  1. i have it. it's amazing. lauren, listen to it now.
  2. does plural count? screw it. rise against - to them these streets belong
  3. i got it kinda wrong. my bad.
  4. just because you don't want canada to break up doesn't mean you're a nationalist. i don't want us to fall apart.
  5. true. which is why michael moore sells as well. kinda sad, when you think about it.
  6. yup. ;) happy holidays! burn a christmas tree if you're anarchist. or just do it if you hate commercialism. yay!
  7. true. where's that quote of matt's? "It's no different than some kids re-enacting Full Metal Jacket in the hallways of their school in some white, suburban enclave. You're glued to your TV because you think 'Oh my god! How could this happen? Why did this happen? Whose fault is it?' wa, wa, fucking wa. 300 people get hacked to bits in their sleep in some village in North Africa and it gets a blurb in the newspaper. But when something happens in the quiet confines of our perfect little world then it's a sure-fire sign that chaos is about to break loose in the streets, and Satan is posessing the children. The only thing that it is a reflection of is our society's egomania. We figure we're so socially superior to everyone else that things of that nature should be uncommon. What we forget is that, like in every great society, the barbarians will one day be at our gates and we will slip quietly into the confines of some coffee-table book about ancient civilizations. And like those civilizations we were just as violenly prolific as we were creative, ingenious, and compassionate. Because it all comes in a neat little package that has yet to be altered during our tenure on this rock. Welcome to life in the blind man's utopia. Retain ticket stub for possible refund." - Matthew Good
  8. true. and utopia is a beautiful thing. unfortunately, we're all self serving creatures sometimes. some of us more than others. i'm probably the more.
  9. communism is a good idea. but it'll never work. anarchy is a bad idea. it's a system of perpetually tearing down. it'll never work, not even in a surreal future. i disagree with you about anarchy. it's just stupid.
  10. i haven't heard a single b-side from wlrrr. somebody, please save me. i am severely lacking b-sides and demos.
  11. anarchy. hahahhahahha. stupidest concept EVER! i'm not talking revolution. i'm talking the neverending, cyclical thing that so many kids nowadays seem to be proponents of. down with the government! do you kids even know why you say such things? no. anarchy is for morons. you cannot perpetuate a system that screws itself. without government, you have nothing. no health care, no law, no order, pretty much everything's shot. maybe you people think that's a good thing. it's not... check all the lawlessness and things that happen when there is a lack of law and order. racism and intolerance rise up. the powerful and violent exploit the weak. crime rises, fatalities rise. all those things you conspiracy theorists conjure up about the feds actually happen when you leave things to the hands of those without compassion. on an unrelated note, conspiracy theories are sometimes entertaining. have you morons learned anything? the symbol is copyrighted. is that not the biggest contradiction right there? you just sold yourself out to the man. he made a nice chunk of change off your shirt by getting some underpaid, underaged workers in some sweatshop somewhere. not to mention he's laughing at his exploitation of your morals. go read nothing nice to say. hilarious punk comic. www.nothingnice.com the artist, mitch clem, is a pretty cool guy. he talks about hot topic and anarchy's idiocy and mass marketed image in one of his comics and rants. he's a funny guy. with freaking amazing good taste in music. heh. anybody say against me!? plus, he's got a good sense of humor. on that note... i don't like anti-flag much. in fact, when i find that link... now, because i love against me!, and the song is rather tongue in cheek... go listen to: against me! - baby, i'm an anarchist! against me! - those anarcho punks are mysterious disclaimer: when i say you people, in this reference, i mean... those that support anarchy. sorry for any misunderstandings. and against me! is not anarchical. and i hope i got everything i wanted to say in there.
  12. i never said i was a nationalist. i just respect what the flag is supposed to stand for. humanity and commonality.
  13. yeah. professional politicians are strange. most just kiss a lot of arse. as the saying goes... 'it's not who you know... it's who you blow.' zing! ;) just thought i'd make a lighthearted comment, because this world is really depressing sometimes.
  14. i like what i've heard of interpol. good choice. now, i say, jack johnson. and someone should go back in time and insert against me! into the list.
  15. now that's a dream! i don't dream often. dreams are usually pretty entertaining though.
  16. why can people not see the good points within other parties mandates? i don't get it. and that party whip thing is absolute bs. it should be illegal. why does democracy shoot itself in the back? go listen to... against me! - walking is still honest against me! - sink, florida, sink
  17. on the courtney love crackwhore scale, which i have accurately tested, and which courtney love is the benchmark for... anne coulter rates a 9.5. for completely biased, blatantly offensive, and just plain disgusting drivel. i flipped through a book of hers in chapters. i wanted to burn it. no, i'm not super left wing. she is a nutcase, though. her and rush limbaugh and all those other bought off bastards. michael moore doesn't hold much credibility with me anymore either, for the record. too much sensationalism. but he's still better for being compassionate.
