Independence - I don't get it... you wanted to get fired? Did you have another job lined up or something? On the topic of blogs: I love free speech... but if you're bitching about your job while you're on the clock, it's not right. Also, if your job requires a secret clearance (not saying yours does, Independence), the last thing you should be doing is blogging about what you did at work. If you're not harassing anyone, and don't fall under these 2 categories, I see no problem with it. Back on topic: I can see both points. 1) I'm not allowed to say I'm sick by text message, but I'm allowed to get fired that way. 2) I expect to be able to text in sick, but I don't expect to be fired that way. Interesting...wonder what will happen.

With Matt writing a couple songs seemingly about Jenn, I thought I'd bring this up: can someone sue for defamation of character, etc, concerning songs? I'm not saying Matt's destroying her character or anything... but hey, he does make references to her loving pills. So basically my question is this...have their been any cases of people suing artists over the use of their name in a song? How successful were they? The only one I can think of is Eminem's ex-wife. Mods: feel free to move this post around...not sure where it fits.

Azalroth - you're missing the point though... if I started a thread on influence on Matt Good's new music, would I not be able to discuss him and jen getting divorced? It's more than just a personal relationship... if it affects his music, it's fair game, if u ask me. Edit: I'm not saying I don't like his recent songs... I do like them. If someone wants to discuss why his music has a different tone to it now, i see no reason why we can't do it right here.

I'm sorry, but the forum is devoted specifically to Matthew Good, not a random member of the board (i.e. mrs jesus). The description says "All things Good". I'm pretty sure when a musician we all admire goes into a slump and starts singing pretty depressing stuff, we're allowed to comment on it. It's affecting his style of music, his plans for the future, and everything else. Not to mention, he brings it up on his own website knowing all of us will read it... if he didn't expect conversation about it, he wouldn't have said anything at all. Getting back to topic... Jenn = damn fine woman physically... but yeah, I'd tire of all the in between stuff. Wonder who the cocaine-addicted stock broker is?

My girlfriend and I are planning on adopting 2 kittens this weekend - for all you cat owners out there, do you have any advice? Things we should ask before paying for them? Food/toys/medical check ups/etc? I had cats growing up at home, but this will be my first experience with young kittens.

Take the train to Ottawa/Montreal. VIA is alot more comfortable than a bus - I took the train to toronto and back... it's a 4 hour trip and cost around $40 each way.

If you're flying into Toronto, a bus trip to Calgary isn't really possible, unlike going to Ottawa and Montreal. You'd likely have to fly there, since it's across 2 different time zones. As for Toronto, go to a Jays game... I dunno if you like sports, but I went to one last weekend and it kicked ass. Plus see the CN Tower...there's a glass floor you can stand on. As for Ottawa...yeah, parliament buildings, byward market, canal, tons of museums...

That, and Sydney's reply, were classic. It's a sad, sad thread but I laughed out loud reading those. Sorry about the kittens. My gf and I are going to adopt in the fall and I hope I don't have to post a thread like this

Apparently Zidane is going to be talking about this in the next couple days, and I can't wait to hear what was said. It had to be something pretty insulting for the guy to turn around, in extra time of the world cup final in his last ever international match and headbutt him. TSN is reporting that Materazzi called Zidane a "dirty terrorist"... and tonight, when I was watching RAW (yeah I know...piss off. haha), they said an italian lipreader had deciphered his speech to be something to the effect of "you are a terrible person, i wish a quick death to you and your family...go **** yourself" (I can't remember the exact words)

Man, you guys are freaking Lauren out. The busses aren't packed with crazies and inches deep in puke - that's sick. I take the bus 2-3 times a day and 99% of the time there are no crazy people... but yeah, if you get on at rideau st at 3am, there will be alot of drunk people, a few of which will need to puke... but they don't all just spray on the bus unless they can't get to the door first. Normally I'm pretty drunk then too, so it's a great way of meeting people.

Minority Report isn't an option, so I voted for Saving Private Ryan...kicks ass too
