  1. I'm listening to the new Tenacious D CD. I haven't seen the movie. The CD is pretty funny at times, but completely different than the last one. It also has some parts that actually do rock quite a bit.
  2. Obviously that's what the video is all about. That's why the fashion police get him at the end. Not. Funny. At all.
  3. i was just about to search all these out and post them because I saw The pyramid on the weekend. Thank god for you Anton. The Duck one I remembered so vividly that I knew all the music before it came, and it's going to be in my head for weeks. Some of these are just scary to watch again, and to think about how many times I saw them. I really want to see another thing from YTV. Does anyone remember that purple, cow patterned lazyboy that they used to show rocketing down the highway while playing Flight of the Bumblebee? I swear one time they messed up and I watched it for like fifteen minutes. Also, Crusader old man, you, for some reason, were in my dream last night. For a long time too. You were driving borntohula, meg, and myself around in your convertable.
  4. I watched it again recently, then again. It stands up to the test of time and obsession. I thought it was even better because they don't just give you hints about the ending the whole way through, they basically tell you the whole time. Even within the first, I'd say seven seconds, you can figure it out. Which I think makes it that much cooler.
  5. The Proposition was very good. I saw Reno 911!: Miami The Movie. It was good, I really liked it,a nd I really like the show. It wasn't an attack of non-stop funniest things I've ever seen like I hoped it would be, but some parts were very funny. Better than most of the crap out there.
  6. Most over hyped movie since Snakes on a Plane. Looks neat but I bet you can't stand sitting through several hours of that guy yelling about Sparta.
  7. All from Fantasy Goat.
  8. The regular version is 12 something at future shop, but the other two are 18 something. I want to rock out in hi def and surround sound, but i have to save up to do it.
  9. Keeps making references to 'getting his fix'. Probably has a history of heroin abuse. And sweet buns.
  10. Survivalism is out now too, but it's a real leak I think, so quality wise I guess it's not the same. That being said, it's awesome. This is the first single and should start appearing on radio, and I think there will be a video soon anyway. Am I the only nerdlinger following the ARG?
  11. That was a boring and inane few pages. Also, the song was leaked intentionally as part of the ARG campaign for the album. And I love it.
  12. I thought it looked silly at first, but it fits with the concept.
  13. So the excitement about this album didn't really hit me until today. I was glad when I found out the With Teeth B-sides were being dumped, and I was very pleased to find out it was going to be a concept album, but when I found out about the conspiracy. This is exciting stuff. After I read a bunch I had to go to class, and With Teeth never sounded so good.
  14. Because they don't have parents? That reminds me, does anyone remember in Shanghi Knights when Owen Wilson picks on the street orphan and makes fun of him for not having any parents? I found that strange.
  15. I didn't say I hated boredom guy, so you fail. I'll take back that the movie was boring, since I couldn't sit through all of it, so it could have gotten more exciting and gotten something other than ambient forest and assorted house noises from the sound track, but I still didn't like it. And still don't hate boredom, some of my favourite movies are boring. But, I don't expect people to read my whole boring posts, so who's really to blame here?
  16. I really want to get the World of Karl Pilkington. The podcasts are among the funniest things i've ever heard. I'm currently reading Maus, the graphic novel by Art Spiegelman, and butt loads of other stuff for school. Over the reading week I plan to make room for and start Lunar Park or The Informers by Bret Easton Ellis, as well as take back to school with me a book of short stories by Philip K. Dick and Book of Mercy, I think, by Leonard Cohen. Once I'm free from school I plan to try my hand at Nietzsche.
  17. I hated this movie, but that's not entirely fair since I didn't even get through all of it. It set me off on an anti-fantasy tirade and antyhing without a bit of nostalgia attached too it was added to my hate list. I don't think an epic story, but the kind you would read or write as a kid, makes good movies. It was brilliantly directed, but that didn't stop it from being boring. For me, the violence really turned me off of it. Everything's going pretty much like you would expect of the Narnia, Bridge to Terabithia, countless other kids stories where real world child gets sucked into fantasy world special effects, and the real world bad guy is clearly set up as usual, then there's this graphic violence that doesn't fit with the film at all. If it was a fantasy movie aimed more at adults, beyond the short bursts of gore, it would be excusable. SO I just want to give a voice that goes against all the critics who for some reason loved this movie without really saying why.
  18. You'd have to be to pop a cap in his hilarious ass.
  19. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quPPKdSzQoI the director has some great shorts. I highly recomend taking a look.
  20. Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but Newsradio. It wasn't the same after Phil Hartman died, and John Lovitz kinda sucked sometimes, but she show still managed to be one of the funniest and most original sitcoms I've ever seen. It deserves its own thread.
