History repeats itself to often. It's pretty sad, actually.

While I don't like the concept of it, I believe that women should have the right to make their own choices about their body.

'Curious Constructs' - Man...or Astroman?

I really liked the album a lot, although not as much as Beautiful Midnight. Everything from Underdogs to Avalanche has a real flow to it, and that what seems to be lacking here. The best song is either 'Little Terror' or Ex-pats'. Put Out Your Lights - Weakest song he's done in a while, I think, and the poorest track on the album. Poor Man's Grey - Great, energetic song. Not his best lyrics, but clever nonetheless. We're So Heavy - At first I didn't like this song, but it grew on me as I listened to the lyrics more. Empty Road - Excellent, and different. Far better live with a full band. I like the lyrics on this and the alt-country style is really neat. Alert Status Red - Another energetic track. Lyrics are good, too. Good solo and upbeat music. Little Terror - I love the way the music sounds frantic and urgent, heavy on the wah, which is something I haven't heard much of these days. In Love With A Bad Idea - I love this one live. When I hear it, it reminds me of my science teacher and how he used to annoy the Paris Hilton-types in my class. North American For Life - Fast and furious. Totally awesome. Blue Skies Over Bad Lands - This song plods a little bit, and I was surprised at how well it played at the concert. Some of his best lyrics are on this song. It's Been A While Since I Was Your Man - So so. Not that great, but definitly two steps above most sappy love songs i've heard in the past few years. I wouldn't have picked this for the next single. Buffalo Seven - I like the music to this, and the lyrics are excellent, too. Quality Matthew Good all around. Ex-pats of the Blue Mountain Symphony Orchestra - My favourite song on the album. The range of Matt's voice is showed off quite well. The lyrics are cool, and the homage to the Who really works well. Hopeless - Just a fun song to listen to. I don't own an album where there isn't at least one song I don't like, and this one is no different. Totally kickass live ;)

Just to play devil's advocate for a second: why does Israel have to give up territory it conquered from other nations that tried to invade it? Also, Arafat isn't helping matters either by refusing to cede more power to his PM. a few years back, he walked away from a deal that would have given back complete control of 97% of Palestinian land. The wall isn't the answer, terrorism on both sides isn't the answer. I probably don't know as much about this as I should, but I think that we can agree that both sides are fucking up royally.

It's pick and choose, really.

These guys are one of my favourite bands. Now, if only I can stop procrastinating and actually buy an album...

It's just the band that's from the 90's, not Matt as a solo artist. That's probably why they showed 'Apparitions' on their show.

If they're wasting so much time on Kerry's past, then why aren't people focusing on Bush's past? I'd love to hear these question asked: "Is it true that you were an alcoholic until age 40?" or "Have you ever used cocaine?" But I also agree with Moonlight_Graham in that they should move forward and focus on the future and the issues of today. John Stewart's the man!

Is there a version of 'Fated' with a full backing band? I've only heard one with just a couple of acoustics.

The name seems kinda inappropriate, seeing as how these guys are neither truthful nor entirely swift. The other night I saw a John Kerry campaign video from 1996 with one of the vets who claims Kerry is lieing about his service. He was actually telling a crowd about how Kerry turned his boat into enemy fire to save a fellow soldier in Vietnam. And today a lawyer for the Bush campaign stepped down when it was revealed that he was working with the group. One has to wonder why since he's already 'condemned' all 3rd party ads, Bush won't denounce this one specifically. This group did the same thing to Max Cleland who lost BOTH LEGS AND AN ARM IN VIETNAM and to John McCain who spent 6 years as a Vietnam P.O.W. One word to describe all this: bullshit

Emo's great. Dashboard, I think are overrated somewhat, but they have some great stuff nonetheless. 'Vindicated' is a good song, with good lyrics and music.

I heard about this on the Daily Show. This is complete crap, and one has to wonder how they're even getting away with this. This is funny: Oh well. At least we can thank him for making Jon Stewart one of the best TV personalities around.
