  1. https://instagram.com/p/BK3bEUCBJtT/ Which song do you guys think this is? My guess is I Miss New Wave, but legit who knows! The reimaginings are very re-imagined! So honestly it's hard to tell. That's my best guess. You can kind of sing the lyrics over it. So hyped. I'm ready.
  2. send them to me somewhere if you can! emmit643 on twitter or greysierra on insta if you wanna DM them. -or add yourself to the MG fb group and stick'em there! Agreed, great great time.
  3. aha yeah!! I saw your pics, awesome! It definitely was still a great show. But yeah, felt bad for Matt at the beginning when he kept coughing. and yeah, VIP totally weird. I mean I guess if I was there not injured, and to see more than one band, it would still be worth it, and actually better too get all the press out of the way, rather than a bluffest where they're in there on special barricade right in front of the stage the whole time, but in just seeing the one show, and losing out on being right front for the first 3 (or 2.5 really, thank you mashups!) out of a short setlist was a little annoying. Although i also can't really complain since the festival accommodated my injury and upgraded our reg VIP to FOS, sooooo..lol Def a good time.
  4. Turf was super awesome. Except a couple confusing things. Like, apparently there was two degrees of VIP tickets. One that just gets you access to VIP bathroom and bar, but you off to the side of the stage (lame) and then the degree we didn't know about FOS which gets you front of stage privileges. In not knowing this, we only had the bogus side stage VIP, however my and my knee brace and crutches were given sympathy by someone working the festival, who told security we were to get FOS privileges for shows. The section was open to media/press only for the first 3 songs, and then after that they let in VIP, but once again my injury got me more sympathy in which I got to go in from the opposite gate the rest of the VIPs, and I also got in first. I went right dead centre and right up to the stage and it was awesome!! I gotta say, I really enjoy getting special treatment when it comes to stuff like this! (And it's about time something good came out of this injury. It's been the bane of my existence for over a month). Short but sweet setlist, you can see it on my Instagram (greysierra) There was a really nice moment of the crowd singing the end of Apparitions a couple of times with real quiet guitar playing. It was just a really good time. Worth my leg just about falling off from over-exertion lol. PS: there seems to be a bogus MG fb account atm, just FYI. It added me, but you couldn't see any friends or pics, and all the posts were reposts of his artist page but like posted today. So yeah, just FYI. I flagged and reported the account. Though it was really exciting to get a notification that "Matthew Good (official) had sent me a friend request lol. *****in less of course this is legit Matt, in which case I would apologize for being so skeptical ahahaha (although you'd think if it were legit I would friends in common with the account...like at least Bones, Blake and Stu. Also: uglyredhonda it was great to meet you but I totally forgot your actual name (so did Kelly! lol) I hope you enjoyed the rest of the shows at TURF
  5. Picked up VIP tix for MG at TURFto tomorrow Excited!
  6. Haha yeah, I also thought it was 17min from how it was written in the tweet lol. You guys ever stop to think about awesome it is to have a favourite artist who's career spans as long as it does, with pretty consistent new music every couple of years? Like I'm sitting here on the train thinking about it, and it's pretty awesome. There are bands that you like, and they put a couple records out and it's awesome and then they're gone. Or ones you discover a bit too late and you still appreciate their music but kinda miss the peak to be actively involved with it all. But like as someone that started listening to Matt pretty young, I've gotten to like grow up with the music and hear it change, and also change myself. And meet new people and connect through it. And have a lot of fun at shows. My mom or aunt used to bring me to the shows, and only in Ottawa, cause I wasn't old enough to go myself, but now I go myself all the time and in different cities. I don't know. To me it's all very overwhelming amazing and I'm really glad to be a part of it all. Thanks Matt. #souljourneysonthetrain
  7. Hopefully Matt's feeling better too. It sucks to perform when you're feeling sick.
  8. Matt said it was Suburbia in the comments. And yes, he and the guys did a 17+min rehash of Born to Kill, and also a reworked I Miss New Wave. Now, since he has said there will be the revived BM tour it could be for that, or maybe (since they are at a studio right now) there's like a special edition of BM coming out? But it could also just be them practicing it while they're all together. MAYBE WE'LL GET A PREVIEW AT TURF. god that'd be great. everyone please pray for me that I don't get trampled at TURF while on my crutches haha **in the comments he said he's not redoing *all* of BM, but it could still be a special edition reissue with the bonus re-recorded tracks. I dunno. #speculation
  9. With the cowbell. I'm so excited

