I haven't seen him live, but on the videos where he is shown playing the guitar, his part sounds really good... and what someone said before, he wrote the guitar parts in WLRRR, so... he must be kinda good, don't u think so?

I like different versions of songs... maybe these remixes don't sound very different from the original ones, but its refreshing to hear other versions of the same song from time to time... in the same way as sometimes some songs live versions are different from the studio ones...

Hi everybody, Has anyone gotten and heard the new The Cure's album? Any comments/opinions on it? I havent been able to liste to it again, I hope i can get it sometime along this week... It was out on Monday 28th regards, juanpe

in any case, is it not one of your favorite songs in this album, guys? ;) Because it is my third favorite one (after we're so heavy and little terror, of course) and yes, those lyrics seem to fit with that idea of the pic and going thru a bad time in that period and all that... but since his lyrics are also so socially and politically commited, probably they contain other meanings...

yeah, it is very difficult to keep up with Matt stuff if you are not in Canada... I thought that it would be easier in the States because you are neighboring countries, but i can see it is not ;) ne ways, thanx to technology, thanx to the Internet, things can be solved and no matter how far you live, you can always keep up with Matt music anytime you feel like it

yeah, I know what you mean and I know that you are not supporting wars... i see your point... in the same way that humanity and all human beins have this "evil part" inside... in most of the cases it doesnt "show up", but when it does... hatred appears and greed and that is what provokes wars basically

I recommend her to you too ;) you won't regret, i'm sure about it -
yes, it is true... lyrics are more politically oriented and political ideas are clear and very direct ;) but remember previous lyrics too, they were very political-oriented too, not so overt in their expression of political ideas, but still very politically oriented  i'm glad he expresses his ideas more overtly than before
-
totally agree on that ;)
-
in mine too ;) matt will always be number one... at least in my heart
-
hehe ;) that's where i got the WLRRR lyrics from, thanx for your job there, Danimal.

Morrissey live
juanpe replied to juanpe's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
no problem man ;) of course, if you listen to Morrissey and you like his music, you should also listen to The Smiths (even better than Morrissey as solo)... they have two compilation CDs that you may want to get: "Vol. 1-Best of the Smiths" and "Vol. 2-Best of the Smiths" hope you like them -
thanx Todman ;)
-
yes ;) actually that's my favorite song from this album... these ones are also prety good: "Saturdays Saturdays I'm reminded of Bombs away Over the houses When it could have been, should have been doves Mind a waste Out on the street They'll sign you up Get a taste Beat you down When it could have been, should have been love" (Expats of the blue mountain symphony orchestra)

Morrissey live
juanpe replied to juanpe's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
Have u ever heard of "The Smiths"? it was a typical British indie band from the 80s (it's not my period of time but i love the techno and indie music from those years:) ) together with The Cure, Depeche Mode... Morrissey was the vocal singer of that band and after some years playing, the band broke up and Morrissey started his solo career. He's already published many solo CDs but he's never come to Spain... the last time he came to Spain was 19 years ago and I was too lil to go to a concert ;) His last album - if you can download it somewhere, do it Danimal, its pretty good - is called "You are the quarry"... he's got a very sweet voice and his lyrics are simply great... he also sounds very very British
