I'm at the tail end of a cold and my wife just got one, so I'm kind of in the same boat, but definitely hoping we're better by Saturday. Hope you feel better! It's super crappy being at shows when you're sick or missing shows when you're sick.

You're fantastic. While on the topic of Dave Genn... Louise Burns (Vancouver songstress extraordinaire) posted a picture of her in the studio with him - wondering if he played on/helped produce her new album.

If anyone can get pedalboard pics again during the VIP sessions that would be dope.

I've only ever had problems with one disc ever, and that was a used copy of God of War 2 from Blockbuster (LOL). Took it back, got it swapped out. Hopefully Gamestop will just swap your disc out. When stuff gets traded in they typically get sent offsite for refurb to make sure it works, but sometimes you still get a bum copy.

It's pretty cool. He does with Bill Morrison who directed a lot of Matt's videos (all of the Underdogs/BM vids, Carmelina and It's Been a While, according to Wikipedia), so there's some cool anecdotes.

Yep, they sure do.

Got my vinyl from Amazon - it's blue like from the MG store! Yay!

Looks Like Vinyl Releases Of Back Catalog Are Coming
AnOceanPearl replied to mrjason's topic in Matthew Good
Your time frame definitely sounds correct. I dunno if it just happened where the timeframe worked out that CN came out and then a few months later a batch of reissue vinyls came out, but from a marketing standpoint, that's not a bad idea, especially going into 2017 when Matt is playing his (arguably) most loved work in full during a tour and going into record a new album. Definitely a way to keep him in the public's mind for a little bit. -

I'm kind of starting to think the next batch of vinyls might be released near the time the new album comes out, kind of the like the first batch was released around the time Chaotic Neutral came out (if I recall correctly). -
I am interested in how he'll arrange things for some songs during the tour, mostly Jenni's Song actually. During the Arrows tour, "We're Long Gone" was played... I don't remember... a half step or a full step lower than on the album recording, and I kind of feel like Jenni's Song out of all the songs on BM would be the one that Matt might need to do something similar for.

So I made a playlist I've called Beautiful Mixnight where I've dropped the EP tracks into their respective spots on BM and it works really really well IMO.

I can't help but picture Geoff playing the bassline on Born To Kill.
-
That bassline after the first chorus in I Miss New Wave is fantastically Peter Hook-like.

I got an email with download instructions/codes for the digital version of the EP which comes with the purchase of concert tickets, but I'm at work, so can't confirm if it can actually be downloaded at this time or not. I know when Slow Down, Molasses released their most recent album, I got the vinyl with a download code ahead of the official release and was able to redeem and download a digital version. *crossing fingers*

Going to second Vancouver show. All I can really afford right now, but closer to the date, if first show is not sold out, might consider it. Honestly considering trying to reserve a table for Shay and I at the Commodore for that night. I do not need to be right in the weeds for the show, but we'll see.

k.flay tonight! -
Wife and I watched it last night and thought it was excellent. Raised enough questions that I'm eagerly anticipating the next episode.

Saw Explosions in the Sky on Sunday. Easily one of my favorite bands to see live. They just kill it. Next up is Thrice on the 18th, Sigur Ros on the 19th and k.flay in October. -
I've watched like episodes 3-6 or something because I came home one day and Shay was watching it, so I only kinda half paid attention, but, I loved what I saw and can't wait to get a chance to hit it from the beginning. And that soundtrack. So good.

I would also be down with the Vancouver audio.
