  1. I don't like when certain songs mention things like a telephone, or blender. It's different if they were doing it metaphorically, but take that Billy Talent song. When he uses the word telephone I had a lot of trouble taking them seriously at all. As for 1989, it makes sense when you relate it to the artist, and maybe Jane does too. But I can see the 40 miles thing causing me to have a double take and just question everything about the song because of it. But you're still crazy about general specificty, how else are you going to say anything?
  2. I just watched El Mariachi. I still don't know if I like Robert Rodriguez or not. Not a bad action movie for an indipendant flick.
  3. That really doesn't do justice to Dracula 3000. It's so much worse. And way funnier because of it. Everyone has to see it.
  4. My friends and I created this game (though I'm sure others have thought of it) where two people connect hands to make a cup type thing, much like you would do when making a fireball, then fill it with lighter juice and let 'er rip. First person to let go loses.
  5. Scot's lying, I know it. He's a big tease.
  6. I like With Club Sauce. It would cause anyone in the know to laugh so hard they'd toss their cookies.
  7. I've got the old BBC one at home and I'm going to watch it over the holidays before I see this one. It should be a fun contrast.
  8. This thread stinks! I hate it ad think it's dumb! You're dumb for starting it! BRRRaaaa!
  9. The 23rd. I just found out about this movie the other day and I'm very excited about it. Great cast and story and it looks like the kind of Spielberg film that doesn't suck.
  10. Electric guitars are just so sexy. Mine is a sucky used no name one and I still want to sleep with it. So, yah.
  11. Yah that time that he said that it was the best song he'd written to date (he being Matthew Good formerly of the Matthew Good Band), I was like nuh uh no way.
  12. Last night I watched Donnie Darko for the first time in a long time. I still like it, but it is flawed, and I don't like the way other people like it as much as they do. I've decided I'm going to read up on the stuff behind the films story so I can better understand it and enjoy some of the finer details in the film.
  13. After neglecting it for months I finally finished Crime and Punishment. I still have to read the epilogue, but I finished the story. I'd have to say I liked for the most part. I think some of my problems with it come from the translation and the fact that it was written in 1866. It's also very difficult for me, a North American of British decent, to wrap my head around the Russian naming system. Each character has like 20 names, which adds to confusion. I can't decide if the book is a lot of suspense with no pay off, or a lot of really well written nothingness with a few tense parts and a well rounded but quick conclusion. For the next week or so I will be reading nothing but textbooks. Then I have to try and read two other books I've been meaning to read before Christmas comes, because I have a feeling I'm going to get a lot of books.
  14. People still confuse him for Dave Matthews from time to time.
  15. In a related story, last year me and two other guys, one of which was and is my roommate, got a hold of some nail polish remover that some foolish girl had left in our apartment. We then went on to fill up that little trench on pop cans and set it on fire. Then we started lighting up fluid we poured on plastic caps until it would melt through. Then I think we just lit the table on fire. THEN we moved into the bathroom where there was water available. My friend proceeded to cover his hand in nailpolish remover and light that on fire, running it under the tap right away. Then came the melding of toilet humour with fire humour. I thought it would be great to try and light the seat of the toilet on fire. We tried but just couldnt get it to work. Then I decided to pour what was left into the bowl and light that. I was willing to sacrifice my arm hairs to light it, but didn't take into account that all that fluid that didn't light on the seat, ended up in the bowl. So by the time I got it lit, the flames shot up and burned off my right eye lashes. Somehow all my other hair went unsinged. Epilogue, I never did get kicked out of residence despite all the damages. The end.
  16. Fire brought nothing but trouble when my friends and I went through our pyromania phase. Actually, that's not true, it brought endless enjoyment as well.
  17. Baywatch Theme - David Hasselhoff. Shit yah.
  18. I think a lot of people have heard of them too. Too many people than what they deserve.
  19. When I saw him with my aunt and uncle this year they were really suprised. They kept saying that he should at the very least be just as popular as Tragically Hip, and that's only in the canadaian market. I've always thought he was underrated because the majority of people only know the singles, which compared to the rest of an album, they tend to just be throw away songs. I also don't think it really matters. He was big enough that I think Universal wants to be hanging on to him for a little while, and I doubt he cares since he's always wanted to do things that the majority of people won't like.
  20. I think you should have to pass a test to be allowed to vote, and if you don't pass the test you lose all citizen rights. In this fantasy world, a person of any age can vote.
