Future Shop commercials are so annoying lately... it was funny at first, but now I turn the channel whenever it comes on (which is alot, by the way). It's the same damn sale every weekend, they just call it something new. Whiskas, Honda, and the new Bud commercial (the beer going around the stadium) are all good.

Yeah I agree - he's like Kramer from Seinfeld...good, but when u devote a whole show to a secondary "character" (remember that sitcom Michael Richards had right after Seinfeld? didn't think so), it just doesn't work. We should change this thread into a favourite Lewis Black moment. I liked last week's when he was talking about the US/Mexico border... "yeah, nothing keeps Mexicans away like a giant construction site"...and the kool-aid man knocking the wall down...funny stuff.

I'm more of a sleepwalker - first year in res, I woke up standing outside a girl's door holding my blankie. My roommate had followed me the whole trip just to see what I was going to do. On the weekend, I "woke up" without covers on me...and saw 6 girls in my window smiling and gasping. unable to find the sheets, i quickled rolled under my bed and woke up like that in the morning....pretty nuts considering I live on the 10th floor.

Has anyone out there seen "Waiting"? Finally rented it on the weekend, and it's hilarious... I pretty much had to see it after my friend pulled "the goat" on me at a bar and I had no clue what he was doing. Opinions?

I think Jon Stewart's great - not sure about the whole interviewing celebrities only thing... the last few times I've watched, it's been people I don't even know (conservative authors, republicans, etc). Lewis Black is definitely the best part of the show. As for the Colbert Report....enh. It's like watching another half hour of the Daily Show, but it's not AS funny... it's ok. I usually just turn it off after 5-10 mins and go to bed.

Bizud - I think the idea that neo-cons run Canada is debatable at best. Even if they do (and I'm not arguing they do) occupy high positions in the Harper government, their influence is minimal because of the current minority government in power here in Ottawa. Any comparisons to Bush are mainly just fearmongering by the opposition, using the state of affairs in the US as a picture of what Canada will look like under the conservatives.

I have to agree 100% with Moonlight_Graham on this one... maybe it's an Ottawa thing? haha. Anyways, as a student of political science, I'm used to hearing the anti-Bush stuff in every single class I've taken in University... and now I'm hearing it about the arrests in Toronto. People are saying the conservative government will use this as fuel to join the war in Iraq, that martial law will take over the streets, and neo-cons will come to power in Canada... it's all ridiculous. Canada has values, and needs to protect them. I'm not saying Iraq was just, but as for Afghanistan, joining the fight against KNOWN terrorist groups in a country and helping to restore democracy to a peaceful nation is something we should be a part of. I know it's become cliche since Bush has been spewing this for the last 5 years, but our values ARE under attack...and running away from Afghanistan because 17 people wanted to blow up something in Ontario is insane. It's like giving in to a hostage-taker's demands... it only fuels this kind of behaviour, because they know it has an impact. Support the troops.

My friend and I both laughed out loud at the same point mentioned in the spoiler. They made a big deal about featuring angel in the movie. He was extremely random and I thought the movie woulda been pretty much the exact same without him. This is the third X-men movie, and you only JUST realized that about his wheelchair?
