  1. he may not be the best guitarrist to ever play... but someone who plays the guitar with his eyes closed sometimes is what you say, danimal, just a sign of someone who feels his music, who gets his music inside, who wants to express something with it... and i just love this ;)
  2. i can't find it either!!! ;) r u sure there is a mistake?
  3. actually I've seen them twice - last year and 2 years ago - and I couldnt believe my buddy when he was telling me that... but I trust him because he's even more a fan of them than me and he got back from the concert very disappointed... maybe it was just that concert that went bad... for downloading music I use a program called "e-mule" (www.emule-project.net) where you can find tones of music and many complete albums (in zipped files) hope it works for you
  4. don't know about their "past", I know their webpage is: www.thirtysecondstomars.com I guess in the biography section they say something about them ;)
  5. I like them very much but my buddy went to see them live last weekend (they played as part of a summer festival in Galicia, northwest of Spain) and he's told me that he got very disappointed by their performance: they didnt sound very well and the voice was not as percet as always ;)
  6. that's why i didnt vote ;) i wouldnt make up my mind because I like Matt both as a solo and as a MGB
  7. of course, danimal ;) nobody is trying to "make" other people change their tastes...
  8. their selftitled album is from 2002 ;)
  9. get their album - dont know, as i said before, if they have a second album or not - because they're pretty good: they mix guitar kinda of music with some metalic rock style
  10. really? ;) that's what you feel with their songs? that's why I love their songs, they are very deep, showing deep feelings but to the point of being "music-to-slit-your-wrists-to"... I dont get that feeling
  11. I just heard it too... and I dont find that mistake either... guess it is because I am not a very good music expert ;) but i dont find that mistake
  12. I agree with you, as long as MG is there, the rest can work out ;)
  13. don't expect it to be a "movie"... it is more a documentary, kinda Bowling for Columbine... and I think it is a must for those who are worried about social issues AND specially to cry out and "denounce" Bush and his policy
  14. whenever I can I always go to concerts. In Madrid there are many small pubs and bars where live concerts are very usual, so I've seen many Spanish and British indie bands there which have later been pretty famous (Blur, Nada Surf...)... and then, of course, all possible summer festivals that i can attend to: I have just gotten back from the AV Festival (in Malaga, the south of Spain) with Morrissey, Tim Booth, etc... I'm going to the Xacobeo 2004 festival (northwest of Spain) mid july (with Muse, The Cure, Chemical Brothers, Primal Scream...) and at the same time Oporto Festival (in Portugal) with the same bands who play in the Xacobeo 2004 Festival + PJ Harvey... and then in August I will attend Benicassim Festival (southeast of Spain), one of the most famous and important european festival... I love my favorite bands live ;)
  15. I can't wait to get it ;) I have been out these days - in a Festival in the south of Spain watching Morrissey live  - and it is the first thing I will be doing tomorrow when music stores open: get the new The Cure album
  16. and not only those two points you mention, toadman, but also that they sing well, that their voice is special and that they may reproduce all their work in a concert... that's what happens with PJ Harvey: she writes her own songs/musica, she's not a product of a big record label - actually, and i know that, he doesnt get pressure from the record label, she writes what she wants and when she wants it - AND she sings like an angel ;)
  17. I like 30 secs to Mars... they only have that selftitled CD, right? that's the only one I have, don't know if they have a new one

    DVD

a concert DVD + some of his videos, and comments on social issues... that is a music part and more a documentary part... probably a double DVD? ;)

    Concerts

I've never attended a Matt's concert but I'm very interested in reading people's reactions in his concerts ;)

    the vso

it's not one of my most favorite songs, but I must admit that it is pretty good and the live version sounds very good too
  21. if you have missed some of his CDs and you don't mind getting his non original copies, try to download them from the Hub... you won't have the original copy, but at least you will be able to hear his songs... that's what I have, except the two BM versions, the rest of the albums and compilations and B-sides and rareties are non-original versions downloaded from the Internet or from the Hub - thanks so much to those people who let me download the albums from them... ;) - it's very hard for me to get his music in my country...
  22. I hadn't even noticed that...
  23. I just want him to keep on writing great songs as the ones he does ;) ...
  24. I don't think "the words he chooses are often to cryptic to clearly identify exactly want he was thinking about"... they have a meaning and each of the songs means something to me, either just the words or the combination of words, music and voice... they provoke some feelings on me different from each of the songs
  25. I've also heard it - some versions available on the Hub - and it sounds great, i really like these kinda songs (just wish i could ever hear "the rat who would be king" live) live
