The holidays are over, and thus there's nothing to look forward to, the weather sucks, and the days are short.

It's because the days are short. Whenever it starts getting dark in the middle of the day, it makes me feel like the day is over even though it's like 6 PM. I hate it.

Hahaha nope. And the reason people feel down around winter is due to something called SAD-Seasonal Affective Disorder, which is actually very common.
