  1. Sweet. That was me, indeed. Matt and Christian did not dress up, though at one point Matt put on a giraffe hat (i think) and then played most of Bright End of Nowhere with it on. Pat (he's the drummer, Trev) had an awesome outfit to play with the L&G, what he called the "gay tennis player circa 1970s" or something. Rich (the bass player, btw) had scrubs.

  3. My two least favourite are without a doubt Rat Who Would Be King and Advertising on Police Cars. Rat has two great verses, but the chorus is weak. It takes way too long without changing and I lose interest fast. I would re-work it and put the verses back to back and then go into the chorus/ending. Advertising, though, is one of those songs that I have never liked, right from the moment I heard the title, which is lame. This is like musical gruel to me. Hearing it three times this weekend on the tour didn't make me like it anymore. Why is it popular? People need to realize that "slower" doesn't mean "deeper"....whatever, though. The Rooms version was better, anyway.
  4. I totally saw you, Mr ALMOST HANDSOME. I was at the very front between Matt and Christian.
  5. Haha, jazz indeed.
  6. Stephen Malkmus - Face the Truth The White Stripes - Get Behind Me Satan I didn't get a lot of new albums this year, but these two were so very, very good.
  7. Prime Time Deliverance Strange Days Suburbia Symbolistic White Walls
  8. I thought the 0ct 30 show was the best one I've seen him play, ever, and I'm sure Gursky agrees. That was my 11th time seeing him and it just barely beat out the second June show last year. Seriously, the "Man from Harold Wood" intro was just incredible. The whole weekend included "Advertising on Police Cars", though, which is always a huge bore to me.

  10. Mustard. All over your face. Bon Jovi should really stop making records.

  14. Chasing Amy and Dogma were both great. "...too overt most of the time"? Clerks 2 may in fact suck, but at this point I'm just going to hope for the best. The title is already really shitty, "Passion of the Clerks", so we'll see if Kevin can overcome.
  15. Batman Begins is no doubt the best, but there's nothing quite like sitting down to Batman '66. Robin, figuring out the villians behind the plot: "And we were out at sea! Sea for Catwoman!" SO awesome.

  17. I would have to say none of the above...so I'll go with Suburbia. If he could make Rat Who Would Be King more interesting that would be great.
  18. I really don't like the Tea Party, but I respected what they were doing and it is definitely too bad.

  21. Look, they all sucked post-Beatles. John left and was recording on his own before the Beatles broke up officially, putting out crap like "Cold Turkey". Paul did two solo albums post-Beatles and then the god-awful Wings emerged. The real sad part is they never even gave Paul a wake-up call...they got really successful. And seriously, the bed-in was the most ridiculous full-of-yourself idea ever. How about Bagism?
  22. That sounds like the best idea of all time.
  23. I'm interested to start listening. All I can remember is liking a video from junior high (the pine tree one?) and thinking the music was cool but none of my friends liked it. Can you suggest a good album to start with?
