I really enjoyed Sharks. I think when your starved for these lost songs, I agree, it’s hard for them to do any wrong ha. But I still thought it was really good. The performance was super inspired too I thought. Those more aggressive Matt vocals always brought me closer to the songs for some reason, though I understand that was causing some vocal issues later on his career. Didn’t know anything about the song Revenge, that would be amazing if ever found. Its a shame demos or alternate tracks from any of the MGB stuff never surfaced. There has to be some outtakes or work in progress versions. What a dream that would be.

Agreed, seems like the material was already written. Not even sure how much James Iha really even played on it, nothing real distinctive that screams him. Hopefully the followup material will be more collaborative. Lots of touring together happened since this last one was made.

Did anyone notice he stopped playing the 12 string guitar on Rabbits at some point on this tour? I wonder why he did that. Really liked that extra touch. Guessing maybe one less guitar to lug around.

I do find it strange too. For the show in Brampton, on top of acoustic, it's a seated theater, so you would think everyone would be pretty chill. But I guess depends on how the fight starts. There was a guy who was telling Matt to shut up and play and a few other audience members were getting mad at that guy, and that could have escalated. Thankfully the guy ended up leaving on his own shortly after that, so nothing came of it.

So you made it on time to the show Adam? No issues as far as that? I think I Miss New Wave would be a great fit, good call. Would love to hear that too.

If you have room to ask......Being that the Beautiful Midnight Revisited tour was so successful, any plans for another album to get that treatment with a Revisited type album or a full album tour, like maybe Avalanche? Thanks

Awesome Adam, glad you'll be able to document some of this tour. I am also excited to hear some stuff not heard in years. In addition to Change of Season, I remember Out of Style was mentioned by Matt for the BC show in 2017 and never happened. Maybe now we'll get that. Gonna be a good bang for your buck this run of shows.

Not to get too far off topic, but did MG or MGB's official page ever directly have a message board? Or did it go Running From Home to Metro to this site or something? Wasn't really following the web stuff for Matt back then, just listening to the tunes. I'm curious hearing all these crazy stories about these sites. Wild early internet days it sounds like.

Anyone get a chance to listen to the new SP album? Wasn't exactly what I expected. Personally the first track really turned me off. But I do like Silvery Sometimes and Search And You Shall Destroy. A couple of the others are pretty good too. But short album and not the return to form I was thinking. Maybe I just got nostalgic from the show I seen over the summer and it couldn't be matched. Still glad 3/4 of the band is rocking together again.

Not sure what its about either but really dig this song. I enjoy it live too with Matt on vocals only.

Glad you enjoyed. Some of my buddies were struggling during the real slow stuff with piano, so I get it. But for 3 hours, can’t beat it.

Very cool, glad you enjoyed, I felt the same. Yes some of the Mellon Collie shows are amazing to watch/listen. 2000 seems to have some good shows too with varied setlists I'm finding.

Got up to Toronto for the smashing pumpkins show last week. Really enjoyed it. They have been off my radar for awhile and was fun to relive a lot of these songs. Over 3 hour show! Anyone else make it to a show? Gomo how was NYC? That wasnt the 30th anniversary show was it? Also anyone have any era of the band they like most? Gonna start searching out some old live shows.

Thanks daniel_v, can never get enough of old MGB stuff. Man vhs tapes don’t hold up in quality like we thought they would back then huh, ha. Still great to watch and thanks for taking the time, never seen that. Yeah Adam, lots of bands seem to be embracing the past and I understand not wanting to be a nostalgia act, but a nod to the past wouldn’t hurt, I agree. I know you said cost versus reward but maybe some downloads from the archive for a fixed price that don’t take a lot of work. Like the chili peppers did awhile back. Even that had a big petition to get those out though so I know it’s probably not possible. But when I see stuff like Daniel posts it gets you thinking every time

Always thought an updated version of 21st century with Matt’s live commentary would be good to bring back on one of these upcoming tours. It’s the perfect atmosphere for something like that. Not sure if he would go that direction anymore but hearing the different takes back in the Avalanche era was fun. A way to sneak in an older song and get a little more out of it.

Sounds absolutely amazing. The archives we have all been waiting for.
