What are you listening to?
ecnarf replied to Matt's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
An internet jazz radio station on iTunes. Wish they'd tell me what I'm listening to. -
The answers, in this order: 1: No 2: It's not. Although Ryan has joined matt's band, and they're doing a show sometime soon. The band you're thinking of is Age of Electric.

Age of Electric -
You're not serious, are you? Sure, Fox is a hero, I won't dispute that. But putting him on money? Doubt it. Like I said before, it's only figureheads (the queen and some governor generals) and prime ministers that get on money. But Rick Mercer? He's a cultural icon at most. Imagine if Britney Spears were put on money in the united states, because that's the equivalent, putting a cultural icon on our money.

No. They're all from Washington, although I think Dave went to high school in virginia.

Yeah, a hockey player on our money, that would be just taking it a bit too far.

Cranky - Age of Electric -
Nothing quite screams "culture" like printing people from your country on your money, eh? Besides, it's usually prime ministers that get put on the bills, anyway, so terry fox and tommy douglas are out of the picture. The only conclusion I could see is that the Queen would be replaced with Trudeau.

I don't really care, as much as the GG's spending habits piss me off, we may as well keep the Queen. It's not as though when we become a republic, we're going to become more independant or more democratic. The head of state is just a figurehead, and the whole thing about onlyy a member of the church of england being head of state is a load of crap, seeing as all members of the royal family are anglican. For all technicalities, the Queen is the head of state, but Britain holds no power whatsoever to Canada. And I'm supposed to believe that "independance" from Britain will improve our status worldwide?

Religion, Evolution, The Big Bang!

People do have the right to be stupid. Yeah, you seem to be excercising that right more than most. -
It's no big deal to me. People can burn what they please. It'll be a sad day when the law decides that because of a design printed on an object, it automatically becomes worth more than any other piece of nylon.

I'm creepd out, too, his stomach looks... um... scary. He kinda reminds me of Scott Weiland in the "Slither" video. Put some proper clothes on. -

Age Of Electric

Wow, the entire canadian alt-rock music scene is inbred. But, Mrs. Jesus, so you know, saturnine's being down with AOE since '95 makes him 24% cooler than the rest of us. -
So, I managed to get Age of Electric's "Make a Pest a Pet" from the library, it sounds pretty cool. Anybody else ever heard of them? If you haven't, Ryan Dahle from Limblifter does the vocals, and Kurt Dahle from the New Pornographers (this is before both those two bands formed) does the drums. It's got a really nice sound to it, makes for a really solid album.

Isn't Sgt. Pepper's an album by the Beatles? Pardon my ignorance. -

She plays an upright bass, so it wouldn't be a stretch if she played violin.
