  1. I am trying to complete this last mission in GTA 4 and I have failed it literally about 10 times. Fucking shit.
  2. GOOD SONG. The Smashing Pumpkins - 99 Floors
  3. :\ It didn't look so big in the picture.
  4. Why is that Gish in such cheap packaging? Mine is in a standard jewel case. Is that just the booklet there?
  5. Fans of Radiohead, Elliott Smith, and or Nick Drake who also find appeal in piano music (or different interpretations in general) should check out Christopher O'Riley. He has 2 albums featuring covers of Radiohead music on piano as well as an album each of Elliott Smith and Nick Drake. The music is sometimes spot on, sometimes a bit more improvised and sporadic, but it always pleases my ears. The emotion of each tune really seems to come out in a different way on the piano. As a piano player myself, I can't help but draw inspiration from such an artist who finds interest in presenting something in a different way and doesn't feel tied down to classical pieces, if you know what I mean. Here are some examples: (Radiohead - Karma Police) (Elliott Smith - Waltz #1) (Radiohead - Exit Music for a Film) This music definitely helped me through college, let me tell you. So check it out and say whatcha think.
  6. I heard it. It's not as good as G.L.O.W. in my opinion. I haven't really listened to FOL all that much. More than poking fun at the abbreviation titles, people in SP circles are commenting on Billy and his "come on, come on" choruses of late. haha.
  7. I don't have it, but my brother does and insists I would enjoy it. He says the documentary is basically Billy being crazy for an hour. Haha...
  8. Well actually I read that this Black Mesa project, while essentially a mod, acts as a total remake of the original Half-Life. It uses the source engine and the graphics are improved tremendously. It supposedly may be done some time this year and would be available free to download for anyone that has the most recent expansion (at least that is what I was told). It would be downloadable through steam. You may want to wait for that or just go ahead and play the original. Either would be a good experience. I loved Half-Life 2, but for some reason I found the story and the level design of HL1 more interesting and I felt like there was a greater sense of urgency in that game. City 17 is really cool, but I didn't feel that same sense of urgency. I think it's because so many things are happening in the original and the events were all so sudden that you just don't know what's going on and you're trying to gtfo out alive, whereas HL2 you sort of know what to expect. I'm really looking forward to that black mesa mod. That will be awesome. There's a trailer for it on youtube if you care to watch. Here's the link. Not sure how to embed it on this board:
  9. Just finished playing the 2 expansion episodes for Half-Life 2 (finally). the original Half-Life is still better than 2 and its expansions, I think. I saw this trailer for "black mesa" which if it's actually true and is released sometime this year I will have to get it. I am still also looking forward to the supposedly planned 3rd expansion episode for half-life 2. That may not come out til next year though, I hear. Valve is so slow with their games. Oy. I need to play some of Bully now before RE5 comes out.
  10. Less than a month away. Can't wait.
  11. Radiohead - Fake Plastic Trees
  12. No no. the song on the album was Jesus, I / Mary Star of the Sea which was 14 minutes. I have a 17 minute version of just Mary Star of the Sea, which is basically 9 more minutes added to the song. 30 minute silverfuck is awesome. I need to find one. On the recent SP DVD release, If All Goes Wrong, they played a new song "Gossamer" for 33 minutes. I have a DVD rip of it. I love how Billy loves being progressive.
  13. Back in 2001 I often thought about how many people I potentially saw on the bus or at the train station daily that may have died on 9/11. I don't know, however...the streets of my neighborhood are all named after fallen firefighters who have connections to the event and the streets. I fucking hate these kinds of tragedies...
  14. Nonsense. Zwan had a ton of good songs. I just listened to some today. Most of the best stuff was played live and never recorded, and the better songs like Mary Star of the Sea were extended to like, 17 minutes when played live. I wish some of the Zwan songs weren't banished, never to be played again. It's a shame. What Have They Done To Me, God's Gonna Set This World On Fire, Glorious, A New Poetry, Wasting Time, Think You Know, W.P., A Certain Kind of Change, etc. These are awesome songs. The album overall I think is good although I would have replaced some songs with what I just listed. As I said, I saw SP in November and they fucking flat out ROCK. There's nothing wrong with just plain ole' rocking out. And even if they don't change it up, their greatest moments will always be behind them. That shouldn't stop anyone from enjoying the new songs they put out. I've enjoyed many of them. I think people expect to much, are just too hard to please, or just don't like the way Billy does business and it affects the way they think of the music.
  15. http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/02/13/plane.cra...york/index.html http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPoqhEHKNQk Shit... You still can't be afraid to fly...the odds are so against this, but this is just awful. Goddamn. And why does this always happen in NY state O_O RIP
  16. I love filling out shit like a forum profile. ;)
  17. Awesome. Gish is great. I Am One + Siva + Rhino + Bury Me + Crush = Win
  18. I never actually bought Earphoria. I just burned my brother's copy.
  19. I just bought "Goodbye Blues" by The Hush Sound. It's pretty darn good. Doesn't beat their previous release "Live Vines" but it feels like a continuation of it and I have no problem with that. Fun band. Check em out.
  20. Yes - I've Seen All Good People
  21. Running up big bar/restaurant tabs would make me feel like a big shot. I must do this in the future.
  22. Ryan Adams - World War I think you're thinking about "Don't Panic"
  23. I have a canon A610 and I've tried that method already, but I wasn't satisfied with the results.
  24. I find him to be "alright" but I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to him. I like Christopher O'Riley's piano interpretations more than the originals, actually...
