are pretty horrible by today's standards. The Phantom Pain is a lot of fun though. My Metal Gear Puppy is now a Metal Gear Dog with a sneaking suit and a knife that he kills people with (?!?!). Awesome.