  11. The tweet was referring to Born to Kill. I *really* hope that gets played at TURF this weekend! He even said he thinks this new version with the guys is better than before. And it was already so good.
  12. Matt's in the studio recording. Bones, Stu and Blake are all there too. #gangsallthere they're at Bathouse Studio So stoked. Also this place looks really awesome. http://www.thebathouse.com/index.html
  13. Finally got a ticket to Our Lady Peace at TD Place (Ottawa) October 28th. I was originally going with someone, who still didn't have tickets yet, and didn't seem to have plans to buy them anytime soon and pickings were getting slimmer and slimmer. I gave up on waiting and just bought myself a ticket. TBH I enjoy going to concerts myself anyway. I wish I had ditched the idea of going with him earlier, cause now all the Floor (p1) and p2 tickets are gone. So I'll be kicking it in P3, section 17 row DD seat 11 solo. Can't wait though! I've never actually gotten to see Our Lady Peace before!
  14. I dunno. Other patrons can be shitty, but I still try not to let it ruin my overall vibe (even those Belleville bitches at the Kingston show). Matt could play a show at the Carp Dump and I'd still go. Or like, inside a sewer. I just love the music. Although, I also always make sure to arrive early for anything General Admission, so I'm right up at the front, and if I wasn't at the front my opinion of a shittier venue might be different. It's easier to block out negatives when you're up close and personal and it's like the band's there just for you. If sweat can drip off their face and fall onto you you're that close, that's a plus. haha
  15. all the time. if something really resonates with me, sometimes even when I play. The connection I feel to music is super deep. Music is super important to me and I guess my body holds it to that high a level of significance too. That's interesting too; I always just assumed everyone did! Almost never fails me for the Canadian or American nation anthems too. (shed a tear or two before as well haha)
  16. you can see in this video from another angle Jimmy telling them to knock it off too. Similar thing happened to us at the Kingston show last tour. Didn't escalate as heavily, but I definitely appreciated when Blake came and shook our hands at the end of the show, and told the other girls to fuck off. People need to settle down and just let people enjoy themselves at shows. Like really. My favourite non-music moment is when they don't have his photos at the Ted Talk, and he exposes their sign as styrofoam. lol
  17. I wasn't there, (#stupidinjury) but Kelly got the setlist from Bala. https://instagram.com/p/BJV3LocBMtt/
  18. haha thanks! I actually have a scrip for a better brace now, which I wasn't gonna upgrade to ($$) but found out all supplies are covered (my workplace first told me they weren't) so I'm probably gonna check it out soon. I'm basically afraid to start back with anything when I'm healed. I never want this to happen again. But I'm super missing spinning. So they second I'm cleared for that I'll be back in the studio for sure.
  19. Thanks! I actually worked this into a set at a wedding the saturday before I popped my knee out (I was casual background music during the cocktail hour, so I slipped it in among the love songs and other stuff) so it was on the list to be recorded soon, but had I not been injured, no probably not with this timing! I had my follow up appointment with the orthopedist today...I'm off work until September 19th... :/ such a long time... Guess it's more time to record.
  20. If I'm ever in Calgary, I'll definitely hit you up! I've never been to Western Canada, so it's on the list. Thanks! All this positive feedback is really turning my sad/boring/isolated/gimpy week up! :P
  21. Wow! Beautiful venue. Looks like a wedding lol
  22. Wow. Number one, thanks for listening!! It is very surreal to know that your favourite artist has listened to you do one of their songs, and liked it. Definitely wish I could see it tonight, gives me chills every time. I played it Capo 3 also, not quite those chords though. Mostly because I'm not too fancy with the guitar and thought my voice sounded good there. Now I just have to figure out how to work this into every conversation I have for the next week. ;)
  23. Thanks! MG and Lana are prob my two fave artists to cover. I'll say I kind of enjoyed the first day or two off, and now I'm so bored. Been out since Monday. I've watched almost 2 entires seasons (3 and 4) of Buffy. It's not old yet, but I'm sure it will be soon...

    Fine Art

I've been pretty bored, and laid up basically doing nothing all week since I popped my knee out working at a camp on Monday (file under FML) but I recorded a new MG cover. One of my faves; especially the line "I used to think I'd get over everything, but everything just got over me" [can you tell I'm feeling a bit isolated this week?? lol] https://soundcloud.com/emmit643/fine-art-of-falling-apart
