  1. hahha yeah... i read it in a music magazine a few months ago, but i don't know whether or not it will materialize.
  2. didn't like 'the colour and the shape'?? and no, shade, i personally have no preference when it comes to either discs. both have their strong points, and both show the foos at their most focussed.
  3. they were on canada am this morning. dont know why i was watching that. dave looked well fed, so i guess no one has to worry.
  4. i dont like how they flog the same (shit) material over and over. they released one CD. remixed it. released another CD and then came their live album. and thennnn they did a live mashup of their record and jay-z's. kind of defeating the point of why jay-z's record was the centre of the mashup craze and yet, still capitalizing on it. i laughed myself silly when i heard of their plans to release a book in the near future.
  5. i love every minute of it. at first listen i was hesatant towards the change in sound (might have something to do with the production and overall approach to making this record) but after my second listen, im loving it. the rock side has so much energy, i love how it's just non-stop. the acoustic record is almost stronger... it really demonstrates the foo's at their best. 'razor' is such a great song to end on, on it's own, it just blew me away. dont take my word for it though, go out and buy the record.
  6. piano intro followed by some awesomely uninspired DJ scratching followed by delicate verse followed by loud chorus with the white guy screaming, rinse and repeat
  7. i've 'dabbled' here and there through the 'american music' course i took this past year, but haven't really explored. the only jazz musician i've actually sat down and listenned to is john zorn. although, a lot of people would argue that you can't really call what he does, jazz.
  8. better make it a ballad
  9. yeah but the bored censorred me for some reason and i was too lazy to figure out how to make it work.
  10. "rock n roll nigerian" can be a fun song.
  11. i remember liking that 'sucks to be you' song. thank the gods i never actually bought the album.
  12. my favorite pink floyd track is "bike".
  13. how many books/movies is it going to take?? harry potter can sod-off.
  14. it looks stupid to me. it might end up being a fine 'reinterpretation' of the story, but i would never have considerred tim burton to be the man to 'accurately' portray roald dahl's vision. the film looks too dark. johnny depp must be burton's lover or something, because no one else would cast him as willy wonka... but i guess after 'planet of the apes' no one would really want to work for burton anywho.
  15. Death From Above 1979 - "Luno (Bloc Party Cover)"
  16. bought the record while on break today at work. so far, so good. some songs i had an immediate liking to, others may take awhile to get used to, but so far i like it. havent really started to criticize it yet, which is a good sign if i dont do it right off the bat.
  17. i wouldn't say it necessarily started at any given point seeing as there has been at least 1 new member on every album except holy wood good point. i should make a habit of fact-checking before i say things.
  18. i think as the quality of music began to decline, as well as the fact that mr. manson is an alleged tyrant of sorts, somewhat led to the 'revolving door' policy. i also agree with the fact that since the band's name is 'marilyn manson', the actual role that the backing band plays is somewhat minimal. perhaps being the reason as to why they went on to bigger and better things.
  19. i'm waiting till tuesday to hear it. i've read good things/reviews of the album, although most say that it isn't anything really different than their previous releases. we shall see.
  20. i think once you're 18 you do so at your own risk.
  21. matt good's version of the song is pretty good. i'm more partial to the reinterpretation done by failure though.
  22. just bought the THTF single the other day. the photek remixes are pretty good.
  23. Robert Plant - "Shine It All Around"
  24. not really. i fell for matt's songwriting when 'avalanche' came out, and it continues to be my favorite album of his, however; he is not my favorite. i've tried to come up with a 'favorite artist' multiple times, but i'm starting to think it's impossible. i like different artists for different reasons and can't really pick just one because none of them are necessarily the same. but if you prefer lists, here's my most recent "top artists (listenned to)" chart, generated by audioscrobbler: 1 Nine Inch Nails 2 Tool 3 Pearl Jam 4 Foo Fighters 5 A Perfect Circle 5 Queens of the Stone Age 7 The Beatles 8 Matthew Good 9 Nirvana 10 Faith No More