  18. i don't believe in blind patriotism. but that flag means a damn lot. the representation is of the blood spilt. there lies importance in that. THE SOLDIER It is the soldier that harbors our freedom. It is the soldier that shields the innocent. It is the soldier that warrants respect. It is the soldier that goes unseen. It is the soldier that is dishonored. It is the soldier that is reviled. It is the soldier that bears our burden. It is the soldier that relinquishes his life. It is the soldier that bleeds. It is the soldier that is alienated. It is the soldier that is rejected. It is the soldier that is forgotten. It is the soldier that fights and It is the soldier that dies. Let us take notice. Let us revere. Let us love. Let us hold close. Let us acknowledge and Let us not forget the Soldier. i don't remember who wrote that. but the site says copyright 2002, christy canyon. so let's assume. that actually wasn't the one i was looking for. but that's alright. THE SOLDIER IT IS THE SOLDIER, NOT THE REPORTER, WHO GAVE US FREEDOM OF THE PRESS. IT IS THE SOLDIER, NOT THE POET, WHO GAVE US FREEDOM OF SPEECH. IT IS THE SOLDIER, NOT THE CAMPUS ORGANIZER, WHO GAVE US FREEDOM TO DEMONSTRATE. IT IS THE SOLDIER, NOT THE PREACHER, WHO GAVE US FREEDOM OF RELIGION. IT IS THE SOLDIER WHO SALUTES THE FLAG, WHO SERVES BENEATH THE FLAG, WHOSE COFFIN IS DRAPED BY THE FLAG, WHO ALLOWS THE PROTESTER TO BURN THE FLAG......... that's what i was looking for. think about it. think beyond the anti-war thing for a moment. think about war as a sometimes necessary evil. a means to peace. now go read 'shake hands with the devil.' it will open your mind. it's continuing to open mine. in summary, i'm not for war. i'm against it. i don't know if i make sense, but the flag and the anthem are things i actually respect now. i know what they represent, and that deserves respect. i am disgusted when people do not shut up during the anthem at school. i am saddened when they do not realize why we have a moment of silence. it is not only for the blood lost of our own, it is for the millions of innocents. it's for humanity. you may not understand. i don't really expect you to. and i'm not a blind patriot. in fact, far from it. i don't really feel like arguing this point. and i think i completely went off topic once again. sorry. i tend to ramble. now go listen to these songs. against me! - baby, i'm an anarchist! (because it's light hearted) against me! - those anarcho punks are mysterious... matthew good - pledge of allegiance john lennon - imagine (or the 'a perfect circle' cover) sage francis - makeshift patriot and our country does represent peace and a common bond of humanity. not like we're perfect... screw it. i hope you understand what i'm saying.
  19. in its most basic form... the clause was used to unite canada. i can't recall the date. i'm pretty sure it was during trudeau's era, if i remember. i can't really recall who was complaining, but it was probably the french... (sorry, but it's true. and, for the record, i happen to like most french people. most of them are really nice. so bite me.) anyways... basically, each province wanted something different. to appease them, they left this clause in that makes the entire federal government basically null and void. let me explain. if the feds want to make it illegal to, i don't know, pick something contentious... snort crack. yeah, it's already illegal, but what if. anyways, if they want to, and they pass the legislation in ottawa (at the house of commons and the senate and all that crap), it DOES NOT NECESSARILY APPLY in all the provinces. IF the notwithstanding clause is called up, it renders the power of the federal government useless, and also by the feds own admission. kinda ironic, isn't it? but desperate times, desperate measures. kinda like the meech lake accord. and it's entirely possible that i'm screwing up terminology and confusing events. someone, please correct me when i'm wrong. at its most essential form, it's like having your parents tell you to do something, and you having the power to veto pretty much anything you don't like. sure, it's an exaggeration, but i hope you get the idea. there are upsides. like, the whole privacy invasion thing. and some other things. the french loyalists/separatists love it, because it lets them mess with what ever they want. i don't really mind what they do. i like french people. i like multiculturalism. there's something special about montreal, perhaps embedded in the language, but that's arguable. they deemed it necessary, so it's there. that's why quebec isn't legally obliged to have english anywhere... if i recall correctly. it's entirely possible that i'm completely wrong and misleading. but i hope i'm not. i think i got the basic point across...
  20. he deserved it. yeah, i just took the kid in question who was being the biggest jerk, and i bashed his face in with my knee. i almost broke his nose. i don't really remember much of what happened. i've never had that much sheer rage coursing through my veins. it's kinda frightening. also frighteningly intoxicating. yeah, i remember punching a few other people in the face. and screaming obscenities at the top of my lungs, which could be heard all over the soccer field. i also recall when the most arrogant prick i ever met said something racist when i took my glasses off and started crying and shaking from sheer rage. so i wheeled around and punched him. i remember him having a black eye for a while, and he punched me in the back of the skull. i laughed. you don't know what the expression seeing red really means til you lose it. i hate people sometimes. mind you, i suppose none of this is justifiable. i don't know. i'd do it again without thought, if that's what it takes. there are some things i can't stand. namely, those are... rape/abuse of women and those that condone that sort of thing self righteousness (esp. the whole 'god's on my side' bit) racism intolerance of any sort people being overblown pricks (that i can tolerate, but it still bugs me immensely.) and i'm sure i'm forgetting some. enlighten me, please. i suppose i'm a hypocrite for the self righteousness one. which explains why i also hate myself sometimes too. edit: i'm not really proud of it, but it did put all those people in there place. so in the end, it was the best thing to do, i suppose. and let's get back on the topic at hand.
  21. i was totally ignored. oh well. h... i... j... never mind. incubus. then indk.
  22. i accidentally hit view results. so no vote here. i can't really pick one... mine changes as the mood does. if i did, i'd pick fearless. it's mellow, but still kinda happy.
  23. some movies come to mind. i don't necessarily cry. i just end up feeling like crap. namely: schindler's list saving private ryan the spiderman movies (yeah, yeah. it hit close to home, ok? it's got some parallels with my life. don't ask) a beautiful life the green mile the life of david gale (which is an excellent movie) i'm sure there are more, i just can't think of them. i'm a pretty big sap sometimes. i either get really melodramatic or i start laughing. ;) romantic movies will probably make me really mellow nowadays as well. way to go, lauren. 'balance is the key, but i take it to extremes i can think of all the ways but i can't find the means' suicide machines - someone i dunno. really good acting/script can make you emotional. kinda like music. sometimes things just trigger. who knows.
  24. i know... i explained this to you. it was justified. or maybe i'm trying to convince myself more than you.
