I thought we could get a thread going on annoying telemarketers - specifically telephone numbers everyone can (and does) ignore when they see them on call display. The most recent ones I've gotten are: 1 613 232 7437 (i don't know about this one - ideas?) 1 800 831 9706 (Rogers) 1 613 567 3100 (don't know) Any more numbers you know of to add to the list? Any good/bad stories about your own experiences with telemarketers? I haven't signed up for anything new lately, but I seem to be getting 3-4 of these calls a week from unknown names.

hahahaha that made me crack up - best one yet. EDIT: guess I should tell one too. A bunch of my friends and I went to a strip club (Barefax, for all you Ottawa'ers)... long story short, my friend got incredibly shit-faced and we bought him a private dance. They went upstairs, he made out with her, gave her his phone number, told her he loved her, and couldn't wait to help raise her baby, which I think was about 3 years old. Classic.

I just wrapped up my 4 years last week, but here's some advice for residence: 1) always keep your door open and play wicked songs from the 90s... my roommate and I were the most popular ones on the floor because we did that, and everyone wants to meet you. Stupid, but true. 2) get the smallest meal plan possible... cooking your own food is the best way to go, but if you have a test the next day, thats the last thing you'll want to do. Get a few $100s on your card. 3) stock up with beer when u first move in/your parents are around with a car. I guess that doesn't work since u guys are 18... but if your parents are open-minded, get a few cases... walking from the beer store to campus with a 24 on your shoulder is a bitch. 4) the 3am fire alarm is the worst part of university - it happened to me 5-6 times in first year. Some drunk ass will pull it and think its funny...meanwhile if youre not drunk and its -30 outside, you'll be incredibly pissed. 5) Remember, there is work to be done too, and it's a bitch - my marks in first year were in the C range, compared to high B/low A in high school. Expect a drop and don't be pissed about it. It happens. Otherwise enjoy yourself... first year was the best time of my life, but I'm not sure what it's like now with everyone being 18. Try to remember to eat healthier stuff (the frosh 15 is true for most people in their first years), and it's ok to skip class as long as you can get the notes from someone. I wanna hear stories about the nastiest, most disease-ridden whores and how each and everyone of you has slept with 'em. That's what university is all about.

big plans for your saturday night? hahaha i liked that. nah, i'm heading to bed... i ask because my gf just moved in and we both are in the habit of leaving our msn on all the time. enh, no biggie. as for the saturday night plans, i'm going to bed - been moving/unpacking shit all day

Kicked ass!!! I cracked up a few times, but overall it was way less cheesy than I thought. SPOILER (Highlight to View) One of the funniest parts was when the guy whips the little dog at the anaconda... No one else really laughed though.

I'm just saying after years of writing on a regular basis and developing a solid fanbase, he ignores them for 6 months and then says "if u want to read my rants, it'll cost you $30" ... that's my side of it all. But I guess we'll never see each other's point of view, so let's just agree to disagree.

What do you expect? The guy had a HUGE fanbase that he was providing with free entertainment (free of charge AND of advertisements), and now you're complaining when he writes a book and sells it for dirt cheap? Come on. I agree with you to a point - if someone offered me a book contract, I'd probably give up writing for free... but that's about it. My main point is this (and I think both of you can agree with me TO A POINT on this): he gave up on his online fanbase, has written like 4-5 things in the last year (just a guess), and instead put all his energy into a money making project: to me, that's selling out... not the fact that he signed a book deal (good for him), but the fact that he has/is ignoring the online fanbase that made him popular in the first place. I'm not the only one that thinks this... he always comments on a ton of people emailing and bitching at him for that. P.S. Dirt Cheap? It was $25 at chapters a few weeks back...I guess we come from different income brackets.

Sell out? He's promoting himself, which is all he's been doing all along. Totally disagree on this one. He made a huge point about not having advertisements on his website because he didnt want to make money ranting... then someone waved a contract in his face and he signed it. Add to this the fact that he has continually neglected his website (of free content) and loyal fans in order to write a book and tour the US to promote his own bank account. To me, that's selling out. I miss the old Maddox.... the one that updated daily and had good stuff to read. All his new stuff seems like crap he just throws together so that he can say he updated.

The guy is a sell out - he never put ads on his website because he didnt want to be part of corporate propaganda...then next thing you know, he updates every 6 months and promotes his book all the time. That being said, some of the stuff on his website is classic.

I disagree - doing stuff to peoples food, the language, the goofing around, guys hitting on young,/underage girls, the boss being a dick, the one woman who is a total freak show, the parties after work... it all happens. "The game" is a bit far-fetched... but having worked as a bartender for 2 years, I've seen all of the above.

Back to my original post, a group of us went out drinking here in Ottawa...and my friend actually whipped his pants down infront of the entire bar and got a few of us with the goat - I'm surprised we didn't get kicked out, cause alot of people saw it. I hadn't seen the movie by that time, but I still got a few kicks in the ass because I was a fag.
