  1. i love how the states try to screw with everyone. <not.> i'm waiting for the day when the world gets so cheesed off that we all just stop trade with them for one day, and watch their economy fall apart. then we drag their arses out of it, and put the people who make the bad decisions and such in their place. come to think of it, they should do that for virtually every country at some point... canada's next.
  2. i totally agree with abstinence, but that's my choice. i figure if you're going to be having sex, you'd better be able to accept whatever possible consequences go with it, be it an STD (politically correct: apparently it's STI (for infection) now) or a baby.
  3. hey, you're entitled to your opinion. i think some pretty lousy movies are pretty good too. but the titles escape me. ;) i guess it's because i'm not humble enough to think i have bad taste. well, dodgeball was pretty stupid, and i liked that... zoolander was just pathetic. stupid beyond belief. if i got a penny for every time i laughed during that movie, i'd be lucky if i got a quarter to call my friend up and tell him how much his taste in movies sucks. wow. i'm off topic once again. what a surprise.
  4. agreed. totally. why don't people appreciate things for what they're worth? artists are allowed to do whatever they want. criticize if you will, but who are you to judge? if they're extending themselves as artists or making a point or something, then it's worth it. edit: i can't reply on that forum, and i don't feel like signing up... meh.
  5. i've seen this thread before... i'd say the fine art of falling apart. i'm surprised nobody has snapped on you for not searching for the thread. it's only a matter of time. haha.
  6. i do. but i also liked the first one... meh. i just appreciate music for what it is. i tend not to criticize it, but i guess i'm sorta lying there, because i can be pretty judgmental. shoot me, i'm a hypocrite. what a surprise. i had an epiphany about music and critics earlier today, but like most epiphanies, they escape you when you try to recall them later when you can write them down.
  7. yet another reason for me to not go to the movies. as if i didn't have enough... just read the book already. books are almost always better. i'd say always, but you know... some movies actually do the book justice. rare, but yeah. and some things were written as a script in the first place... never mind. i haven't seen it, and i don't intend on seeing it.
  8. i know i was being vague. i just remember some people complaining a while back about kids not being taught about homosexuality or something. and of course, that set off the religious firebrands... i hate how people claim religion or some 'higher authourity' as a justification for rampant intolerance. it's disgusting, really. and yeah... i don't really know where i was going with this thread. just go with the flow. rant about whatever you want... that's all i ever do... my thoughts just flow off topic like there's no tomorrow. haha. and, for the record, they don't teach abstinence. they give you the straight fact that the only guarantee that you won't get somebody pregnant is if you don't have sex with them. they talk about statistics and stuff, and tell you what safe sex is and all, but they leave it open ended and let you make your own choice. i'm just curious to see what people think about the whole 'imposing your beliefs on others' issue. this is just a miniscule, and i guess, in the grand scheme of things, not really relevant thing. go me. ;) i'm noted for always saying and doing irrelevant things.
  9. in light of something i read on the xmas/christmas/other thread... specifically, this response... makes sense to me... here's my take on society. sure, we live in essentially a christian based society. deny that if you choose to, but we do. a lot of our laws and opinions come from underlying influences from that sort of thing. i'm generalizing, so don't shoot me down... just let me get to the point, then feel free to rant. so, what do you think of teaching both hetero and homosexual lifestyles in schools? this is a rather hot button topic, to put it that way... kinda like all those things that go against tradition. you name it, the whole against the anthem thing and all those other objections. there've been things in the news where various religious sectors want to impose their beliefs into law or be exempt from certain things, etcetera. i'm not saying other religions or anything... i guess i'm generally referring to basic imposition of your beliefs on others. i don't think we should impose things on others, regardless of how 'right' we think we are. we all have to live here. there's no sense in fighting over everything. accept each other's differences. revel in them. that's what makes everyone unique and interesting. different. yeah, go ahead and rant about any imposition on others. be it the abortion/christianity issue, the 'self government' of muslims or aboriginal peoples, or anything else that comes to mind... maybe even... this topic? i don't mind. i just want to see what you guys think. that's where i stand. i hope i made sense. edit: all things in moderation. balance is key. never substitute one extreme for the other.
  10. Led Zeppelin - Whole Lotta Love
  11. wherever you are is my home.
  12. i put some. he has a lot of pertinent things to say. but you'd just be completely mindless to blindly agree with everything he says. i haven't really heard him say anything i completely disagree with yet, but you know. i'm not going to say yes, because that would be blind trust. and blind trust is a fallacy when it comes to things like that.
  13. star trek is classic. especially next gen. the prequel one is good too. you know, the one with scott bakula. great actor. tossup between star trek and xfiles.
  14. i don't see us making high calibre music, so who are we to judge? i think artists should be allowed to do whatever they so choose without criticism. i highly doubt that matt would go around criticizing you for what you wear or something. i guess music critiquing isn't really meant for someone like me, who just appreciates everything for what it is. i enjoy all of his stuff. sure, some i prefer more than others, but that's personal preference. just appreciate it for what it is. and yeah, i understand the nf$ concept. makes perfect sense. which means i need to accumulate more. haha. i hope i make sense. <shrugs> if you have a difference of opinion, that's fine. i'll respect your opinion even if i don't agree. why don't we just appreciate the song for what it's worth?
  15. black sabbath - sweet leaf
  16. the fact that christianity is the reason for the holiday, christmas? who knows. it's all religious tendencies, in the end. i'm not going to force my christianity on others. i respect what they believe or don't believe. that's how it should be.
  17. matthew good - while we were hunting rabbits
  18. yeah... he's an anomaly. sensationalism is fun, no matter what form it is packaged in. i used to think he had a decent view of things, until you think about such things, and realize that everybody is skewed, and there's so much b.s. out there that you have to find the good the bad and the ugly in everything. unless we're talking lauren. where there's only good.
  19. i don't have a revolving door either... where do you think i live? the hilton?
  20. haha. and you meant unlikely, right...
  21. rise against - alive and well
  22. i have three versions... original (radio edit is just shortened original, far as i can tell...) acoustic and... the solo one. meaning, it has a crazy solo in it. if i recall, i got it of houseofsmokeandmirrors.com in other words, buy the enhanced avalanche cd and stick it in the drive. or i could just be completely wrong. it's happened many a time before.
